By car
Ancona is easy to reach taking A14 motorway, and then 16 Adriatica high-
way, crossroads between the capital and all the coastal towns of the region.
Arriving from central Italy take the superhighway SS76 Val d’Esino, modern
4-lane highway, which connects Ancona with Rome and Umbria.
By train
The main rail connections are made by the State Railways (info: www.tren-
italia.it ) and a network of local trains. In addition to the central station, An-
cona has other smaller stations, such as Ancona Marittima for those who
must reach the port of Ancona, Ancona Torrette to reach the Regional Hos-
pital or the University, the station of Palombina, active only during the sum-
mer to allow the connection to the beaches and the station of Ancona
Varano, very close to Del Conero and the Palarossini stadiums, therefore
perfect during sports events.
