Homes, people, stories
Francis Bacon
In this, its first catalog-magazine, rather than stage its collections in specially
crafted settings, or in perfect, sterile renderings, Flexform chose locations
normally lived in by people, dogs and cats. Places that narrate stories,
dreams and desires; where people dine, swim in pools and converse in front of
the fireplace. And where, perhaps, a sofa or an armchair is passed down from
parents to children as an act of love. Or a table is moved into a new house,
still bearing all the memories of the old one. We chose them because we liked
to have them interact with our designs because this is what happens in the
real world. This is life. And it is the choice to be, rather than to only appear.

| Shared space. The hub of the larger of the two houses is a double-height
space designed for socializing. Like a giant living room, it is the ideal location for a generous
arrangement of the Harper seating system.
| Nothing is destroyed. The two Meadow Houses
were built with wood from the trees felled by the Vaia windstorm. Like a resurgence.
| The essence of things. The structure is fully exposed in these two
buildings, and its worth acknowledged. The interlocking of the beams becomes a decorative element that
lends warmth and intimacy, as in the bedroom, with the Asolo bed and Any Day nightstand.
L’armonia ritrovata.

value to the place and to the landscape, which can be admired while seated quite comfortably on the

Mario Asnago e Claudio Vender. | The Rationalist inspiration is also reflected in the choice of
furnishings. The Moka chairs paired with the Fly table are a re-edition of a design from the late
