Description of a work of art.

Descrizione di un'opera d'arte. 1. AUTHOR: Talk about the author and say his/her
name, the period in which he/she lived and where. EXAMPLE: EXAMPLE: -In the
background, I can see...(some mountains, hills, clouds in the sky,...) -In the
foreground, I can see...(a stream, a road, a wall,...) -The author of this painting/work
is...(name). He/She was born in... (17..., 18..., 19...) during... (Romanticism, Cubism,...
) in... (London, Paris, Rome,...) 6. SUPPOSITIONS: In a painting you can add personal
comments about what the figures do and what the scene shows. 2.
WORK OF ART: Introduce the work saying when it was made and how it is named.
EXAMPLE: EXAMPLE: -In my opinion, the... (man, woman, dog,...) is... (working,
talking, barking). -The painting/work was made in... (17...,18..., 19...) and its title is...
("The Shipwreck", "The Hay Wain"...) -I think that... (a storm, someone,...) is to come.
3. DESCRIPTION: When you describe a work of art, you should start from the top and
explain what you see. 1. ESEMPIO: EXAMPLE: -L'autore di quest'opera d'arte è...
(nome). -Starting from the top, I can see... (a cloudy sky, a blue sky, the night sky,...) È
nato/a nel... (17..., 18..., 19...) durante il (Romanticismo, Cubismo,...) a... (Londra,
Parigi, Roma,...) -On the top there is/are...(flying birds, stars,) 4. DESCRIPTION 2:
Proceed with the description by moving on the right, in the middle and on the left.
EXAMPLE: -On the right, I can see... (some people, animals,...) -On the right side,
there is/are...(some rocks, tree trunks,...) -In the middle, I can see...(a waterfall, a
camp,...) -On the left, I can see...(a flock, a valley,...) -On the left side, there is/are...

which plan you are talking about, if it is the foreground or the background. AUTORE:
Parla dell'autore dell'opera dicendo il suo nome, il periodo in cui è vissuto/a e dove. 2.
OPERA D'ARTE: Introduci l'opera dicendo quando è stata fatta e com'è intitolata.
ESEMPIO: -Il dipinto/L'opera è stata fatta nel... (17..., 18..., 19...) ed è intitolata...("Il
naufragio","Il Carro del Grano") 3. DESCRIZIONE: Quando descrivi un'opera d'arte, è
consigliabile iniziare dall'alto ed esporre ciò che vedi. ESEMPIO: -Partendo dall'alto, io
vedo...(un cielo nuvoloso, un cielo azzurro, un cielo notturno,..) -In alto c'è/ci sono...
(uccelli in volo, stelle,) 4. DESCRIZIONE 2: Procedi con la descrizione muovendoti a
destra, nel mezzo e a sinistra dell'opera. ESEMPIO: -Sulla destra, Io vedo... (alcune
persone, animali,...) -Sulla parte destra, c'è/ci sono... (alcune rocce, tronchi di
alberi,...) -Nel mezzo, Io vedo... (una cascata, un accampamento,...) -Sulla sinistra, Io
vedo... (un gregge, una valle) -Sulla parte sinistra, c'è/ci sono... (case,...) 5.
DESCRIZIONE 3: In caso di un dipinto in prospettiva, puoi specificare di quale piano
stai parlando, se è il primo piano o lo sfondo dell'opera. ESEMPIO: -Sullo sfondo, Io
vedo... (alcune montagne, colline, nuvole nel cielo,...) -In primo piano, Io vedo... (un
ruscello, una strada, un muro,...) 6. SUPPOSIZIONI: In un dipinto puoi aggiungere
commenti personali riguardo a cosa stanno facendo le figure o cosa mostra la scena.
ESEMPIO: - Secondo me, ... (l'uomo, la donna, il cane,...) sta... (lavorando, parlando,
abbaiando). -Penso che stia arrivando... (una tempesta, qualcuno,...).
