Dear Colleagues, I greet you all!


First of all, I would like to congratulate you on successful results of 2010, which is the outcome of hard
work of each employee. Teamwork is the major route
towards development and attaining better results.
I commenced my work as a Logistics Manager in
May 2010. From the very beginning I got surrounded
with a friendly atmosphere and support of every staff
member. During this period we were assisting each other, sharing experience and ideas. Each working day was
full of interesting and dynamic processes.
Logistics covers various directions: relations with our
suppliers, finding new and the best ones, searching for
new opportunities and ideas, implementing innovations,
provision of correct and timely recommendations for the
purpose of improving the logistic processes, warehousing
raw materials, auxiliary items and produced goods etc.
I deeply believe that the united team determines managers success and represents the precondition for success of the entire company. There is no such thing as impossible or unfulfilled work. If everyone is well aware of the
assigned duties, realizes the complexity of work and the
purpose of its performance, everything can be achieved.
Environment created in Efes Georgia gives its employees the great chance for realization of their capabilities. The Company supports self-development of the
personnel through trainings and workshops.

is having business review meetings. This is the initiative


of our department and is being held on a monthly basis
since July. At these meetings the General Director and
department managers discuss achievements in various
sections, compare planned and actual results, exchange
information, analyze separate figures, etc. This is a very
good format for quick decision-making. Company plans
to improve warehousing, loading and supply systems
through installation of new supply systems and machines.
Georgian beer market is distinguished by high seasonality: demand for products dramatically increases in MaySeptember. Logistic department is obliged to ensure timely
supply of products from the warehouse to distributors and
respectively to consumers. Special equipment will be purchased for this purpose in 2011.
In the conclusion, let me mention, that 2010 was the
year of fundamental change. Company products acquired a solid place on the local market as well as abroad.
Natakhtari proved its strength in its segment. I wish, 2011
be even more productive. For this purpose, each of us
has to realize that there is no limit for success. Any wellthought and clear goal can be achieved.

Despite its centuries-old tradition, English market, like other
markets in recent decades, got invaded by multinational beer
producing companies, which was seriously opposed by the
British Beer fans. As a result of special information campaign Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), sector of small breweries got
renewed. In addition, large producers were forced to continue
production of draught bitter beer in aluminum (15 20 l casks)
and British gourmands still have the opportunity to taste traditional draught as well as bottled ale.

BEER SALES OF EFES GEORGIA


Our company has been continuously developing
for recent years. Sales volume is rapidly growing and
our position of a dominant market player gets stronger. Our sales increased by 30% compared to 2009
and by 25% with respect to projected volume.
Lemonade production increased by 22% compared
to the previous year. Number of countries, we are exporting our products to, reached 15. Export of lemonade represents 30% of the total production volume.
Increase in sales, being the outcome of the wholehearted work of each employee, is the main factor of
our financial success. Based on 2010 results Natakhtaris market share reached to 62%.
Investments made in the Company during 2010
constituted $16 million, major portion of which was
expended on improvement of Technical Department.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM FOR


STUDENTS IN EFES GEORGIA
Around ten students of Tbilisi Business Schools (GAU, CSB,
ESM) underwent three-month internship at Efes Georgia started
in April 2010. Interns were given the opportunity to get acquainted
with the structure and activities of Marketing and Sales Departments and take part in implementation of different projects.
Internship turned out to be successful for one of the students
she got recruited in the Marketing Department.

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM IN 2011


Company plans to organize the similar program in 2011 as well.
The course will be more diverse and have larger scope. Students will
have the opportunity to become familiar with Marketing and Sales
Department workflow. The first flow of interns for 2011 will include
students of Economic and Business Faculties of Ivane Javakhishvili
Tbilisi State University. Presentation of marketing strategies and business plans with participation of approximately 40 students based on
students ideas was organized at the University on December 29.
One winning team (five students) was identified and winners of the
second and the third places were announced as well. Members of
the winning team (1st prize) will undergo internship in Marketing Departments of companies Natakhtari and Barambo.

NATAKHTARI FOOTBALL TEAM IN A


BUSINESS VETERANS LEAGUE
Every weekend, starting from October 16, at the
games of Business Veterans League you would hear
fans yelling: Natakhtari, Natakhtari.
Natakhtaris selected football team, established on
the basis of football team, winning internal championship successively for two years, got engaged in a big
and prestigious Futsal tournament. After submitting special application to the Football Federation, the Company chose to take part in a Business Veterans League.
Tournament was quite representative by such teams as:
Patrol, PSP, DHL, South Osetian Administration, Caucasus Online and others took part in it. Despite experienced contenders, Natakhtari football team took a successful start and won five matches out of seven.

