1984: nasce un nuovo modo di vedere,
costruire, accordare e suonare la batteria
acustica.
Dallesigenza di un musicista alla ricerca di
nuove e pi stimolanti sonorit percussive,
nascono le innovative batterie Tamburo che
vantano non pochi e vani tentativi di
imitazione.
Tullio Granatello, coniugando la decennale
esperienza professionale di batterista con
spiccate doti manuali e know how di tipo
tecnico, punta sul concetto costruttivo della
doga e produce i primi sets di batterie
Tamburo O riginal.
Nei primi anni limmagine e la produzione
sono affidate unicamente ad un modello di
alta liuteria ma la continua crescita della
domanda porta alla ricerca ed
individuazione di altri modelli che, pur nel
rispetto del valore artigianale, garantiscono
un elevato standard qualitativo e produttivo
assicurando la disponibilit sul mercato di
un tipico prodotto di bottega.
Lentrata nel gruppo Proel produce una
benefica spinta, nascono cos altre linee di
produzione che grazie alla brillante e
capillare distribuzione possono essere
disponibili per qualsiasi tipo di batterista,
dallappassionato studente al pi esigente
professionista.
1984 witnessed the development of a new
way of conceiving, manufacturing, tuning
and playing the acoustic drums.
The innovative Tamburo drums, boasting
numerous imitation attempts, stemmed
from a musicians search for new and
more stimulating sounds.
Combining his ten-year experience as
professional drummer with his remarkable
handicraft and technical know-how, Tullio
Granatello focused on the stave design
and began manufacturing the first sets of
Tamburo Original drums. During the first
years the manufacturing process and the
image of the brand were linked to the
model of an artisanal workshop; later, the
ever-growing demand led Tamburo to look
for different production models which,
respecting their handicraft value, could
grant high quality and production
standards and assure the availability on
the market of a hand-crafted product.
Becoming part of the PROEL group
allowed Tamburo to create other product
lines which, thanks to a brilliant and
widespread distribution network, are
offered to all drummers, from the
enthusiastic student to the most
demanding professional.

Q uesta serie rappresenta le origini della
Tamburo ed diventata negli anni un vero
must per batteristi che cercano quel
qualcosa in pi che rende una batteria un
vero strumento musicale. Tamburo, che per
primo ha creduto ed efficacemente puntato
sul concetto costruttivo della doga in legno
massello nella batteria, mostra nella serie
O riginal il suo inequivocabile valore. Grazie
al tipo di incastro, alla lavorazione e
allaccurata scelta di diverse essenze, le
doghe sono vere e proprie tavole
armoniche verticali che vibrano senza
costrizioni: la vibrazione si propaga quindi
nel senso della lunghezza da un estremo
allaltro del tamburo, lunga e definita, priva
dei cosiddetti battimenti. Uno strumento
veramente diverso, ricercato e raffinato
nella lavorazione, nellestetica e nel suono,
che non finisce mai di stupire per le
straordinarie opportunit che pu offrire al
batterista pi esigente.
This series represents the origins of
Tamburo and, during the years, has
become the indispensable choice for those
drummers who are looking for a superb
musical instrument. Tamburo was the first
to believe and successfully put into
practice the concept of the solid wood
staves for the shell construction, whose
value is now shown in the Original series.
The careful positioning of the staves and
the choice of many different types of
woods make the staves work like harmonic
tables, vibrating without constraint: the
long and definite vibration is vertically
propagated from one side to the other of
the drum, without beats. It is a really
sophisticated, original instrument for its
manufacturing process, visual allure and
acoustic performances, with astounding,
extraordinary opportunities for the most
exacting drummer.

doga in questo modello si specializza con
luso di multistrati lamellari di varie essenze
appositamente prodotti per Tamburo.
Ne deriva il caratteristico e personale suono
dato dal cilindro a doghe che esalta
lequilibrio timbrico caldo e rotondo.
Il forte ed evolutivo contenuto si
concretizza nellanello di contenimento
posto alle estremit del cilindro. Q uesta
innovazione, protetta da brevetto
internazionale, garantisce la resistenza
meccanica del fusto, rende inalterabile a
sollecitazioni termiche e di umidit la forma
circolare del tamburo, permette una facile
accordatura grazie alla sua particolare curva
esterna che ricalca perfettamente la
naturale sagoma della pelle.
It is the masterpiece of Tamburo thanks to
its original and unique design, a series of
wooden staves linked together to form a
cylinder, allowing Opera to stand out from
the competition. The construction concept
of the stave uses different types of
lamellar plywood, specially selected for
Tamburo, thus producing its peculiar and
distinctive sound with warm and round
tones. Its strong and technologically
innovative solution of the cylinder inner
rim, covered by an international patent,
provides a stronger and more durable
shell construction, preventing it from being
deformed by temperature and humidity
fluctuations and allowing a simpler and
greater variety of tuning opportunities,
thanks to its special outer curve which
follows the natural shape of the
drumhead.

