Con la preformazione si
acquisiscono i seguenti
vantaggi:
a) quando la fune viene tagliata
i trefoli non si svolgono e non
sono quindi necessarie
legature o saldature
b) migliora il comportamento a
fatica della fune
c) i fili, in caso di rottura,
mantengono la loro posizione
d) sono facilitati il maneggio e
lesecuzione di impalmature,
manicottature, ecc.
Nella produzione di cavi
speciali, questa operazione
non viene eseguita al fine di
conferire alla fune
maggior stabilit e compattezza.

SPIROIDALE
OPEN SPIRAL STRAND
Senso di avvolgimento
Il senso di avvolgimento , per
definizione, riferito ai fili esterni
rispetto ai trefoli (o funi
spiroidali) e dei trefoli rispetto
alla fune, secondo EN 12385.
Z = avvolgimento destro.
S = avvolgimento sinistro.
Nel caso di funi a trefoli si
impiegano due lettere con
altezza di carattere differente.
La prima, pi piccola, indica il
senso di trefolatura dei fili
esterni nei trefoli.
La seconda, pi alta, indica il
senso di cordatura dei trefoli
nella fune.
Lay direction
In accordance with EN 12385 the
lay direction always refers to the
direction of the external wires
compared to that of the strands
(or spiral strand wires) and of the
strands compared to the rope.
Z = right lay.
S = left lay.
In case of stranded ropes above
mentioned letters are used with
different sizes. The first, smaller
letter indicates the lay direction
of the external wires of the
strands. The second bigger
letter indicates the lay direction
of the strands in the rope.

Prestiratura
ALLUNGAMENTO% / ELONGATION%
l prestiratura statica:
si esegue a carichi di circa il
50% della forza di rottura con
una serie di cicli di carico,
permanenza del carico per un
dato tempo, e scarico fino al
completo assestamento della
fune;
l prestiratura dinamica:
si esegue in linea alla
fabbricazione della fune su un
prestiratore posizionato prima
dellavvolgimento finale della
fune, con tensione che
generalmente 1/3 della forza
di rottura. In questo caso la
prestiratura composta da
sforzi di trazione e flessione che
rappresentano un effettivo
rodaggio della fune.
l dynamic pre-stretching:
is carried out in line during the
closing process of the steelwire
rope, with manufacturing of the
steelwire rope on a prestretcher positioned before the
final rope lay, with a tension
that, in general, is 1/3 of the
breaking force. In this case prestretching consists of tractive
forces and bending that
represents an actual break-in
of the rope.
static pre-stretching:
is carried out at approx. 50%
of the breaking force with a
series of load cycles,
permanence of load for a
certain time, and unloading until
complete bedding of rope
occurs;

Tamburi multistrato
Lavvolgimento multiplo richiede
che le spire siano serrate ed in
tensione; quindi, il passo delle
stesse, deve essere prossimo
per eccesso alla tolleranza
massima della fune e la
tensione di avvolgimento deve
essere circa il 2% della forza di
rottura della fune, e langolo tra
la fune ed il piano delle flange
deve essere compreso tra
0,25 e 1,75.
Multi-layer winches
Multiple lays require that the
winding of the spires is
tightened and under tension.
The pitch of the spires must be
slightly in excess of the
diameter tolerance of the rope
and the lay tension must be
approx. 2% of the breaking
force of the rope and the angle
between the steelwire rope and
the area of the flanges must be
between 0.25 and 1.75.

Il corretto dimensionamento
della gola fondamentale
rispetto alla durata in servizio.
Il fondo della gola deve essere
maggiore del diametro nominale
della fune e deve essere liscio,
di forma circolare, privo di
impronte e scalini, e
perfettamente raccordato con i
fianchi. La gola non deve
impedire alla fune di potersi
deformare lateralmente e quindi
il suo diametro deve essere
sempre superiore a quello della
fune. In pratica il corretto
dimensionamento delle gole
deve essere (per funi aventi
19
calcolata convenzionalmente
con la formula:
P=
T1 + T2
Dd
where:
T1 + T2
Dd
P=
dove:
P = pressione specifica in
daN/cm2
T1 e T2 = sforzo della fune in
daN
D = diametro della puleggia in
cm
d = diametro della fune in cm
Il valore cos calcolato risulta
sempre inferiore alla pressione
effettiva, perch i punti di
contatto sono relativamente
pochi e variano secondo la fune
impiegata.
Per ottenere valori pi accurati
necessario considerare un
coefficiente dipendente dalla
tipologia di fune e
dallapplicazione specifica.
Riportiamo come esempio una
fune a sei trefoli tipo S10 ed una
fune antigiro tipo A4L con 12
trefoli esterni.