JOINT PRESS CONFERENCE OF
NATAKHTARI KASRI RUGBY FAN CLUB
AND THE MINISTRY OF SPORTS AND
YOUTH AFFAIRS OF GEORGIA

Joint press conference of the Ministry and the Natakhtari Kasris Rugby Fan Club was held on November
17, 2010 at the conference hall of the Ministry of Sports
and Youth Affairs of Georgia. Main topic of the press
conference covered games of the national team of Georgia vs. national teams of Canada and the United States
as well as review of events planned by the Fan Club.
Press conference was conducted by Nika Ramishvili (Droop), President of the Natakhtari Kasris Rugby
Fan Club, David Namgalauri, Deputy Minister of Sports
and Youth Affairs, Amiran Urushadze, Board Member of
Georgian Sports Fans and Niaz Mamrikishvili, the representative of the Georgian Rugby Union.
I can express the main objective of Natakhtari Kasris Rugby Fan Club in a few words Everyone to the
Stadium!. Visit of such a high class teams as Canada
and US, which are ahead of us in the rugby world rating,
is the most significant event in the history of Georgian
rugby. Therefore, all fans have to come to the National
Stadium and support our team! said Nika Ramishvili,
President of the Natakhtari Kasris Rugby Fan Club.

CELEBRITIES TO SUPPORT GEORGIAN RUGBY


Promotional campaign - Everyone to the Stadium!
was organized on November 19 under the initiative of
the Natakhtari Kasris Rugby Fan Club and with the support of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.
Celebrities and media representatives distributed special information flyers and conveyed message to population, especially to youth, to attend the game. Campaign
participants got together at the office of the Georgian Rugby Union and went to populous places. Campaign was
held at four various locations, on the territories adjacent to
Universities (1stt, 6th and tower buildings of the Tbilisi State
University and near Ilia State University). Nika Ramishvili,
President of the Natakhtari Kasris Rugby Fan Club, Zura
Gachechiladze and Inga Grigolia, members of Tbilisi Sakrebulo, Alexander Elisashvili, TV anchorman, Dima Oboladze,
sports journalist and Gia Tsinadze, actor (Mkudro) were
among the campaign participants.

Krones experts. Production figures were increasing for months and
almost doubled by the year-end. Next tranche of investments is
planned to be made in 2011. New lines for bottling glass bottles and
automatic rejection of defective products will be installed. Eventually the production capacity will increase by 80 percent.

2010 was extremely laden and interesting year. We managed
to successfully complete several most significant projects and harvest the real outcome. So what that its Winter, Natakhtari Kasris
Rugby Fan Club, Tbilisi Beer Festival, World Cup Lottery, Watching Football with Natakhtari, Lemonade Quality Campaign, this is

Start of 2010 was very interesting for me, during January
February I was sent by the company for training to Berlin Research
Institute for Brewing and Malting Technology (VLB). Training course
covered the whole technological process from the purchase of
raw materials to sales. Knowledge acquired in Berlin supports me
in my professional activities. Ill never forget warm and emotional
meeting with Professor Wolfgang Kunze, the author of Technology of Brewing and Malting, regarded as the Bible of Brewers in
the whole world.
New project, launched at Natakhtari, is also very important for
me. Within the frames of this project beer tasters will be trained
and aroma profiles of leading brands will be defined. Fortunately,
the first stage of this project has been successfully completed.

the incomplete list of those projects implementation of which


strengthened our brands and overall contributed to the Companys success. Marketing the completely new brand Natakhtari Extra needs to be mentioned separately. This product found its niche
on the market shortly.
Planning and implementing of each of these projects was quite
a complex and hard process, which involved every department
and without outstanding teamwork of all departments we would
not be able to talk about this success today. I also would like to
remember significant contribution of Niko Gomelauri to victory of
one of our projects.
For me, working in Efes Georgia is a certain circle, starting
with initiatives, followed by hard work and crowned with the outcome, then again entailed with new initiatives and so on

I can audaciously say that 2010 was a successful year. I can
call it the year of growth and achievement.
And I mean here professional growth of our team, implementation of state of the art techniques in sales system, which has
been reflected in enhancement of working standards of our dealers. Better service has been provided to our dealers and here I
want to emphasize permanent support of Logistics and Finance
Departments.

