all'anima dello stampo, fissata su apposito basamento.
BASAMENTO.
all'albero del vibratore.
"aiuto sformatura" (Stripping device).
PRESSA A PORTALE.
1. 1 Working cycle
The Vibrotubi are controlled by means of an electromechanical system and are operated by
one or two operators. The cycle consists of four main stages:
FILLING:
Filling with concrete is achieved by means of a belt conveyor, capable of rotating and moving
back and forth in order to reach any part of the mould.
In order to obtain a uniform distribution of the concrete mix inside the mould, the belt may be
equipped at its end with a special rotating conveyor.
VIBRATION:
The beton tamping is obtained with the vibrator internally fitted on the mould's core, which is
on its turn fixed on a proper base plate. Products of various dimensions may be
manufactured by only adjusting the intensity of the vibration.
Vibration generally takes very little time and for this reason, demoulding may take place very
rapidly.
PRESSING:
The hydraulic portal press defines the pressing operation. The portal press operates upon the
form-fork during vibration with its vertical axis coinciding with the form-work's. This permits to
obtain precise pipe ends, on which, subsequently, the flexible gasket may be fitted. After
making the impression, a pallet is located inside the space made by the press. During the
demoulding and drying operations, this pallet allows to preserve unaltered the geometrical
characteristics of the terminal part. The set rings will be removed and employed again when
the product is partly cured.
DEMOULDING:
Upon completion of the previous phases, the demoulding is carried out with the core fixed to
the base plate while the outer mould together with the manufactured product and its pallet are
extracted.
Rotation of the belt, in the non-working position gives the possibility to carry out the
demoulding operations. The outer form-work, once extracted, is brought into the drying area;
the product, which rests on the pallet, is then removed .

PULIZIA ESTERNA
Controllare quindi periodicamente, in particolare i raccordi
guarnizioni "O-RING" poste nelle apposite sedi.
A) LUBRIFICAZIONE CUSCINETTI

