Dear Colleagues,
Let me greet you all! I have not been in Georgia for six months.
Since my departure I have been living with a desire to come
back. Each day was starting with thoughts about our company.
From the distance I wanted to feel and imagine every day spent
without me!
Life of the brewery is full of dynamic processes - you should
always feel their pulse! Each of us has to fully realize objectives
of the enterprise and be willing to work with maximum efficiency.
Your work is and always will be adequately appreciated by the
management.
One should take pride in being a member of a family called Efes
Georgia.
I have been working in the company since its foundation and in fact
witnessed its development. Rhythm and dynamics that made the
company distinguished are still high. Each year was starting with a
new investment directed towards technical re-equipment and increasing production volume. In the light of such dynamics, it is impossible not to become a fan and supporter of products made here.
This is the business, we have to give maximum efforts.
My current activities include control of beer and lemonade production processes. My unit is in charge of the process from receipt of raw materials to production of final outcome. From professional point of view, this business is interesting and enjoyable for me. Each of us is given the opportunity to realize our
potential. Each of the staff member of the company is involved
in its development, as expressed in hours spent in the enterprise. Natakhtari people focus on our goals and try to efficiently
use work time, in order to optimize and realize our energy and
resources.

ment of Georgian economy. Natakhtari lemonade is already being sold in 16 countries of the world. Georgian lemonade is a
part of our culture, not having an analogue among refreshment
drinks produced worldwide. It is a Georgian product with a long
history. The demand for Georgian lemonade has emerged in the
world and it grows on a daily basis. This is a victory of Natakhtari
and it requires a big commitment from us.
As a rule, statistical figures, such as market share, volume of
investments and etc. determine companys strength. However,
in my opinion, quality and customers attitude towards the company, i.e. customer confidence are not less important. I can state
with pride that I am delighted when I feel such attitude from our

Natakhtari launched a promoting football lottery Make Your Wishes Come True with Natakhtari. From 15th of April Natakhtari brewery gives the chance to beer fans to win and enjoy various prizes,
including: 62 vouchers of GEL 1000, 8 vouchers of GEL 5000 and
1 voucher of GEL 20 000. Grand Prize is 2 travel packages to the
final game of the Football World Cup.
Natakhtari, as a football supporting company, gives the opportunity to two persons to travel to South Africa to attend the final game.
Travel package covers transportation costs, game ticket, as well
as Johannesburg city tour and accommodation expenses. Winners will also be provided with the pocket money.
In addition to the above listed prizes, 100 000 bottles of beer

NATAKHTARI INCREASES EXPORT


Natakhtari products are being exported to 16 countries, including
USA, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Israel, Cyprus
and etc.
In 2010 Natakhtari commenced to sell its products in Spain and Turkmenistan. Volume of exports compared to the previous year increased
by 50%, which can be explained by extension of current markets and
penetration in new ones. In the light of export, special increase in
demand on lemonade was noted.
It is important, that Azerbaijan occupies special niche among our
export markets. Therefore, specific advertisement campaign was designed for this country.

NATAKHTARI AS THE BEST BEER
Two brands of Natakhtari Company were awarded by Monde
Selection An International Institute of Quality Selections on
May 31, 2010. Natakhtari Beer and Natakhtari lemonade were
presented at the contest and they were awarded with golden
and silver medals respectively. It was the second participation of
Natakhtari in this contest.
Monde Selection An International Institute of Quality Selections was founded in 1961. Number of countries taking part in
the contest organized by Monde Selection has been increasing
for years and nowadays 80 states take part in it.
Prior to handing over the award, four-month laboratory research
of submitted products is conducted by international experts invited from various countries. To maintain impartiality more, than 70
well-known experts take part in the process.

Arm wrestling is my hobby. I have been very strong since my
childhood and one day I realized that I could not imagine my life
without arm wrestling. As soon as I get free from work, I hurry to
the gym four days a week for three hours I am engaged in this
sport. I am proud when I represent my country abroad. These
two undertakings complement each other: physically I realize
myself in arm wrestling and mentally at work. I manage to realize my potential, however I think that everything is ahead and I
can do more.

Irakli Mamulaishvili successfully passed his career path up to the position of Production Chief. He has been working in the company since
its foundation
It is an honor for me to work in this enterprise, I went through all
stages from worker to the chief. Year by year, I was growing as a professional and acquiring new experience. My work was getting more
and more challenging. In addition, my sense of responsibility was increasing. I gradually got promoted: I used to manage various departments and ended up as the Production Chief. In parallel, I was caring
for my professional development, attended several training courses
and was cooperating with German and Czech experts, says Irakli
Mamulaishvili.
INCEPTION
Many years ago, there was a big well, on the territory, where currently
Natakhtari company is located. Generally Natakhtari water is distinguished by its unique taste and composition.
Water samples were sent to Czech Republic. As expected, water turned
out to be of a very high quality. Water represents one of the essential
ingredients in a beer and lemonade production. Respectively, it was
decided to construct a plant on this territory. I am proud that I am in
Natakhtari from the first day

There are two technologies in beer production German and Czech.
We started working on beer production with Czech experts. They were
sharing their own experience with us and teaching us basics of beer
production.
Later German technologist visited us and I got acquainted with a German technology in addition to the Czech one.

