Capitolo 1

diva ben quaranta inumati).
Una volta conclusosi il rito
funebre, cui partecipavano
più persone, la tomba veniva
sigillata con un grosso blocco di
pietra.
I reperti ritrovati all’interno delle sepolture consistevano in
ogni probabilità, era adibito allo sfr uttamento agricolo, men-
testi funerari, mentre rare e spesso neanche riconosciute,
all’aperto.

di sostentamento insieme all’attività venatoria.
rame venivano fabbricati pugnali, punter uoli e spilloni.

Ancora a Paestum,

numerosi vasetti miniaturistici e idoli in terracotta. Tali reperti

Oltr e a
all’epoca, Poseidonia iniziò, nell’ultimo quarto del VI sec. a.C. a
battere moneta adottando la tecnica incusa, come già avevano
fatto altre colonie magnogreche.

Accanto
all’immagine era impresso l’etnico ΠΟΣ (POS) e, qualche

così come espressa sulle lastre
della Tomba del Tuffatore. Le
tombe dei bambini, invece,
erano caratterizzate dalla pre-
senza di statuette a forma di ani-
mali e vasi in miniatura.
riero a cavallo in atteggiamento trionfale o vengono ripr odotte
Alcune raffigurazioni presenti sulle lastre tombali danno pre-
amici, suonatori, cori funebri, prefiche. I partecipanti recavano

qualche anno.