- The key must stay in possession of the person responsible until the end of the maintenance work.
Disconnect also the switch of the heating circuit, before carrying out whatsoever operation (see
electrical schemes).
- Extraordinary maintenance, aimed at fixing faults or malfunctions, must be assessed according to its
importance and notified to the company which will provide details and technical advice.
CAUTION!
The used oil is highly polluting and must be disposed of in accordance with current laws.
COOLER CHECK
For the air-oil models frequently clean the finned surfaces removing any deposit that may have built up
during operation, check the functioning of the impeller’s motor as well as the efficiency of the
temperature adjusting thermostat.
OUTER CLEANING
The outer cleaning allows to easily detect possible leaks and consequently a prompt intervention by the
maintenance personnel. You should therefore periodically check, in particular, the connection joints and
the joining surfaces of the solenoid valves block. If the leaks are not due to the blocking screws being
loose, dismantle the blocks and replace the O ring seals in their housings.
A) BEARING LUBRICATION
All conveyor bearings, excluding those of the reducer, are filled with grease for 2/3 of their capacity.
When they must be replaced (recommended once a year), they should be washed using a
degreasant and filled for 2/3 of their capacity with grease for rolling bearings.
B) REDUCER LUBRICATION
The reducers are supplied complete of lubricant. When changing the oil, it will be necessary to do it
considering the temperature conditions of the mechanical components and of the fluids, and by taking
the suitable precautions. Verify that the breather holes on the reducer are not obstructed.
The lubricant’s exchange interval depends on the conditions of use briefly summarized in the below
table:
WARNING!
The low oil have to be collected in suitable containers and disposed of
according to the laws in force
D) HOPPER CLEANING
Particular care must be taken for the elimination of concrete residues inside the hopper. This
operation must be carried out from above with the use of stairs or staff lifting devices that are in
compliance with laws in force and equipment (brushes, etc.) using an appropriate extension so that
the person does not have to enter the hopper. The presence of a second person is also required to
guarantee and control the stability of the person engaged in the cleaning operation.
ATTENTION!
The staff in charge of cleaning must never climb onto the belt or enter into
the hopper.
To periodically check, almost every six months, when the machine is stopped and with absolute
feeding and pressing absence:
-the state of cables, of sockets and of plugs
-the state of fittings for hydraulic fluid, for compressed air, and other fluids, flexible and not, and of
the related fixing staples.
If the materials and products come out damaged or worn out replace them with products with same
feature.
Main Cautions
IS OBLIGATORY to carry out the cleaning with the main switch of the electric command
board in position of DISCONNECTION (0). When the manoeuvre has been carried out, the
switch has to be locked in disconnection position by means of a key padlock (not
supplied). The key shall rimanere to the responsible of the cleaning operations until the
end of the interventions. Disconnect also the switch of the heating circuit, before carrying
out any operation whatsoever (see electric circuits).
The cleaning has to be carried out dry-cleaning system, avoiding water use.
The cleaning has to be carried out by using installations, equipments and protection
devices (individual and collective) in accordance to the pertaining laws in force and to the
features of the place where the installation will be used
WAY OF ENTERING
The entrance may be possible only with the “Vibrotubi Station” not in operation, by previously
having agreed with the person in charge of the machine itself.
Once the pit is accessed, the blue light will lights up, signalling that the machine is disabled as
regards operation.
FAILURE OF THE BLUE LIGHT TO LIGHT UP AT THE ENTRANCE CAN MEAN THAT THE
CONTROL EQUIPMENT IS FAULTY OR THAT THE LIGHT COULD BE DAMAGED. IN THIS
CASE THE PROTECTION FUNCTION IS NOT GUARANTEED AND THEREFORE BEFORE
ENTERING DANGEROUS AREAS ALL THE NECESSARY CHECKS MUST BE CARRIED
OUT.
The pit access determines the interruption or the impossibility to restart the machine.
Operation of the machine is therefore always subject to the "RESET" command which must be
given by the person responsible for operation of the machine by means of the enabling key.
This person must ascertain the reasons why the pit safety operated and check that there is no-
one inside the foundation during restart of the machine.

presentano i supporti all'ulteriore rotazione manuale.
A regolazione effettuata richiudere
accuratamente tutti i controdadi affinché i supporti siano bloccati.

3.2.2. Positioning
Transport the core until it is vertically over the babasement se of the Vibrotubi plant.
Manoeuvre it into position; fitted inside the lower part of the core is a support for fastening the
pneumatic-hydraulic vibrator connection pipes; before the core is lowered into the basement
dugout position it so that this support is on the same side as the block for hydraulic
connections fitted to the base.
Lower until the ends of the hose for hydraulic connection of the vibrator reach the basement;
insert these through the slot provided on the plate until they reach the far side.
Lower further until the end of the vibrator shaft reaches the drive hub fitted to the basement;
fit the shaft, operating through the hole in the lower part of the core.
Lower further until (cores with a diameter up to 1,200 mm) the core is almost resting on the
basement or (cores with a diameter of over 1,200 mm) until the three taper pins on the
bearing bases are almost resting on the basement, taking care that the vibrator hose can run
freely and are in the correct position.
Manoeuvre into the final position, aligning the holes in the 3 bearing bases fitted to the core
with the holes on the bench in diameters up to 1,200 or, in diameters from 1,400 to 3,000,
aligning the locking pins with the conical seats in the bench.
Bring the core to rest and fix with the specific bolts M20 and self-locking nuts (up to 1,200) or
the specific self-locking nuts M30 to be fitted to the ends of the pins which project under the
bench (over 1,200).
Operating through the hole on the core, fix the hoses with clamps and check that these rotate
freely by turning manually.
Cores with diameters up to 1200 can be adjusted as described below, referring to fig. 3.3:
1) Use a level or plumb line to check that the core wall is exactly vertical in correspondence to
pos. 1. If necessary, adjust the antivibrator screws so that the variation in compression of the
elastic elements produces the required movement. This adjustment is made by loosening the
nut and locknut from each other using two 30 mm hexagonal wrenches, adjusting the position of
the lower nut and re-tightening the nut and locknut together. Turn the nuts which regulate the
torque in exactly the same way.