Avvolgimento su piccoli
diametri e durata
Esperienze su impianti in
funzione e prove di laboratorio
hanno dimostrato che, per funi
che lavorano in condizioni ideali,
la durata delle stesse dipende in
modo determinante dal carico di
lavoro e dallappropriata scelta
del rapporto D/d che non deve
mai scendere, anche per le funi
pi flessibili, sotto al valore di 16.
22
Experience of operating
systems and laboratory tests
have shown that the service life
of ropes used in ideal conditions
depends essentially on the work
load and correct choice of D/d
ratio which must never fall below
16, even for the most flexible
ropes.

l Morsetti
Per ottenere la massima
efficienza si raccomanda di:
Clips
For maximum efficiency:
Position the clips correctly.
Incorrect assembly of these
clips can reduce the
performance of the socket by
60% with reference to the ropes
breaking force.
Manicotto in alluminio
cilindrico o tronco-conico.
Lasola fissata mediante un
manicotto pressato. Questo
metodo sconsigliato solo in
presenza di temperature
particolarmente elevate e
concentrate in prossimit del
manicotto (max 100 C).
l
Manicotto acciaio
Manicotto di acciaio pressato
per chiusura dellasola ottenuta
intrecciando i trefoli.
l
Cylindrical or conical
aluminium ferrule
The slot is fixed using a pressed
clamp. This method is not
recommended only in extremely
high temperature conditions
concentrated close to the clamp
(max. 100 C).
l
l Steel ferrule
Forged steel ferrule to close the
slot resulting from the
intertwining of strands.
l Impalmatura a mano
un metodo tradizionale in cui
dopo la formazione dellasola il
capo della fune fissato
intrecciando i trefoli nella fune.
Si presenta quindi senza
manicotti.
l Hand splicing
This is a traditional method
where the rope end is fixed by
splicing the strands in the rope
after the slot has been formed. It
does not have a clamp.

Istruzioni per la
messa in opera delle
funi
Instructions for
installation of wire

Replacing ropes
Se la fune confezionata su
bobina o crocera, si passer nel
suo foro una barra di diametro e
lunghezza opportuni e si
poseranno le estremit della
barra su due cavalletti; si tira in
seguito il capo della fune
svolgendola, facendo attenzione
che la fune non si allenti sulla
bobina.
Se la fune confezionata in
rotolo, la si metter su un aspo
e poi la si svolger tirandola per
il capo esterno, in modo che il
rotolo giri intorno al proprio
asse.
Se il rotolo di piccola
dimensione si pu procedere
allo svolgimento tenendo fermo
a terra il capo esterno della fune
e svolgendola girando sul
terreno il rotolo tenuto verticale.
SVOLGIMENTO CORRETTO
CORRECT WINDING
It is extremely important to
check that the sheaves rotate
freely without excessive
clearance; if needed, replace
the bearing or bushings.
If the rope is wound around a
winch (grooved or smooth) and
the rope is multi-layered, the
spires of the first layer must be
wound very tightly together,
keeping the rope under
minimum tension during the
winding operation so as to avoid
overlapping and anomalous
operation of the machine.
If the old rope is used to pull the
new one through the various
sheaves in the system, it is
important to ensure that any
anomalous twisting of the old
rope is not conveyed to the new
one, causing irregular internal
tension which could jeopardise
the service life of the new rope
or even cause the core to bulge
or come out.
The ends of the two ropes must
not be directly joined together
(e.g. welding them together to
with clamps). An object able to
absorb torsions should be
placed between the old and new
rope (e.g. a section of fibre rope
connected to the ends of the
ropes with clamps or rope-sock).

Principali caratteristiche
delle funi Crystalflex:
eccellente resistenza alla
fatica superiore del 40%
rispetto funi tradizionali;
elevata forza di rottura
(comparabile alle funi in
anima metallica IWRC);
resistenza alle alte
temperature;
lanima in fibra fornisce un
perfetto supporto per i trefoli
esterni della fune
consentendo di mantenere
alla fune stessa una perfetta
geometria anche se sottoposta
a pesanti cicli di lavoro (bassa
riduzione di diametro);
superiore resistenza alla
corrosione anche in
determinate condizioni
ambientali;
importante riduzione della
frizione tra trefoli esterni
metallici e anima in fibra.
Main characteristics of
Crystalflex ropes:
excellent fatigue resistance
higher than 40% respect
traditional ropes;
high Breaking Force (comparable
to steel core rope IWRC);
resistance to high temperature;
rope core provides excellent
support to the outer strands
maintaining perfect rope
shape under heavy working
cycles (low diameter reduction);
low internal corrosion in case
of use in aggressive
environments;
significant reduction of friction
among outer metallic strands
and fiber core.