Presente sin dalle origini, il tirante di progettazione e design Tamburo stato ulteriormente perfezionato:
A: Rondella di ottone che, grazie alla sua ridotta superficie di appoggio e allo scasso di contenimento nella
doga, garantisce al fusto la sua completa libert di vibrazione.
B: Asola di contenimento in ABS in grado di assorbire eventuali ronzii e vibrazioni generati dalle parti
metalliche.
C: Perno di trazione in ottone lavorato con diametro maggiorato a 7 mm: consente il perfetto e robusto
ancoraggio al fusto.
D: Bussola filettata in ottone: assicura minore attrito con lacciaio della vite e garantisce una migliore durata nel
tempo. La sua lunghezza di 25 mm assicura unaccordatura stabile e precisa.
The original design lug. From the very beginning this lug has been a major feature of Tamburo but now has
a new redesigned version.
A: The new thicker brass spacer now locates in an individual recess which is cut into the shell. This eliminates movement so improving stability
and resonance.
B: The body of the lug which is constructed from ABS absorbs and eliminates metallic vibrations from the internal mechanism
C: The central pivot which is made from solid brass is now 7 mm. in diameter and inserts into the drum from the outside which creates better
anchorage of the lug to the shell.
D: The brass tension road receiver has now been increased in lenght to 25 mm. And the diameter increased to 8 mm. The relationship
between the brass receiver and steel tension road creates smooth action and stable tuning

Another important an innovative feauture of Tamburo is the use of forged ABS inner rims that not only
strengthen the shell construction but also contribute to the overall sound.
Inventato da Tamburo nel 1984, il Ponte Alzacassa ha definito lo standard negli anni. Esso consente al
battente del pedale di colpire perfettamente il centro della pelle, riducendo cos le vibrazioni dal pavimento
e migliorando la proiezione sonora.
Il Ponte Alzacassa regolabile in varie altezze e pu essere utilizzato su casse da 16- 18- 20.
Invented by Tamburo in 1984 this clever bass drum Elevator has set the standard, enabling the beater to
strike the centre of the head reduces vibrations from the floor giving more sound projection. The end result
is a unique and amazing performance.
The Elevator is fully adjustable and is design to be used with smaller bass drums (16-18-20).
Lo snodo in ottone cromato opera a 360 e la sua precisione consente di posizionare il tom con la massima
libert. Laccesso allaccordatura inferiore della pelle del tom risulta quindi facilitato, in quanto lo snodo a sfera
resinata consente il massimo spostamento verticale; una volta bloccato, assicura la massima stabilit.

The chrome plated brass joint can turn through 360, its operation is swift and extremely precise and enables
the player to position the toms with total freedom. Access to tune bottom heads becomes easy as the resin
ball system allows maximum vertical movement, and when locked performance the stability is astounding.

I classici fusti curvati in legno sono soggetti a possibili alterazioni dovute ai cambiamenti sia di temperatura
che di umidit. Il sistema del cerchio in ABS rende il fusto stabile al 100% e perfettamente tondo. Esso, inoltre,
garantisce il preciso alloggiamento della pelle imitando la sua curva naturale. La superficie a contatto,

Normal wood shells are prone to distortion due to temperature and atmospheric changes but this system is
100% stable and remains completely round. It also offers a much more sensitive bearing edge, and as a
result the natural curve of the drum head lays perfectly on the bearing edge which reduces friction and aids
smoother tuning.

Q uesto modello, tradizionale nei cilindri
curvati, possiede un fusto molto leggero
composto da un sandwich in legni di
ciliegio e agatis a strati, 6 mm. di spessore.
Alle estremit presenta anelli di rinforzo
dello stesso legno di 3 mm. di spessore
che attribuiscono al tamburo notevole
rigidit e resistenza, caratteristiche
indispensabili a garantire unampia gamma
di suoni, con una preferenza per i toni
medio-bassi.
Strumento flessibile, si adatta ai pi svariati
generi musicali, dal jazz al pop rock.
La finitura con vernice trasparente
disponibile in due colorazioni: giallo e noce
satinato.
This model, with traditional curved
cylinders, features an ultra light shell made
up of a sandwich of 6mm cherry wood
and agadis plies.
Its 3mm-thick wooden inner rims provide
the drum with increased resistance and
firmness, necessary to produce a wide
variety of sounds, especially medium-low
tones.
This highly flexible instrument is ideal for
many different musical styles, from jazz to
pop and rock.
The transparent paint finish is available in
two colours: yellow and satin walnut.

