LEA 3 SECURITY SURVEY AND INSPECTION REPORT

I. SECURITY SURVEY

A. INTRODUCTION
1. Reference / Authority
The report conducted a security survey and inspection in BIT IC DAO campus as the final
requirement of the said subject Lea 3 (Instruction to Industrial security concept).
2. Date and Time Survey:
a. 1st day of survey – 22 of May.2023 / 0800H and 1200H
b. 2nd day of survey – 23 of May.2023 / 0800H and 1200H
C. 3rd day of Survey - 24 of Ma.2023/ 1400H/ 1200H

B. NAME AND MISSION OF INSTALLATION / ACTIVITY
1. Description of the unit surveyed:
a. BIT-IC Dao Campus is located in Tagbilaran 6300. Carlos P Garcia Avenue (122m);
It is (7th) stories building with different department and area.

2. Mission of the unit surveyed:


a. The coverage of this security survey is the 4th FLOOR Area only. The 4th floor Area has a
Eight Rooms. T411- Equipment for Maritime transportation; T412- BSMT Room; T413-
Equipment for Marine; T414- Class Laboratory for Electronics; T415- Equipment for
Maritime; ROOM T416 – T418 Classrooms.

b. The 4th floor Area has an different square meter each room, there’s a room can
accommodate 5O students at a time, also there are rooms can accommodate 40 students
at a time. It has 2 entry per room that you can use Enter and Exit.

C. PHYSICAL SECURITY:
1. Perimeter barriers:
a. Situation(s) as surveyed:
The 4th floor Area that consists Eight Room; has two Doors per room which is made by
Wood and activated by Stainless Main Door Knob. The Center of this area 4th Floor is where the
Chapel located with Parking Area.

b. Recommendation(s)
Based on the situation provided, it is recommended to implement routine maintenance
procedures in both areas to ensures long-term efficacy. Additionaly, it is advised to carefully
select a barrier that is most appropriate for the specific needs of the 4 th floor area.
2. Guard Force and Guard System:
a. Situation as surveyed
During the survey, it was learned that the BIT-IC CAMPUS has the following guarding
system, to wit:

b. Recommendation(s)
After the survey, we highly recommend to have an additional guard in the night so that the
guard 1 can Fucos at the Main Gate and the Guard 2 who Do the Rove in the Campus.

3. Personnel Identification and movement control:


a. Situation(s)
The BIT-IC Dao Campus has been implementing school identification (ID) for all students. The
security guard house will check the ID of each student because it was implemented to wear it
everyday.
b. Recommendations
The security guard in the guard house must escort the visitors of the school to the office or any
personnel or officers who accomodated the transactions or any personnel without (ID) and
continue to monitor it ot have safety in everything.
4. Protective lighting:
a. Situation(s)
During the survey the 4th floor Area has 4 flourescent bulb each room.

b. Recommendation(s)
During the survey at the 4th floor area i don’t see if there’s an emergency light.
And I recommend to put the stairs area so that in case of emergency like if there’s classes in
night time, also to ensure proper placement of lighting fixtures in order to reduce shadows and
blind spots.
5. Alarms and Communication system:
a. Situation(s)
During the survey, we observed that the 4th floor area we don’t see smoke detector, heat
detector and fire alarm panel.
b. Recommendation(s)
It is advised to install a fire alarm system, smoke detector, and water sprinkler in the designated
area in order to enhance safety measures.
6. Restricted Areas:
a. Situation(s)
The perimeter in front of the chapel adjacent to the statue in cordoned off by a railings ,
presumbaly to elicit a sense of caution among individuals in close proximity. The left side of the
chapel displays a sign indicating that parking is prohibited unless the individual specified therein
is prsent, upon examining the 4th floor, no indications of prohibitive measures or constrains were
observed.
b. Recommendation(s)
It is strongly advised by the team to implement the placement of signage in all restricted
areas, particularly on 4th fllor near the stairs where personnel have resorted to using a thick
piece of wood to block access. Additionally, it is recommended to place a restricted signs on
windows without grills to prevent unauthorized entry.
7. Storage Security:
a. Situation(s)
During the survey the key of each room is safe-kept by the Security Guard-on-duty.
b. Recommendations:
It is recommended that the key box will be equipped with lock system, so that keys for
Classrooms can only are pulled out and/ or utilization will be controlled by proper authorization.
8. Utilities:
a. Situation(s)
During the survey, two (2) unit of fire extinguisher is observed located at the 4 th Floor area,
near the stairway area which is essential to safety support equipment in case of fire. There is
only 1 CCTV camera unit supplement security monitoring at the Front of Stairway area.
b. Recommendation(s)
It is recommended to have additional CCTV Camera in front of Each Room to secure the
safety of Students to identify bottleneck areas on the school premises.
9. Emergency plans:
a. Situation(s)
During the survey, it is observed that emergency evacuation plans are posted in common
areas in all floors for the awareness of the staffs and students in the buildings.
b. Recommendations
On the basis of the team’s analysis, it is suggested that emergency exit signage be
strategically located in a highly visible area to ensure maximum legibility for all individual.
D. PERSONNEL SECURITY

