(VLE) apparatus newly built and tested according to the design of Van Ness and
c o w o r k er s . ( G i b b s et al . , 1 9 7 2 ; D i E l s i e t al . , 1 9 7 8 ) . E x p er i en c e h as b e e n g ai n ed i n
the past with such equipment as in Villamafi~in et al. (1984) or in Villamafi~in et al.
( 1 9 8 5 ) . A s a c o m p l e m e n t t o th t h e s e t u p , s o m e o f t h e e a r l y e x p e r i m e n t a l r e s u l ts
ts o f
binary mixtures containing methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) and/or substitution
hydrocarbons will be reported and discussed as well as the subsequent program of
study.
