Social psychology is a field of psychology that focuses on how people interact and relate to each other in
a social context. Study how a person's perceptions, attitudes, and behaviors are influenced by group
norms and expectations.

One of the first studies in social psychology was carried out by the German psychologist Georg Simmel in
1908, who investigated how social interactions influence the formation of individual identities.

In the 1930s, psychologist Kurt Lewin developed the theory of group dynamics, which held that people
in a group mutually influence their behaviors and attitudes. This theory is still relevant in modern social
psychology.

Social psychology has also explored topics such as conformity, social influence, prejudice, and
discrimination. These issues have been the subject of seminal studies, such as Solomon Asch's famous
1951 Conformity Study, which examined how people conform to the opinions of others.

Today, social psychology remains a dynamic and important field, with research continuing to address
fundamental questions about how we interact and relate to others in our social environment. These
studies can help us understand and address complex social issues, such as discrimination and injustice.
