Sin dalla sua fondazione, Venini ha assiduamente portato avanti una sfida nella ricerca del fondere la tradizione con linnovazione, un tema senza tempo. Loggetto creato per celebrare il novantesimo anniversario di Venini simboleggia lo stimato spirito creativo dellazienda come un incontro tra la millenaria tradizione del vetro darte Veneziano e la forma pura e geometrica. Loggetto composto da tre elementi della stessa forma. Questi elementi sono delle colonne triangolari con superficie curva, generata dallinversione dei triangoli isosceli tra la parte superiore e inferiore delloggetto. Questa semplice operazione geometrica, unitamente alla purezza che contraddistingue il vetro Venini, crea un opera in vetro dal carattere completamente nuovo. Unendo tre elementi in varie combinazioni, gli oggetti di vetro acquistano unespressione diversa con la luce. La tradizione del vetro darte veneziano, che stata mantenuta per pi di mille anni, continuer certamente a vivere grazie a ulteriori incontri con design innovativi ed illuminanti.
From the time of its establishment, Venini has continued to boldly take on challenges in its pursuit of the timeless theme to fuse tradition with innovation. The objet made to commemorate Veninis 90th anniversary symbolizes Veninis esteemed creative spirit as an encounter between the 1000-year-old traditional Venetian glass craft techniques and pure geometric form. The object is composed of three elements of the same shape. These elements are triangular columns with curved surfaces that are generated from inverting isosceles triangles between the top and bottom of the shaft. The simple geometric operation conducted on the distinctively textured Venetian glass creates a glass product of a completely new character. By bringing together three of these elements in various arrangements, glass objects are made that take on different expressions with the light. The Venetian glass tradition, that has been maintained for a thousand years, will surely continue to live on through its further encounters with fresh, inspirational designs.

Esistono, nei vari ambienti creativi, figure che talvolta, segnano la loro epoca, lasciando ai contemporanei un messaggio che pu essere considerato come una testimonianza della loro audacia e della forza del loro pensiero. TADAO ANDO una di queste. Larditezza del progetto e la convinzione da parte di VENINI di trovarsi in un particolare momento storico, hanno permesso di realizzare unopera unica e riconoscibile sovvertendo le abitudini consolidate nel vetro di Murano. LArchitetto Giapponese non ha mai precedentemente lavorato per lindustria. Per questo VENINI vuole dare un particolare rilievo a questa iniziativa che perfettamente si colloca nella ricorrenza del novantesimo anniversario della sua fondazione. Tadao Ando e VENINI in questo progetto, riconoscendosi nella loro reciproca notoriet, vogliono testimoniare il loro anticipo sulla propria epoca, proponendo uninnovazione che vera essenza dellarchitettura e dellarte vetraria.
In the most various creative branches, sometimes there are personalities that stand out in particular, leaving a precise mark to their contemporaries. A message that can be considered as a proof of their audacity and of the strength of their thoughts. TADAO ANDO is among these. The boldness of this project and VENINIs firm belief of being in a particular historical moment, allowed the realization of a unique work, recognizable by subverting the traditional Murano glass habits. The Japanese Architect has never worked for a firm before. Thats why VENINI wants to underline particularly this initiative, which fits perfectly the celebrations of VENINIs ninetieth anniversary. Tadao Ando and VENINI, in this project, recognize reciprocally their fame, giving particular evidence of the mark they will leave to these times, suggesting an innovation which is the essence of architecture and glass. Work realized with hand-made and blown glass, consisting of three different elements. Each is a triangular column with curved surfaces that are generated from inverting isosceles triangles between the top and bottom of the shaft. Limited Edition in 90 art pieces numbered in 30 works per color.

Ogni opera formata da un trittico di sculture/vasi, ognuno rifinito con una tecnica di molatura diversa: Rosetta: tramite una ruota diamantata, si ottengono numerose piccole geometrie, che rendono la superficie irregolare e la caratterizzano con giochi di luce. Ghiaccio: tramite la ruota diamantata si ottiene una superficie irregolare caratterizzata da una profonda battitura che conferisce alloggetto un effetto scolpito ghiaccio. Velato: tramite una leggera molatura, ottenuta grazie allutilizzo di nastri abrasivi, si crea una superficie caratterizzata da un effetto satinato. Saranno disponibili 9 Prove di Artista in colori e tecniche uniche. Le combinazioni di colore di ciascun trittico sono state scelte personalmente da TADAO ANDO.

Each work is composed of a triptych of separated elements, each finished with a different grinding technique: Rosetta: characterized by numerous small geometrical shapes obtained by grinding the surface with a diamond wheel in order to reach some particular light effects. Ghiaccio: characterized by an irregular surface obtained thanks to a deep grinding that gives to the object an engraved effect as it was Ice. Velato: characterized by a very light grinding, obtained thanks to the use of abrasive bands, in order to create a glazed surface. 9 further Proofs of Artist will be available in unique colors and techniques. The combination of the colors for each triptych has been chosen personally by TADAO ANDO.

The Art Piece numbered 1/9 will be sold by auction by the end of the year and the proceeds will be devolved to help in rebuilding a childhood educational structure in Japan.

VENINI 1921 2011, ovvero novantanni di passione nel vetro che portano riflessi nel marchio le sue pi pure caratteristiche: ricerca, innovazione, qualit. Fin dal suo nascere Venini si rivelata unassoluta protagonista nell'opera di rinnovamento e riqualificazione dell'arte del vetro veneziano, sinonimo di altissimo prestigio e di immutato fascino. Le pi attente e raffinate creativit ritrovano tra le centinaia di colori e tra le tecniche vetrarie in costante evoluzione un patrimonio che ulteriormente valorizzato dalla manualit della lavorazione. Una sintesi progettuale che in novantanni ha determinato un forte legame tra tutte le nuove creazioni e la storia del passato di Venini, riuscendo a trovare sempre un momento di riflessione per guardare al futuro e verso nuovi traguardi. Since its inception, Venini has revealed itself as a total protagonist in the process of renovating and re-qualifying the art of Venetian glassmaking, and a synonym for highest prestige and unaltered appeal.