Thanks to our HR department, our staff members had the


opportunity to undergo numbers of training courses and acquire
new knowledge and skills. It was really on-time because in 2010
we faced serious challenges price increase, due to inflation,
and doubled excise duties. Despite all this, sales team did its best
and accompanied with valuable marketing support we managed
not only to sustain, but also to increase our sales and market
share.

Dealer mergers in regions and successful reorganizations


should be mentioned as well.
This year we have made very important decision for any trade
enterprise, we have decided to implement totally new approach
to our sales system presale system in Tbilisi.
Our export soft drink sales increased significantly and our beer
has been introduced to foreign markets.
For me personally 2010 will always be a year when Natakhtari
lemonade was given a second life. Thanks to our Technical Department we managed to satisfy growing demand on this product
and now already with ISO Certificate, we can expand our positions on the regional market.
Every single day of 2010 we could feel more than ever our
team spirit. This makes me optimistic and ambitious about year
2011.

LOGISTIC DEPARTMENT TEAM


BUILDING AT BOWLING CENTER
How to celebrate a holiday with colleagues? Answers to this question are as many as the number of people in the world. However, to
reach consensus on this matter was not difficult for employees of Logistic Department (Efes Georgia). Furthermore, they made decision
unanimously to celebrate one of the biggest holidays Mtskhetoba in
a special manner at Bowling Center.
Teamwork is the priority in this department says Giorgi Mshvildadze, Department Manager employees are assisting each other,
though this time we needed something else, more important, outside
work, which would have the form of team building. We decided to spend
the whole day (Mtskhetoba) together and visited a Bowling Center to
try our skills in sports as well. 24 employees got divided into 4 teams
and it started we gave the form of a certain championship to the
play, - says Natia Vashadze one of the employees. All of us were inexperienced in this game, however we instantly understood its principle
and the best player and successful teams were identified. I think, such
events bring co-workers together and increase the work efficiency tenfold.
I played it for the first time and obtained the highest score. I am a
venturesome by nature and may be it helped me to win. Game turned
out to be very interesting, could not conceal his emotions Guja Andriashvili, the winner.
Winner was awarded with the Symbolic Prize Natakhtari Cup by
Tornike Nikolaishvili, Marketing Manager, who was specially invited
for this occasion.

Efes Celsus is not just a meeting though, it is our knowledge platform which
we support with data systems. Our aim is to share knowledge and experiences

EFES CELSUS IN 2010?
Weve had a total of 120 Sales and Marketing people from managerial level
and above 70 of which were from international operations.
WHAT HAS BEEN DONE THROUGHOUT THE
ORGANIZATION?
Taking into consideration that the majority of the participants would be from
international operations, we wanted to draw attention to Istanbuls artistic and
creative richness. In that sense all participants tested their creativities by attending glasswork, calligraphy, jewelry and marbling workshops at Caferaga Medresseh. In line with the whole concept, all generated work was displayd at the
Istanbul Museum of Modern Arts where we had a privet museum excursion for
Efes only. We crowned the organization with a gala night at the same location.

PUB SPECIAL BRITISH TRADITION

British pubs are known in the world for their special


character and significant role played in the life of the
local community. Going to the Pub for a pint (0,5 L) of
beer and having conversations with its visitors is an integral part of Britons daily life.
Town and village people go to the nearest pubs or
bars for relieving stress after tiring working day to see
friends and simply to gossip. In addition, the feeling of
possession that every beer fan has towards local beer
is important.
EARLY BEERHOUSES

Two thousand years ago, in Roman Times, certain type


of chain of roadside guesthouses tabernae got established in Britain. It used to have sleeping accommodation, where the hospitable owner would serve the visitor
with hot meal and drink. Its noteworthy that the first signboards of such tabernae were created by Romans.
Popularity of Roman tabernae diminished in time and
in medieval centuries they turned into monastery estaminets, which used to host voyagers and pilgrims. However, the number of clients far more exceeded the capacity of monastery pubs, which contributed to origination of lay beerhouses.
In late medieval centuries many private estaminets
got opened in Britain. Various types of guesthouses and
beerhouses appeared where merchants were being offered night stay, food and drink.
