Mediterraneità è spesso sinonimo della capacità di
saper prendere spunti di diversa natura dalle culture
più disparate e di riuscire ad interpretarle per creare
nuovi paesaggi. Il risultato è una nuova realtà le cui
caratteristiche prime e più evidenti sono la solarità, il
calore e una apparente semplicità, sotto la quale si
cela però un attento uso dei componenti delle
lavorazioni e dei dettagli. I risultati sono prodotti che
coniugano l’artigianalità al sapere industriale per
elaborare collezioni di tono delicato ed informale.
Questo è l’asse sul quale ha lavorato Arketipo con le
collezioni EGADI e CICLADI di Gordon
Guillaumier con la collezione DECOBOCO dei
Nendo ed infine con la nuova proposta dei cuscini
YUKI e FULL COLOUR disegnati da Maria Porro.
Il risultato è tre modi diversi, ma affini di interpretare
il living room, tre proposte che si fondono in un
mondo, quello di Arketipo.

Mediterranean-ness often means the ability to adapt
different kinds of ideas from a wide variety of
cultures and then interpret them to create new
scenery. The result is a new reality, where the main
and most outstanding characteristics are radiance
and warmth, accompanied by an apparent simplicity
that actually hides the careful use of the various
elements and details. The results are products that
combine craftsmanship with industrial experience
and create collections with a light and informal style.
This was the basis of Arketipo's approach to the
EGADI and CICLADI collections by Gordon
Guillaumier, the DECOBOCO collection by
Nendo and, lastly, to the novel look of the YUKI and
FULL COLOUR cushions designed by Maria
Porro. The result is three different, but kindred, ways
of interpreting the living room, three ideas that are
merged in the world of Arketipo.

L’infinito e la leggerezza, l’eleganza fatta di segni e di
dettagli, questo è il mondo che i Nendo hanno
voluto rappresentare.
La collezione DECOBOCO vive infatti di prodotti
caratterizzati da una grafia semplice, lineare, come
nel divano DECOBOCO, tutta giocata sulle tre
differenti altezze dei cuscini di seduta o ripetitiva
come nella libreria TARGET in cui la moltiplicazione
delle croci di appoggio crea una quinta ideale alla
famiglia di imbottiti, un paesaggio che evoca
l’infinito. Intorno a questi segni, quasi come delle
pennellate grafiche, tre complementi: l’appendiabiti
EDA di ispirazione naturalistica, il tavolino MOYA
che crea un effetto ottico di infinito ottenuto dalla
trasparenza del piano su un fondo semisferico e i
tavolini di servizio LINK caratterizzati da un
disegno geometrico ripetuto alla Escher.
Il tappeto PARKING con i segni quasi di ispirazione
primitiva, ricamati a mano, sono l’ideale supporto
per una collezione con un carattere forte ma dal
segno delicato.

DECOBOCO
NENDO
Infinity and lightness, elegance expressed in signs and
details, this is the world that the Nendo want to
express.
In fact, the DECOBOCO collection by Nendo is
composed of products with a simple and linear style,
like the DECOBOCO sofa, which exploits the three
different heights of the seat cushions, or a repetitive
one, like the TARGET bookcase, where the
multiplication of the crosspieces makes an ideal
background for the family of upholstered furniture,
against a scene that evokes infinity. They are
surrounded, almost like brushstrokes, by three
accessories: the EDA coat stand, inspired by nature,
the small MOYA table, creating an optical illusion of
infinity thanks to its transparent top on a
hemispherical base, and the LINK occasional tables,
with an Escher-style repetitive geometrical design.
The PARKING rug, with hand-embroidered designs
of almost primitive inspiration, puts the finishing
touch to a collection with a strong yet gentle
personality.

GORDON GUILLAUMIER
CICLADI, l’incontro tra le proporzioni e le profondità
delle sedute orientali, le lavorazioni capitonné di
ispirazione anglosassone con le capacità artigianali di
lavorare i materiali italiani.
Questo è in sintesi la collezione CICLADI, ma è
soprattutto la capacità di impreziosire il dettaglio del
capitonné invece che con il classico bottone con una
cucitura a croce che rende l’esterno dell’imbottito
estremamente attuale. E’ anche la capacità però di
saper dare a CICLADI una eleganza che non vuole
essere gridata , ma neanche shabby, bensì misurata,
delicata ed informale, caratteristiche queste che
rappresentano i capisaldi della proposta living
Arketipo

CICLADI
CICLADI, the proportions and depth of oriental
seats, the capitonné work of Anglo-Saxon
inspiration and Italian handcraftsmanship all meet
here.
This is the essence of the CICLADI collection but
what really counts is the way the capitonné effect is
enhanced by using cross stitching instead of the
classic buttons, thus giving the furniture a very up-
to-date look, as well as the way elegance that is
neither showy nor shabby, but moderate, delicate
and informal, is displayed in CICLADI. These are the
strong points of the Arketipo living room
collection.