2) Check the verticality of the core wall in correspondence to pos. 2. If necessary, adjust the
antivibrators following the same procedure as above.
3) Check the verticality of the core wall in correspondence to pos. 3. If necessary, adjust the
antivibrators following the same procedure as above.
4) Each adjustment made on a specific position can influence the verticality of the core which
has already been adjusted at the other points. Therefore, the 3 reference points must be
checked again and, if necessary, re-adjusted.
WARNING!
The antivibrators must neither be too tightly nor too loosely compressed.
5) Once the adjustments have been made the three snap-preventing tie rods must also be
adjusted to leave a clearance of 4 mm (see. fig. 3.1). This adjustment is made by loosening
the nut and locknut on the end of the tie rod away from each other, using two 36 mm
hexagonal wrenches, adjusting to the correct position and re-tightening the nut and locknut
together.
Cores with diameters of over 1200 can be adjusted as described below, referring to fig. 3.4:
1) Mark two positions on the outside of the core at 90° from each other and spaced between the
positions of the bracketing (pos. 1 and pos. 2).
2) Use a level or plumb line to check that the core wall is exactly vertical in correspondence to
pos. 1. If necessary, adjust the antivibrator screws so that the variation in compression of the
elastic elements produces the required movement. This adjustment is made by loosening the
nut and locknut away from each other using two 30 mm hexagonal wrenches, adjusting the
position of the lower nut and re-tightening the nut and locknut together. Turn the regulating nuts
on all three antivibrators in exactly the same way, so that the compression of these is almost
identical.

3) Use a level or plumb line to check the verticality of the core wall in correspondence to pos. 2.
4) Each adjustment made on a specific position can influence the verticality of the core at a
position which has already been adjusted. Therefore, these must be checked again and, if
necessary, re-adjusted.
WARNING!
The antivibrators must neither be too tightly nor too loosely compressed.
5) Once the adjustments have been made the three snap-preventing tie rods must also be
adjusted to leave a clearance of 4 mm (see. fig. 3.2). This adjustment is made by loosening the

wrenches, adjusting to the correct position and re-tightening the nut and locknut together.
Note:
After installation, the closing cover element must be filled and levelled with concrete.
The concrete has the function of lowering the amount of noise emitted by the moulds
during the vibration stage and of contemporaneously stiffening the elements.

Now turn the centring trays until they come into contact with the antivibrator of the cover.
Once they are touching, which can be detected by the fact that it is difficult to effect the last
manual turn, use a 46 mm hexagonal spanner to tighten the trays for one more complete
turn, until the load is divided, resting both on the pallet-support of the core and the cover. It is
important for the pallet-support always to be partly loaded to guarantee the seal (made by the
gasket fitted between this and the core) against cement leakage which could occur between
the core and pallet during the concrete filling operation.

Adjusting the bearings and centring the moulds with the core.
With each change in production it is necessary to correctly adjust the antivibrating supports
fitted in pairs to the stripping devices, which support the mould and define its centring with the
core (see fig. 3.9).
During fitting, the adjustable supports must be tightened after having loosened the locknut.
In these conditions, after having been positioned, the mould will be completely supported by
the base pallet which rests on the pallet-support of the core.

