Come utilizzare tastiere con layout US

La sola differenza fra tastiere con layout ITA e tastiere con layout US è la disposizione
dei caratteri speciali e l’apparente assenza delle vocali accentate. Bastano alcuni
piccoli accorgimenti per risolvere questo problema.

Sarà innanzitutto necessario modificare alcune impostazioni nel PC:

• Per prima cosa andate su “Pannello di controllo” e da li cliccate su “Orologio e
opzioni internazionali” e infine su “Lingua”
• La prima cosa che vedrete è “preferenze di lingua”, ovviamente avrete “Italiano”.
• Rimuovete quella preferenza e createne una nuova utilizzando “English: United
States”.
• Dopo questa selezione sulla destra cliccate “opzioni” e lingua di input e selezionate
“Americano Internazionale”.

Dopo aver inserito le impostazioni indicate sopra, vi servirà sapere giusto qualche
trucchetto per utilizzare la tastiera al meglio:

• Le vocali accentate ottuse si fanno premendo prima il tasto ~ (quello vicino al tasto
numerico 1) e poi la vocale da accentare
• Le vocali accentate acute si fanno premendo prima il tasto ‘ (quello vicino al tasto
ENTER) e poi la vocale da accentare
• Per inserire un’apostrofo, dopo aver premuto il segno, dovete dare uno spazio alla
lettere successiva. Facendo un esempio se dovete scrivere “l’altro” dovrete pigiare i
tasti in questa sequenza: “L”—> ‘ —> “Barra spaziatrice” —> a.
• Le virgolette non vengono mostrate immediatamente a schermo, quindi dovrete
pigiare il tasto “ e dopo aver scritto la lettera successiva, o dopo aver dato uno spazio,
saranno visibili.
• Come le tastiere ITA se volete i tasti in seconda funzione dovrete premere “Shift”.
 How to use US layout keyboards
The only difference between keyboards with ITA layout and keyboards with US layout
is the arrangement of special characters and the apparent absence of accented
vowels. A few small tricks are enough to solve this problem.

You will first need to change some settings on your PC:

• First go to "Control Panel" and from there click on "Clock and international
options" and finally on "Language"
• The first thing you will see is "language preferences"
• Create a new preference one using “English: United States”.
• After this selection on the right click “options” and input language and select
“American International”.

After entering the settings above, you will need to know just a few tricks to use the
keyboard at its best:

• Obtuse accented vowels are made by first pressing the ~ key (the one next to the
number key 1) and then the vowel to be accented
• The acute accented vowels are made by first pressing the 'key (the one next to the
ENTER key) and then the vowel to be accented
• To insert an apostrophe, after pressing the sign, you must give a space to the next
letter. For example, if you have to write "the other" you will have to press the keys in
this sequence: "L" -> ‘->" Space bar "-> a.
• The quotation marks are not immediately shown on the screen, so you will have to
press the “key and after writing the next letter, or after giving a space, they will be
visible.
• Like the ITA keyboards, if you want the keys in second function you will have to press
"Shift".