Currently I work in Natakhtari by my occupation. It is a great happiness! Many years ago, my graduate thesis was dedicated to technology of alcohol beverages and beer. This field was attracting me from

In Efes Georgia we are given the opportunity to express our innovative ideas. Moreover, you can not only express but even implement
those. Experiment tests are being conducted in the enterprise. A few
months ago a competition was held among groups for creation of a
new brand. Our objective was to create a strong beer with high content of alcohol, basically for the winter season. After this competition
Natakhtari gave birth to a new brand Extra. Now this brand is very
popular among our customers. When employees are allowed to make
a new beer of different aroma and taste, which may become a brand,
it gives them a great stimulus
Respectively my profession gives me the chance to realize my potential. I do the best I can, however I wish to make new achievements,
deepen my knowledge and become even more successful for the benefit of our company.

plans for the previous week and set the plan for the coming week as
well.

produced by our competitors. It is necessary to know the market, what
type of beer is produced, imported or sold. I have tasted many types of

What is the virtue of a beer? There are no parameters for defining


beer, especially by a dilettante, who is not aware of production process.
Have you tried beer and liked it? That means its good! Its producer
found a customer on the market. It should be admitted that we, Georgians like beer with slight bitterness.
Changing beer taste and flavor is not an accepted practice. This or
that brand has its own specific taste and flavor. Stable taste and aroma are important for a beer and our goal is to maintain these qualities,
as they were accepted and liked by customers.
Improving beer taste such concept does not exist in beer production. If you intend to change taste or flavor this means you are ready
for a new brand!

SCOPE AND GRANDIOSITY OF


OCTOBERFEST WAS
ACKNOWLEDGED BY GUINNESS
Oktoberfest is known as the largest beer festival in the world held
each year in Munich, Germany. This festival is held every year since
1810. This year Bavarians will celebrate it for the 176th time.
Every year more than 6 million guests visit the town and festivities go for
18 days. At this time several million people drink beer on the 31 hectare
territory, specially allocated for the celebration. More than 50 food and
beer producing companies exhibit their products at the festival.
And still where does the Octoberfest tradition come from? Everything
started on the marriage day of Crown Prince Ludwig (later King Ludwig
I) and Princess Therese on October 12, 1810. Wedding celebration
was attended by all residents of the town. They got together on a large
square, which was later named after the Princess (Theresienwiese).
Ludwig I ordered to have Octoberfest every year. Having beer festival
each year became a tradition.
According to tradition the procession starts at 12:00. City mayor opens
a beer cask, which is a symbolic sign of taking start beginning the
Beer Marathon. This is the traditional fancy-dress procession, which
is recognized as the most beautiful, historical and well organized celebration in the world. Procession follows the same route annually, goes
through large main streets of the city and ends at Theresienwiese.
Festival covers the whole city. Octoberfest is included in the Guinness
Book of Records as the worlds largest festival.

BRITISH BEER FESTIVAL


450 TYPES OF BLACK AND WHITE
BEER AT YOUR HAND
British town of Stoke-on-Ternt hosts a beer festival every year, on the
last weekend of October. This year, Britons are going to celebrate it for
the 26th time. At this event various types of beer and local fruit wine will
be exhibited from all over the world. Beer festival is organized by CAMRA, a nonprofit organization, which promotes British beer on foreign
markets. CAMRAs aim is to assist customer in selecting a right beer.
On the day of festival town turns into a big pub, where 450 types of
Black and white beer are exhibited. Guests have the opportunity to
have other alcohol drinks in addition to beer.
This year, a special trip is being planned for ladies, who think that beer
is the best drink in the world. Also a small pub named UNUSUALE will
be opened, which will serve vegetarians. Beer served there will not
contain gluten.
Britons expect this day with anxiety, they are getting ready and celebrate it in a special manner. Though a fancy-dress celebrations are
not held at this festival, all Englishmen, even not beer fans, still drink
beer and get actively engaged in festivities.

At the festival, where the entrance was free, hosts offered many
interesting and entertaining events to visitors. On the special
scene installed at the Rose Revolution Square, several live
concerts were organized. Groups Mgzavrebi and Frani sang
well known songs. Many competitions were organized during
the day including in drinking beer. Winners were awarded with
many prizes. The evening ended with grand fireworks.
In the course of the festival football world cup games were
broadcasted, berikas show and motion theatre performance

According to Lund University from Sweden, EU is investing EUR 3.4 million in a comprehensive research program
on yeast. The aim is to develop new products in the food
industry, both in terms of new flavors and health-promoting probiotic products. Molecular biologist Jure Piskur
from Lund Univ. in Sweden is coordinating the entire research programme.
Yeast is an important ingredient in the production of beer,
therefore there is now a growing interest in making use of
the variety of yeast species. Different yeast species can
give a different character to beer. In the past many different species of yeast were used in food production, in a
process known as spontaneous fermentation, but nowadays only a small number of species are used. Yeast can
also be useful in the creation of probiotic food products.
There is high demand in this area from Europes increasingly health-conscious consumers.
Yeasts can be found everywhere in nature; on humans,
animals, fruit anywhere they have access to sugar. In
total there are around 1 000 identified species in the world,
but at least 10 000 new species are expected to be identified within the near future. Tens of species of yeast live on
grapes alone. The project will begin in January 2011 and
continue for four years.

BEST PLAYER OF NATAKHTARI


KASRIS RUGBY FAN CLUB
On May 22-23 the championship in mini rugby among mass media
teams was organized by the NATO Information Center. TV
Companies Rustavi 2, Imedi, Public Broadcasting Company,
Formula Creative, team of sports journalists and Media Holding
Palitra took part in the tournament.
Along with the other organizations or governmental authorities the
championship was supported by Company Natakhtari and
Natakhtari Kasris Rugby Fan club, which awarded a special cup Best Rugby Player of Rugby Fan Club. This prize was awarded to
Giorgi Arabuli, employee of Radio Voice of Abkhazia, member of the
winning team. All participants and guests of the tournament at the
final party had the opportunity to taste Natakhtari Kasris to celebrate
successful completion of the championship.