The adjustable supports must now be loosened until the antivibrators come into contact with
the bearing trays fitted on the flange of the mould base. Adjust the position of the devices
until the antivibrators are perfectly in line with the trays. Tighten the bolts of the device locking
brackets. Continue to loosen until the antivibrators touch, which can be detected by the fact
that it is difficult to make the last manual turn. From the touching position tighten each support
for one last full turn, using an open 46 mm hexagonal spanner, until the load is distributed,
resting on the pallet-support of the core and the stripping device and therefore on the
Vibrotubi bench. It is important for the pallet-support always to be partly loaded to guarantee
the seal (made by the gasket fitted between this and the core) against concrete leakage
which could occur between the core and base pallet during the concrete filling operation.
Once the adjustment has been made carefully re-tighten all the locknuts until the supports are
locked.
From the touching position tighten each support for one last full turn, using an open 46 mm
hexagonal spanner, until the load is distributed, resting on the pallet-support of the core and the
stripping device and therefore on the Vibrotubi bench. It is important for the pallet-support
always to be partly loaded to guarantee the seal made by the gasket fitted between this and the

Open the pallet-holding device on the base of the mould, setting the levers to the fully open
position.
Lift the outer mould, following the instructions given in point 3.6 below, position it over the
vertical element of the pallet, manoeuvre the mould so that it is possible to insert the pallet into
the seat provided in its base. Lower the mould over the pallet and close the manual holding
devices.
WARNING!
It may prove difficult to carry out the closing operation directly on the
operating lever. It is advisable to use an extension of 600 to 800 mm, made
from a pipe with an internal diameter of about 25 mm (1").
PALLET CLOSING
COLLET
TIE ROD
(Adjustable)
When the pallet is perfectly housed, neither too much nor too little stress should be required
to close each holding device. Should either of these situations occur, it is advisable to adjust
the threaded tie rod which activates the closing collet until it reaches the correct stress value,
which may be quantified as a thrust of about 100 N on a levering arm of 500 mm.
INSERTION OF
WOODEN JOISTS
Lift the structure horizontally, using a fork lift truck or a suitable lifting harness. Position the
structure vertically over the pressing device shaft on the portal press, taking care to
approximately align the holes provided for the locking screws with the corresponding holes on
the press shaft. Lift the structure until it is over the assembly seat. Rotate slightly until the holes
correspond exactly.
Tighten the screws M27 (with a 41 mm hexagonal spanner) and continue to clamp them to a
torque of 550 Nm.

4. 1 Nastro di alimentazione
Ancoraggio:
rotazione sinistra, R = rotazione destra).
-Rotazione tappeto.
all'esperienza diretta di produzione.
Il movimento viene effettuato tramite i pulsanti di avvio (on) e fermata (off) posti sulla console
di comando.
-Movimento assiale nastro principale.
grasso. Ingrassare periodicamente i supporti utilizzando l'apposito ingrassatore.
LUBRIFICAZIONE RIDUTTORI

pannello a bordo macchina.

