God looked down on the earth and saw that people were becoming more and more evil. He was so sad that He said, I will destroy man that I have created.

God then told Noah, Bring seven pairs of each clean animal and one pair of each unclean animal on board the ark. Also bring in seven pairs of each kind of bird. Noah did as God said. Then Noah entered the ark with his wife, his sons and his sons wives. Once they were on board, God closed the door.

Then it began to rain and it kept raining for forty days and forty nights. The water rose and lifted the ark off the ground. The water kept rising and the ark started to float. The water rose yet more, until even the highest mountains were covered by the great flood.

Then Noah, his wife, his sons and his sons wives all went out of the ark. The animals and birds also went out from the ark with their families. God blessed Noah and his sons. He told them, "I am putting a rainbow in the sky as a sign of My promise to never send a flood of water to cover the whole earth again."
