1. GENERAL FEATURES

-Tubular screw conveyors are suited to draw, batch and handle concrete or concrete-like
materials.
-These conveyors have been developed according to all safety rules according to EC directives.
-They are available in different sizes in order to satisfy any capacity needs (139, 168, 193,
219, 273, 323)
-They are developed in big series and consist of interchangeable sectional parts being
connected one to each other by sturdy flangings to reach a total length approximately
equal to 12 - 13 metres.
-The extensions are equipped with sturdy in-between cast iron supports with plain bearing,
which is protected from wear by suitable seals as well as lubricated through special
lubricating points.
-The in-between splined bolt allows a quick coupling with the broached bushes welded at the
flight pipe end to occur creating in this way a perfectly balanced screw conveyor
movement.
-The standard flight is produced with reduced pitch at the inlet and normal pitch in the
remaining length, in order to avoid cloggings near the in-between supports and assure a
good functioning of the machine.
-The inspection doors are fixed to the screw conveyor pipe by the push of a bolt being screwed
on a bar, which levers on a protection welded on the pipe; such protection allows the door
to be fixed and hinders a water penetration in the inspection opening.
-Standard POFER reduction gear is directly splined on the flight shaft (at the inlet hatch) and is
equipped with an exclusive flanging contanining the seals.
-If the drive is mounted at the outlet, a head with an exclusive POFER sealing unit is mounted
at the inlet.
-Reduction gears are available with power from 1.1 kW to 15 kW and with reduction ratio 1/5,
1/7, 1/10, 1/15, 1/20 to meet different capacity needs.
-Only environment friendly paints are used according to the law being in force.
-A standard supply includes:
-cylindrical inlet and outlet hatches (one as inlet, one as outlet) with rubber coupling
edge;
-in-between flangings;
-inspection door under the inlet hatch and under every in-between support;
-in-between supports complete with lubricator and relevant protection;
-direct drive at the inlet;
-two lifting hooks for each screw conveyor piece;
-cable hose;
- chrome yellow RAL 1007 final painting; by request, different paintings can be carried
out;
-every conveyor is supplied with an EC declaration of compliance;
-adhesive labels indicating how to properly behave near dangerous areas.

FIG 4

The rubber coupling stop edge is obtained from hatch rolling before the hatch is welded on the screw
conveyor. In case of additional loose ordered hatches, they are always supplied with rolled edge and
rust preventing painting.

7. STANDARD DIMENSIONS OF INLET AND OUTLET
HATCHES
-Standard inlet and outlet hatches are cylindrical and have a rubber coupling edge.
-The outlet hatch cannot have a diameter being smaller than the screw conveyor one.
-No screw conveyors with dimensions being smaller than the reported ones (see table) can be
ordered, unless our technical department communicates its approval.

21. TECHNICAL FEATURES OF ELECTRIC MOTORS

STANDARD MOTORS:
-Construction (according to IEC rules) in B5 form.
-Winding insulation in F class.
-Protection: IP 55.
-Voltage 230/400 V up to 5.5 kW, 400/690 V in case of more than 5.5 kW.
-Network frequency: 50 Hz.
-4 Poles (for a rotation speed between: 14001450 rpm).
The motors being mounted on the screw conveyor are painted in the same colour of the latter, in the
event a rust preventing paint is needed, motors will separately be supplied.

LEADING MARK MOTORS (ABB OR SIEMENS):

-Construction (according to IEC rules) in B5 form.
-Winding insulation in F class, tropicalized.
This treatment allows a remarkable electric as well as mechanical resistance and also high yield
and long life. The insulation protects winding from irritating gases, vapours, dust, oil and high air
humidity.
-Protection: IP 55 on whole motor.
-4 Pole version (for a rotation speed of 14001450 rpm)
-Voltage with 50 Hz network frequency:
for motors up to 5.5 kW 230/400 Volts
for motors from 7.5 kW 400/690 Volts.
-Voltage with 60 Hz network frequency:
for motors up to 5.5 kW compresi 270/480* Volts
for motors from 7.5 kW 480/830* Volts.
Please, consider that with a 60Hz functioning, speed of rotation and motor power have an
increase of approximately 20%
*Variable tensions slightly being different according to the motor mark
Motor is prepainted by the manufacturer, in order to be used in both indoors or outdoors; it can
continuously function in environments with 85% relative humidity with a maximum external
temperature of +25C, for short periods, it can also function with a 100% relative humidity and a
temperature up to 30C.

22
23
24
On thsi painting, an additional rust preventing coat and paint in the same colour as the screw
conveyor is applied in case the motor is mounted on the screw conveyor, only a rust preventing
coat is applied in case of separately supplied motors.

Note: for motors having different features (double speed motors, explosion-proof, self-braking
motors, motors with special tensions, etc.), please contact POFER s.r.l.

The inspection door is easy to use and has a simple structure, it is placed near the inlet hatch and
every in-between support. Checks of the mechanical inner parts, their possible replacement in case of
wear or troubles as well as the inner cleaning of the screw conveyor after use can easily be carried
out.

23. LIFTING HOOKS

FIG 19

On any screw conveyor piece 2 lifting hooks are welded, they are useful to lift the screw
conveyor for both transporting it or fixing it by possible tie rods.

24. LUBRICATOR PROTECTION

FIG 20

The in-between support lubricator protection is supplied with every screw conveyor and is painted in
the same colour as the latter; in case it is supplied in loose conditions, as a spare part, it has a rust
preventing coat.