elevated base suitable for its being supported. The fixing will have to ensure stability
considering the maximum stress that may be produced either by the full loaded hopper (max.
load on the base), or by an empty hopper - belt and conveyor loaded with concrete and
extreme position setting (possible stress of traction on the rear tie rods).
-Belt rotation. This movement is carried out through the "MT" geared motor located on the
right front end of the belt. The belt's rotation speed determines the amount of concrete that
feeds the mould, and is regulated through the potentiometer located on the control panel. A
digital display shows the percentage assigned to the rotation speed in relation with the max.
set speed. The amount of concrete to be sent to the mould will depend on the product's size,
its typology, vibration, etc. It will be set by the plant's operator on the grounds of the actual
production experience.
The movement is carried out through starting (on) and stopping (off) buttons located on the
control panel.
-Axial movement of the main conveying belt. This movement is carried out through the "MA"
geared motor located on the left lower base of the hopper. This movement enables the
nearing or moving away of the conveyor from the mould's centre and enables the concrete to
perfectly flow in the space between the outer mould and the inner one (a further setting
possibility is given by the conveyor tilting that is determined by a proper hole on the
supporting brackets). The movement is carried out through a lever command located on the
control panel (FWD=forward; BWD=backward).
IMPORTANT!
ANY MAINTENANCE OPERATION MUST BE CARRIED OUT WITH THE STANDSTILL
PLANT AND WITH THE SWITCH ON THE ELECTRICAL BOARD DISCONNECTED. THE
FEEDING BELT MUST BE IN THE NON-OPERATIVE POSITION.
The personnel responsible for the maintenance has to possess as much training as that
indicated in the CURRENT INTERNATIONAL REGULATIONS.
BEARING'S LUBRICATION:
All the belt's bearings, excluding those assembled in the gear units, are lubricated with
grease. Periodically lubricate the supports using the suitable lubricator.
BELT ROTATION BEARING DISC: -Periodically grease in the two lubrication points (every 800
hours).
CAUTION
Used oil must be disposed of according to the current rules.
Cleaning operations:
IMPORTANT!
ANY MAINTENANCE OPERATION MUST BE CARRIED OUT WITH THE STANDSTILL PLANT AND WITH THE
SWITCH ON THE ELECTRICAL BOARD DISCONNECTED. THE FEEDING BELT MUST BE IN THE NON-
OPERATIVE POSITION.
Every end of shift, remove all the concrete residues from the hopper. The feeding belt's
edges must be cleared of the concrete residues as well as the scrapers for the cleaning of the
rubber belt. Remove the residues and the concrete slag around the working area.
At the end of the cleaning, spray a light coat of demoulding oil upon the surfaces touching the
concrete.
Fixing:
The fixed upright of the portal press is to be steadily fixed in the floor as shown in the works
project relating to the equipment installation. Besides, the supply includes the stopping
brackets to be assembled at the end of the runway of the mobile upright. The steel plate upon
which the mobile upright's wheel will operate and, accordingly, its assembling, has to be a
Customer's concern. Moreover, the steel plate assembling is to be carried out according to
the prescriptions indicated in the works projects relating to the equipment installation.
Portal press hydraulic/electric connection:
The press is to be connected to the main electrical board with the supplied feeding cables. At
their ends they are provided with fast connecting multiple couplings, which will have to be
inserted in the relating sites of the press and the electrical board.
The couplings are identified by the abbreviations X5 (cable for the feeding of the hydraulic
pumps' motor) and X6 (cable for the connections relating to the limit switch and the electro-
valve command).
Two couples of connections upon the columns of the portal press are provided for as to
enable the connection for the flexible hoses controlling the "pressing head rotation" device.
A couple of connections on the portal's column is provided to enable the connection for the
flexible hoses of the "Vibrotubi" basement plate as to control the (optional) stripping devices
should big-sized moulds be employed.