The 3000 Series hardware is constructed from the highest grade chromed steel. The diameter of the tubular base of each stand is 32 mm
and each tube has a plastic insert for noise elimination. The double braced straight legs produce increasead stability all of which have
heavy duty rubber feet which eliminate vibrations from the floor. Each leg brace is 4.5 mm in thickness. The Hi-hat foot plates are
adjustable from side to side giving comfort to your individual playing position (expecially when using a remote bass drum pedal).

sonorit di una tra le migliori batterie al
mondo e linconfondibile tonalit dei piatti
di produzione turca.
O gni batterista sa, infatti, che in Turchia
esiste una solida tradizione artigianale nella
realizzazione dei piatti musicali. Una
pregevole attivit, risalente al XVII secolo,
che arrivata ai giorni nostri passando
attraverso lopera di Kerope Zildjian,
capostipite di una tra le pi importanti
famiglie di produttori di piatti. Egli riusc a
tramandare le sue conoscenze e i trucchi
del mestiere al nipote M ikhail che divenne,
a sua volta, insegnante e punto di
riferimento per gli altri artigiani. Tra questi
ricordiamo M ehemet Tamdeger che, dopo
anni di lavoro e esperienza, accanto a
M ikhail e insieme al nipote Temel
Tamdeger fond, nel 1980, una delle
aziende pi prestigiose e apprezzate al

The close co-operation between some
Turkish craftsmen and the technicians of
the Tamburo division, together with the
proven commercial and distributive
experience of PROEL, have resulted in a
perfect blending of the sounds of some of
the best drums in the world and the
unique tones of the Turkish cymbals.
Any drummer knows that Turkish artisans
have been producing cymbals since the
17th century. Kerope Ziljian, the founder of
one of the most important families of
cymbal-manufacturing craftsmen has
handed down the secrets of his art to his
grandchild Mikhail who later became
teacher and bench-mark for the other
craftsmen. After years of experience with
Mikhail Zildjian, in 1980 Mehmet
Tamdeger, one of these skilled artisans,
with his grandson Temel Tamde?er,
founded one of the most prominent and
appreciated companies worldwide.
In May 1999 Temel Tamdeger established
his own company called ANATOLIAN,
which combines craftsmanlike techniques
and highly professional industrial
manufacturing processes, where quality is
synonym of history and tradition.

centenary experience of Turkish craftsmen
in the working of bronze for the production

Q uesta serie, anchessa in lega di bronzo, si
differenzia per la sua particolare finitura ad
anello, ottenuta lasciando la campana
martellata e non tornita quindi pi pesante
dal suono forte e compatto proprio delle
campane, e da un anello con le stesse
caratteristiche che conferisce un suono
asciutto e molto definito.
This series in bronze alloy is characterised
by a particular ring-shaped finishing on the
cup which is obtained by leaving the bell
hammered and unlathed. The cymbal
acquires thus a heavier, compact bell

penisola araba, e dalla Grecia alla Persia.

importante ruolo nel mondo arabo
durante le feste, negli eventi culturali e,
soprattutto, nel Ramadan. Lo ritroviamo,
per esempio, a M edina in Tunisia suonato
in ogni concerto e ad ogni angolo di
strada. In Turchia presente nella
maggioranza delle case e viene usato per
accompagnare canti e balli, in tutte le
celebrazioni e negli incontri sociali.

suonatore di darbuka) che sta in
posizione seduta. Il darbuka urbano,
invece, appeso con una cinghia alla
spalla del suonatore e viene suonato
tenendolo sotto braccio. In questo modo
il musicista pu accompagnare la propria
danza e muoversi in libert. O ggi il
darbuka ha travalicato i confini etnici che
gli erano propri e viene suonato in diverse
formazioni musicali. In Canada, per
esempio, lo ritroviamo come strumento
a solo soprattutto per accompagnare i
ballerini di danza moderna.
The Tamburo Drums catalogue is
enriched with a new percussion line of
darbukas. This traditional goblet-shaped
instrument is usually played in North
Africa, from Morocco to Egypt, through
the Arab peninsula, to Greece and the
Persian region. This instrument plays a
primary role in the Arab festivity periods,
in religious festivities such as Ramadan
and in cultural events. In Medina, Tunisia,
darbukas are played in every concert and
at each corner. In Turkey almost any
household owns a darbuka which is used
to accompany folk songs and dances in
any celebration and social event. This
instrument has always been the symbol
of meeting and celebrating. When used
in religious occasions, the darbuka is
positioned on the legs of the drakbi (the
darbuka player) who is usually seated.
The so-called urban darbuka, on the
other hand, is fixed with a strap, hangs
from the players shoulder and is kept
under his arms. Thus the musician can
accompany his dance and move freely.
Today the Turkish darbuka has crossed its
traditional ethnic borders and is currently
played in different music groups. In
Canada, for example, it is often used as
solo instrument to accompany modern
dancers.
