La stabilità del pendio è valutata calcolando il coefficiente di sicurezza “FS”. Il FS del pendio è stato calcolato

utilizzando il metodo della riduzione della resistenza “Strength Reduction Method”. Nel metodo di riduzione

della forza, l'angolo di attrito e la coesione viene ridotta in modo incrementale dello stesso fattore per

determinare il fattore di sicurezza come mostrato nell'equazione :

dove C e φ sono rispettivamente la coesione e l'angolo di attrito del terreno e Cr e φ'r sono la coesione e

l’angolo di attrito ridotti, che sono controllati dal moltiplicatore totale ∑Msf. Questo parametro viene

aumentato in una procedura al passo fino a quando non si verifica una non convergenza. Il FS è quindi

determinato come il valore di ∑Msf alla condizione di rottura.

Le condizioni di stabilità globale sono state valute nei seguenti casi:
