all’arte orientale è uno spazio
‘sospeso’ dove si diffonde una luce
morbida, mentre quello per l’arte
moderna è uno spazio ‘dinamico’
animato, illuminato da raggi
incrociati. Lo spazio ‘sospeso’ è
costruito con scatole in cemento e in
cristallo, uno contenuto dentro l’altro
per creare una zona cuscinetto simile
a una engawa (veranda), elemento
tipico della tradizione giapponese.
La Langen Foundation è disegnata per
armonizzarsi con la natura: due
alture formano lo sfondo, rievocando
l’origine del sito. Un bacino d’acqua
riflettente unisce in modo astratto
architettura e natura.
I visitatori possono arrivare a una
distanza che permette loro di toccare
le opere d’arte, senza alcuna
barriera, circondati da un bellissimo
paesaggio naturale.

legno durissimo resistente a pioggia e
acqua di mare, il Kastrup Sea Bath
segue un profilo in salita, ospitando
nella parte finale due piattaforme di
altezza diversa, dalle quali ci si può
tuffare nel mare.
La conformazione, oltre a definire una
sorta di scultura lignea ben visibile
dalla spiaggia, protegge le persone
dal vento: aperta verso terra, è uno
spazio collettivo dove ci si può sedere
sulle panche che attorniano la piscina
naturale o sulla seduta, lunghissima,
che fa da parapetto alla passerella
d’accesso. Il Kastrup Sea Bath
racconta, oltre a un certo modo di
interpretare l’architettura, l’approccio
dei paesi nordici nei confronti della
collettività: è sempre aperto e non si
paga alcun biglietto per accedere.

Into the blue again
after the money’s gone
Talking Heads, Once in a lifetime, 1984
Into the sea: a short story Il telefono squillò ancora. Ancora lo scatto della
segreteria telefonica.
dall’auto: stava arrivando all’Aldebaran.
Ero invitato a pranzo, a Hybiscus Island.
Avevamo fatto tante corse con quella macchina, io e
David, Larissa ed io, Larissa, io e David.
In realtà andavamo
provato a parlarne. Larissa rispondeva sempre
con un sorriso e un silenzio. Anch’io non avrei
saputo fare altro.