Every starting and before every stopping (positions defined by an inductive proximity switch
assembled upon the mobile upright), a regulator provides for the slowing down of the rotation
movement, concretely eliminating possible oscillations generated by the structure's inertia.
The rotation movement of the press is carried out by means of buttons located on the press
or on the control panel; they are: button "1-14" (BACKWARD=backward rotation), button "2-
16" (FORWARD=forward rotation) and button "2-15" (STOP=stop rotation).
This movement is carried out while the hydraulic unit of the portal press is functioning and by
operating the relating lever.
-Ascent and descent of the vibrator. This movement is carried out by means of the hydraulic
cylinder located on the portal and it is dependent upon the functioning of the hydraulic unit of
the press.
With press descent, to be carried out when the press is blocked on the vertical axis of the
form-work, the impression is made on the upper part of the product. The oil flow sent to the
hydraulic cylinder that operates the pressing head is controlled by the proper components,
whose calibration conditions the pressing strength.
-Pressing heads rotation. Together with the pressing operation, rotation of the pressing heads
basket upon which the pressing heads are assembled enables its profile rings to penetrate
more easily into the product and to obtain a smooth impression. Pressing heads rotation must
be run exclusively with products having circular profiles of the male impression. In the cases
of non-circular impressions, rotation does NOT have to be inserted and the pressing heads
basket must be kept in its position with the bar's assembling for blocking the rotation.
The movement is carried out by means of a lever-command located on the machine’s side, as
soon as the lever for the automatic rotation has been operated and kept in position.
In the event the bar must not be working, provide for the assembling of the special bar
supplied with the equipment as shown in the picture. After assembling it in the sleeves and
after assembling the support for bar's touch, provide for the blocking by completely tightening
the screws on the six-spoke structure's sleeve. During the descent and ascent of the pressing
heads, with the assembled bar, the rotation of this bar is blocked. DO NOT OPERATE THE
COMMAND FOR THE PRESSING HEADS ROTATION WHEN THE BAR IS ASSEMBLED,
as to avoid damages to mechanical components. Moreover, ensure that the cylinders for the
pressing heads' rotation ARE ALWAYS CONNECTED to the relating pipes through the
relating quick-release couplings.
Foreword:
The automatic reversal of the movement of the rotation pressing heads has to take place at a
pressure of 130 bar.
The functioning of the reversing valve determines, when reaching the pre-set pressure
values, the automatic change of the cylinders’ feeding pipes, with a consequential reversal of
the movement.
Setting mode (example for rod’s outlet/inlet at a pressure of 130 bar)
A B Fig. 4.12
P1 P2
1) Completely screw (clockwise) “A” and “B” regulators on the reversing valve that are shown
in the picture. The reversing valve is assembled on the command board on the side of the
machine.
2) Set the pressure of pump 1 that feeds the cylinder of the pressing heads’ rotation at the
value with which one wants the reversal to take place.
3) Bring into operation the motor of the press’ hydraulic unit. Position the selectors for the
automatic rotation of the pressing head with the two levers toward the inner side as shown in
the picture. Operate the lever for the automatic rotation of the pressing head by lowering it.
4) Operate upon one regulator (alternatively “A” or “B”) starting to slowly unscrew it, until the
cylinders’ rods begin their stroke in the opposite way. Block the regulator with the lock nut
and position the casing.
5) Now, slowly unscrew the other regulator until the cylinders’ rods start to move in the
opposite way. Block the regulator with the lock nut and position the casing.
6) Check the functioning of the automatic reversing valve; re-set pump 1 at the normal
functioning value (150 bar).
Stripping device (OPTIONAL):
The command runs the hydraulic cylinders which, assembled upon the supports of the form-
works located on the base-plate, provide for the first detaching of the product from the form-
work. Notice that these form-works are for products with a diameter greater than mm. 1,200.
The lever is run by the operator as soon as the stripping is carried out. The lifting strength
requested for the bridge crank or any other machine requested for this particular work, will,
consequently, be reduced to the sole weight of the product and of the outer form-work, as
their first detaching, is characterised by a noticeable strain due to the stripping friction, which
is fulfilled by the devices assembled on the "Vibrotubi" base plate.
IMPORTANT!
ANY MAINTENANCE OPERATION MUST BE CARRIED OUT WITH THE STANDSTILL PLANT AND WITH THE
SWITCH ON THE ELECTRICAL BOARD DISCONNECTED. THE PORTAL PRESS MUST BE POSITIONED
BACKWARDS AT THE END OF RUN IN THE NON-OPERATIVE POSITION. THE PRESSING HEADS BASKET
MUST BE IN THE DESCENDING TRAVEL END POSITION.
The personnel responsible for the maintenance has to possess as much training as that
indicated in the CURRENT INTERNATIONAL REGULATIONS.
Refer to the paragraphs of "MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
described in chapter 2.

LUBRICATION INSTRUCTION
At pre-set intervals, about every 250 hours, proceed with the lubrication; it is advised to follow this
procedure:
- lubricate;
- let the vibrator turn for about 1 minute and then stop it. Wait for another minute and start again.
Repeat this procedure for 4 -5 time, in order to give the exceeding grease the opportunity to flow
outwards without causing bearings' overheating.
