SANREMO

2.Il Festival della canzone italiana, più comunemente Festival di Sanremo (per semplicità anche solo
Sanremo), è un festival musicale che si tiene ogni anno in Italia, a Sanremo, a partire dal 1951.

Questo punto rappresenta la città di Sanremo. Vi hanno preso parte come concorrenti, ospiti o
compositori, molti dei personaggi più noti della musica leggera italiana ed è considerato uno dei
più importanti e longevi festival musicali al mondo. (The Italian Song Festival, more commonly the
Sanremo Festival (for simplicity also just Sanremo), is a music festival held every year in Italy, in

4. Il festival cambia ogni anno, poiché la sua organizzazione è affidata a diversi direttori artistici. Il
direttore artistico è anche il cerimoniere ed è lui a scegliere la location, le canzoni e gli ospiti che
prenderanno parte alle cinque serate dello spettacolo. È responsabile di tutti gli aspetti dello
spettacolo. Questo gioioso concorso canoro si svolge a febbraio. Molti cantanti stanno
partecipando a questa importante rassegna canora, presentando le loro canzoni, incentrate
principalmente sul tema dell'amore, anche se non mancano anche alcune “canzoni sociali”
incentrate su temi sociali più attuali. (The festival changes every year, as its organization is entrusted
to different artistic directors. The artistic director is also the master of ceremonies and it is he who
chooses the location, the songs and the guests taking part in the five evenings of the show. He is

5. Rappresenta uno dei principali eventi mediatici italiani, con un certo riscontro anche all'estero, in
quanto viene trasmesso in diretta sia televisiva, sulla Rai e in Eurovisione, sia radiofonica. Al
vincitore o alla vincitrice del Festival viene consegnata la statuetta del Leone di Sanremo, simbolo
dello stemma comunale, che è il riconoscimento più prestigioso per i musicisti e gli interpreti

6. A decretare il vincitore sarà il televoto, il pubblico invierà un messaggio o chiamerà un numero

utilizzato appositamente per l'occasione con il nome del proprio cantante preferito. C'è poi anche
una giuria composta da giornalisti e critici che votano secondo loro il miglior cantante. Molti famosi
cantanti italiani, come Laura Pausini ed Eros Ramazzotti, hanno iniziato la loro brillante carriera sul
palco di Sanremo. (The winner is decided by the televote, audience send a message or call a number
used just for the occasion with the name of their favourite singer. Then there is also a jury composed
by journalists and crytics who vote the best singer according to them. Many famous Italian singers
such as Laura Pausini and Eros Ramazzotti, started their brilliant careers on the Sanremo stage.)

7.Sanremo, però, è un evento annuale spettacolare non solo per noi italiani che viviamo qui, ma
gioca un ruolo importante anche per tanti stranieri che vivono all'estero. Dato che sono moltissimi
gli italiani che vivono all'estero, il festival di Sanremo viene trasmesso in televisione in tutto il
mondo per permettere a tutte queste persone di guardarlo facilmente. In questo modo molti
stranieri hanno potuto assistere a questa festa e se ne sono interessati. Sanremo ha conquistato il
cuore di tanti appassionati stranieri, che proprio attraverso questo evento hanno avuto modo di
conoscere le migliori voci del panorama musicale italiano. “Volare” la mitica canzone di Domenico
Modugno è famosa in tutto il mondo. (Sanremo, however, is a spectacular annual event not only for
us Italians who live here, but it plays an important role also for many foreign people living abroad.

8. Vincendo l'ottavo Festival di Sanremo, la canzone fu scelta come voce italiana all'Eurovision Song
Contest nel 1958, dove arrivò al terzo posto su dieci canzoni in totale. Le vendite combinate di tutte
le versioni della canzone superano i 18 milioni di copie in tutto il mondo, rendendola una delle
canzoni più popolari di tutti i tempi uscite da Sanremo e dall'Eurovision.( Winning the eighth