2. Clearance Program
a. Situations
In team’s observations about personnel the areas where we conduct our survey. The
school director established an program that regularly inspect and maintain the physical
condition of the areas ensuring that is clean, and safe.
b. Recommendations
The program should continue to the area and conduct backgrounds checks on individual
who have regular access in the area. This helps ensure that individuals with a history of criminal
behavior or misconduct are not granted clearance.
3. Security Education Program
a. Situations
The area lacks fire safety program, and about protection of personal belongings theres
in a highed chances of losing belongings because of having a poor security education.
b. Recommendations
Promote the use secure padlocks especially in a storage room to prevent losing an
belongings, Next is the security Orientation, this oreintation should cover the importance of
security basic safety procedures.
E. DOCUMENT AND INFORMATION SECURITY
1. Based on the team observations, the 4th floor area designated personnel are tasked with
various duties such as organizing the seating arrangement, maintaining cleanliness by sweeping
the fllor, and ensuring that no students are left behind in that premises.
b. Recommendations
* Training and Awareness : Conduct reular traing sessions to educate personnel on the
handling, protection, and classified information within the area. This ensures that individuals
understand their responsibilities and are aware of potential security risks.
* Regular Security Audits : Conduct periodic security audits and inspections of the chapel
area to identify vulnerabilities, assess compliance with security protocols and imlement
necessary improvements.
* Security Clearance : Ensure that individuals accessing the chapek area have the necessary
security clearance commensurate with the level of classified information present.
* Marking Handling : Establish protocols for marking, handlings, and tansporting classifies
materials within the classroom. This includes proper labeling, handling procedures, and
restrictios on electrical devices.
* Physical security measures : Implement appropriate physical security measures, such as
surveillance cameras, alarms systems, or access control mechanisms, to prevent unauthorized
entry or tampering.
F. OTHER SITUATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
a. Situation(s)
The Fourth Floor of the building, it appears it appears to be quite spacious with minimal seating
arrangements in each room. Additionaly, the weather conditions seem to be consistently breezy
due to the absence of window grills.
b. Recommendation(s)
Based on the team observations, the fourth floor area experience respiratory distress. As a
result, the investigative team suggests the installation of a minimum of one water vending
machine to alleviate the inconvenience of descending to the first floor for a single purchase.
G. EXHIBITS/NCLOSURE
Based on our team’s survy, these are the findings that we have collected:
Based on the available information, it appears that 4th Floor Area is the subject of investigation.
The rooms must possess certain feature such as adequate lighting, a reliable source of electricty,
windows, restricted access, an evacuation plan, and functioning fire alarm. It is imperative that
students are aware of these features and pay close attention to them.

II.SECURITY INSPECTION REPORT


A. INTRODUCTION
1. Authority
The authorization of the survey and inspection was highly granted using formal authorized
letter signed by the subject instructor. The first security inspection was on May 22 th, 2023 at
0800H, the second was on May 23th, 2023, at 0800H, the last was on May 24 th 2023 at 1400H.

C. RECOMMENDATIONS
a. We recommend to put additional CCTV cameras cause effective of security to keep student
safety the forefront and can be used to identify bottleneck areas on the school premises.
b. We recommend also to put emergency light it is very important feature of safe schools design
and practice it's important to keep it maintain to a high standard to make sure it always working
when it is supposed to.
