L’autoconsistenza
come condizione fondamentale
Abstract: A system is fundamental if it is not founded on other systems, that is, if it does not
presuppose any other system. This requires that it is irreducible to subsystems, and independent
of others systems. The first request is satisfied if the system is minimal (i.e. if it does not allow
sub-systems), the second if the system is self-consistent (i.e. if it is self-determined). According to the
general theory of systems, the minimal system consists of two parts between which there is a rela-
tionship. This system is self-consistent if each part is determined by its relationship with the other.
Representing the parts through functions, and their relationship through an operator, the condition
of self-consistency of the minimal system is expressed by an equation formally identical to the
equation of Dirac in the absence of potential. This suggests interpreting this equation as a condition
of self-consistency of the physical systems it describes.
Key words: Fundamental system, Self-consistency, Dirac equation.