GORDON GUILLAUMIER
Gordon Guillaumier con EGADI svela in qualche
modo le sue origini maltesi, melting pot di abitudini e
tradizioni stratificate. EGADI è nel contempo anche la
rappresentazione di tutto il patrimonio di know how di
Arketipo. Il movimento è infatti da sempre sinonimo
dell’azienda fiorentina che nel tempo ha lavorato su
molteplici possibilità di ergonomie che offrono
infinite possibilità di utilizzare il divano.
Gordon Guillaumier ha voluto con EGADI non solo
trovare un tipo di movimento non ancora utilizzato -
l’apertura dello schienale a battente per raddoppiare la
sua estensione - ma ha scelto questa soluzione per
proporre da un punto di vista estetico qualcosa di
assolutamente diverso
Il divano chiuso assume infatti quelle proporzioni
classiche squadrate di design rigoroso con schienale
basso, ma dalle larghezze generose così come ampi
sono i braccioli per una seduta informale in cui non si
intuisce neanche l’esistenza del movimento.
Nell’aprire lo schienale, indipendente per ogni posto,
la sorpresa: la lavorazione pizzicata conferisce
improvvisamente al prodotto una estetica
completamente diversa . Ed è proprio nel binomio
tessuto con pelle all’interno dello schienale rialzato,
che il divano assume quelle caratteristiche che ne
fanno un prodotto senza tempo per una seduta che
abbina la contemporaneità ad un certo sapore di
tradizione per una pausa di assoluto relax.

EGADI
With EGADI, Gordon Guillaumier gives us a
glimpse of his origins in Malta, a melting pot of
customs and stratified traditions. And, at one and
the same time, EGADI also expresses all Arketipo's
know-how. Movement has always been important
for the Florentine firm and it has been
experimenting for some time with the multiple
possibilities of ergonomics that offer infinite ways
of using the sofa.
With EGADI, Gordon Guillaumier not only
wanted to find a type of movement never before
used –the back folds open to double its extension –
but he has also used this solution to create
something that looks entirely different.
When the sofa is closed it has the classic squared
proportions of strict design, with a low back yet
plenty of room and wide arms for an informal seat
where there is not even a suspicion of the existence
of the movement. The surprise comes when the
back is unfolded, separately for each seat: the pinch
quilting suddenly gives the article a completely
different look. And it is precisely the contrast of
fabric and leather inside the raised back that
transforms the sofa into a timeless piece of seating,
where contemporariness is mingled with a slight
hint of tradition for an absolutely relaxing rest.

 YUKI, FULL COLOUR
MARIA PORRO
YUKI, cuscino dalla forma caratteristica della mezza
manica di kimono di lino in tinta unita con due lati
aperti che lasciano intravedere l’interno di seta
stampata a piccoli flessuosi motivi. Dall’etnologia al
design, l’esperienza di scenografa e costumista teatrale
di Maria Porro infonde nei progetti la ricerca delle
contaminazioni culturali oltre che stilistiche.
FULL COLOUR è un cuscino di grande formato (in tre
dimensioni sia quadrate che rettangolare) di misto
lino stampato a grandi forme geometriche di colori
fluidi e di tono contrastante, liberamente ispirati alla
pittura astratta di Marc Rothko, abbinati in versioni
armoniosamente differenti su ciascuno dei due lati.

design puro, grazie alla sua attività di scenografa,

YUKI is a solid-colour linen cushion, shaped like a
kimono sleeve and open on two sides for just a peep
at the silk lining, printed with a dainty, curvy
pattern. From ethnology to design, Maria Porro's
experience as scenic artist and costume designer is
reflected in her quest for cultural as well as stylistic
influences.
FULL C OLOUR is a huge cushion (in three
dimensions, both squared and rectangular) in
mixed linen printed with big geometrical patterns
of fluid colours and contrasting shades, freely
inspired by Marc Rothko's abstract painting,
combined in different, yet harmonious, versions on
each side. Thanks to her work as a scenic artist, the
sensitivity expressed by Maria Porro is quite
different from pure design: it creates a new visual
language filled with hints of contemporary art.
