Il futuro una scelta. Per Cassina il futuro rinnova le origini secondo un principio di continuit
e la convinzione dellesistenza di un processo dinamico di mutazione di forme esistenti.
In un certo senso tutto gi esiste. Non si tratta di una negazione dellinnovazione ma della
consapevolezza dellesistenza di una dinamica evolutiva. In ogni nuovo progetto una frazione
mutante impone delle conseguenze a volte innitesimali a volte dirompenti.
Nuove riessioni portano a creazioni inedite e occhi diversi permettono di osservare
ci che gi presente e trasformarlo facendone emergere aspetti inesplorati.
Attraverso sovrapposizioni concettuali, di tessiture, di genere.
Le novit 2016 sono riessioni sulla societ contemporanea e sui suoi riverberi
4 nel mondo delle forme. Visioni uide e gender sensitive ad esempio per spazi
dai contenuti variabili. Gender di Patricia Urquiola una poltrona dallidentit mutevole

architettonicamente uno spazio-conversazione aperto a molteplici elementi di seduta e di
appoggio aggregabili. Un divano fortemente Cassina che richiama la memoria magica delle
tecnologia nascoste che rendono essibili i classici imbottiti di Magistretti, suo riferimento
emozionale. Non solo. Le evoluzioni delle matrici preesistenti sottolineano ancora una
volta il valore di un work in progress che spesso i designer perseguono su un modello gi in
collezione. il caso di chi rilegge i propri progetti come Piero Lissoni con i tavoli e tavolini 9,
Rodolfo Dordoni che rinnova dimensioni e gamma cromatica dei tavoli Boboli e soprattutto
di Philippe Starck che, da un lato, amplia le niture dei modelli Caprice e Passion e, dallaltro,
d vita a un modello nuovo con il divano Volage EXS per un extra soft confort sempre pi
raffinato. Ma anche il caso di Ora Ito che dalla suggestioni di un modello di Ico Parisi
degli anni 60 fa scaturire la sedia Ico , raffinata prova di falegnameria MedaMade.
Le riletture declinano nella contemporaneit modelli del passato: un nuovo rivestimento
sartoriale per il tavolino Guridon J.M. di Charlotte Perriand, e un nuovo rivestimento pregiato
per la poltrona Utrecht C90 Limited edition BoxBlocks, disegnato su misura da Bertjan Pot
per una delle icone del catalogo Cassina scelte per il progetto C90 MutAzioni per il 90
