TWINSPLICER®
La tendenza ai filati speciali non ci ha trovato impreparati, ma
pronti immediatamente a proporre addirittura soluzioni uniche.
I filati “compatti” che stanno prendendo sempre più piede
necessitano di una annodatura speciale tale da non provocare un
difetto su un filato che poco perdona agli interventi di
annodatura.
ORION risponde con l’utilizzo del Twinsplicer che realizza giunte
non distinguibili dal filato originale con CV di resistenza identico
al filato originale.
I core yarns (cotone/elastomero) ormai inseriti nel campo della
moda e tecnico, sono si giuntabili con airsplicer, ma per avere
garanzia di “giunta completa di elastomero” si deve usare il
Twinsplicer.
Il fashion denim (fiammato, stretch, stone washed) è tornato ad
usare il filato ring, di conseguenza le rocche prodotte annoverano
un maggior numero di giunte rispetto al medesimo su open end.
Anche in questo caso, la tranquillità del cliente viene soddisfatta
dal Twinsplicer.

The trend for special yarns has not caught us unawares but ready
with some unique solutions.
The “compact” yarns that are becoming more and more popular
require special knotting which, if not done properly, can be seen.
ORION retorts with the Twinsplicer whose splices cannot be
distinguished from the original yarn with a CV strength equal to that
of the original yarn.
Core yarns (cotton/elastomer), now very much part of the fashion
and technical world, can be spliced with the airsplicer but the
Twinsplicer has to be used if we want to guarantee a “complete
splicing of the elastomer”.
Denim (fancy,stretch,stone washed) has gone back to using ring yarn,
consequently the packages produced will have a greater number of
splices compared to open end production.
In this case too customer satisfaction is achieved using Twinsplicer.

Le giunzioni splicer nella filatura “compatta”
I recenti sviluppi della filatura compatta, hanno messo in evidenza
la diversa struttura che il filato assume durante il processo di
filatura.
La letteratura tecnica al riguardo, insieme alle informazioni
commerciali prodotte dai costruttori di filatoi compatti
esprimono chiaramente i risultati finali di questo tipo di filato.
Desideriamo però riprendere alcuni concetti per meglio chiarire
ed evidenziare le esigenze di detti filati nel processo di roccatura
e specificatamente nel processo di giunzione.
Come illustrato in figura 1 al termine del processo di stiro esiste
in generale un ulteriore campo di pretensione e depressione dove
le fibre stirate, ma non ancora torsionate, vengono “condensate”
attraverso un’azione meccanica e pneumatica. Il risultato di
quanto detto è visibile schematicamente in figura 3.

Splices in “compact” spinning
Recent developments in compact spinning have shown the different
structure yarn assumes during spinning.
Technical literature on this subject, together with the commercial
information produced by compact spinning machine manufacturers,
clearly describe the final results of this type of yarn. But we wish to
point out some of the concepts to better understand and highlight the
requirements of such yarns in winding and above all in splicing.
As illustrated in Figure 1, at the end of the straightening process there
is generally another pretension and vacuum field where the
straightened but not yet twisted fibres are “condensed” by means of a
mechanical and pneumatic action.
The result of this is schematically visible in Figure 3.

Il risultato finale dimostra che il filato compatto ha minor pelosità,
maggior resistenza, migliore mano ed è esteticamente migliore.
Pertanto l’aspetto più regolare del filato viene ad evidenziare due
problematiche inerenti le giunzioni:
• l’aspetto della giunta che su un filato condensato viene
risaltato in modo evidente;
• difficoltà di giunzione ad aria non essendo presenti quelle
fibre volanti “esterne” che contribuiscono ad una corretta
apertura e miscelazione della giunta stessa.
Ne consegue che una giunta standard sul filato compatto
rappresenta un difetto.
Difetto estetico
Difetto di resistenza
Difetto di ripetitività.
Il Twinsplicer Savio è l’unico sistema di giunzione che può
garantire il mantenimento della qualità del filato compatto.

The final result shows that the yarn is less hairy, more resistant, has a
better texture and a better aesthetic quality.
Consequently, the more regular aspect of the yarn leads to two splicing-
related problems:
• the splice is evident on condensed yarn;
• air splicing is difficult as there are none of the “external”
free fibres that help achieve correct opening and blending
of the splice.
And the result is:
a standard splice on a compact yarn is a defect
an aesthetic defect
a strength defect
a repetitivity defect.
The Savio Twinsplicer is the only splicing system that can guarantee
the quality of a compact yarn.

Air splicer
Aquasplicer
La giunzione ad aria si basa invece sull’azione pneumatica che (per la
natura stessa della sua origine) non potrà mai essere precisa e
ripetitiva testa per testa e nel tempo; ma soprattutto poi perchè la
giunzione è effettuata senza il controllo delle fibre ma solo con un
mescolamento random delle stesse nella camera di giunzione.
Nel campo della giunzione ad aria, Savio ha comunque ulteriormente
sviluppato uno splicer ad azione combinata ad aria ed acqua,
particolarmente efficace per i filati compatti, dove quest’ultima viene
controllata ed iniettata nella camera di giunzione che essendo com-
pletamente stagna garantisce le rimanenti parti della testa di
roccatura da dannosi inquinamenti.
Questo dispositivo messo a punto nella roccatura e giunzione del
lino ha visto la Savio leader in questa particolare applicazione.
On the other hand, air
splicing is based on pneumatic action
that can never be accurate and reproduceable head
by head or over time due to the nature of its origin and, most of all,
because splicing is done without any control of the fibres which are
randomly mixed in the splicing chamber.
In the field of non-mechanical splicing, Savio has designed a combined
air/water splicer, the water being controlled and injected in the spli-
cing chamber which is completely waterproof and protected from the
external environment.
With this device, perfected for winding and splicing flax, Savio finds
itself the leader in this particular sector.

Ma se da un lato possiamo dire che il Twinsplicer è la scelta
obbligata per il filato a condensazione ci piace richiamare ancora
una volta l’attenzione sulle particolari ma non meno importanti
applicazioni del Twinsplicer per quanto concerne:
• core yarn (cotone + elastomero) rappresentando l’ideale
possibilità di giunzione senza difetti che poi si evidenziano nelle
lavorazioni od utilizzi successivi;
• filati ring per denim (Ne 5÷7) dove viene richiesta una
resistenza ed affidabilità di giunta elevatissima con rese ai telai
che aumentano di qualche punto percentuale.

applications as regards:
