Qualification’s Overview

The COMPUTER SYSTEMS SERVICING - NC II Qualification


consists of competencies that must possess to enable to
install and configure computers systems, set-up computer
networks and servers and to maintain and repair computer
systems and networks.
Course Overview

Nominal Training Duration:


40 hours (Basic Competencies)
80 hours (Common Competencies)
160 hours (Core Competencies)

What is

CBT?
Competency Based Training

- It is a training delivery approach that focuses on the


competencies development of the learner as a result of the
training.
- It focuses on outcomes rather than the learning process
within a specified time.
CBT Principles

1. The training is based on the curriculum developed from


the competency standards.
2. Learning is modular in its structure.
3. Training delivery is individualized and self-paced.
4. Training is based on work that must be performed.

5. Training materials are directly related to the competency


standards and curriculum modules.
6. Assessment is based on the collection of evidence of the
performance of work to the industry-required standards.
7. Training is based on and off-the-job components.

8. Training allows Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).


9. Training allows for multiple entry and exit.
10. Approved training programs are nationally accredited.
Roles of CBT Trainer

1. Serves as a team member to determine what is to be


learned.
2. Stimulates trainee motivation.
3. Evaluate learner’s achievement.
4. Diagnose and solves learning problems.
5. Assist learners to obtain individualized rewards.
Roles of CBT Trainee

1. Trainee evaluate their own progress to see how well they


are doing.
2. Trainees may select what they want to learn and when they
want to learn it, within reason.

3. Trainees learn according to their interests, needs and


abilities not according to teacher timelines and
expediency.
4. Trainees are responsible for what they learn and when
learn it.
