Lord Krishna is the deity of religious establishment.
Avatar
Lord Krishna is the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He is also known as Poornavatara as he
consists of sixteen arts.
A related river
Yamuna river has an inseparable connection with Lord Krishna. Yamuna has more Krishna
Tattva. Her complexion is dark like that of Lord Krishna. Yamuna is also known as 'Kalindi'.
Chakras associated with Kundalini
The Anahata Chakra of Kundalini is associated with Lord Krishna.

Wednesday is Vitthal's day. Shri Vitthala is the incarnation of Lord Krishna in Kali Yuga.

Gokula, Vrindavan, Mathure, Dwarka and Jagannathpuri are temples associated with Lord

Devakinandana, Yashodanandana and Nandanandana
As the son of Devaki, Yashoda and Nandaraja, he got the names Devakinandana,
Yashodanandana and Nandanandana respectively. Vasudeva was the birth father of Lord
Krishna. Devaki is the mother who gave birth to Lord Krishna. When Vasudeva took Lord
Krishna from Mathura to Gokula, Nandaraja and Yashoda took care of Lord Krishna. So
Yashoda became Lord Krishna's foster mother and Nandaraja became Lord Krishna's foster
father. Therefore, Lord Krishna was also the son of Vasudeva, Devaki, Yashoda and Nandaraja.
Vasudeva and Vasudevasuta
Lord Krishna's birth father's name was Vasudeva. He is called 'Vasudeva' as the son of
Vasudeva. He is also known as 'Vasudevasuta' as he is the son of Vasudeva.
Shyamsunder
Lord Krishna's color was dark blue or pitch black. That is why he got the name 'Shyam'. He was
very handsome to look at in spite of his complexion; That is why he is also known as
'Shyamsunder'.
Bansidhara and Muralidhara
Since Lord Krishna had a flute in his hand, he got the name 'Bansivala' or 'Bansidhara'. He is also
known as 'Muralidhara' as the flute is also known as Murali.
Gopal
As Lord Krishna protected the cows as Gollana, he got the name 'Gopala'.
Govinda
Lord Sri Krishna is called 'Govinda' because He resides in the heart of every living being in the
form of bliss.
Hrishikesh
Lord Krishna is the ultimate guide of all senses. That is why he is called 'Hrishikesh'. 'Hrishik'
means senses. Their Isha (Odeya) means Hrishikesh.
