1 ITALIAN LANGUAGE CLASSES FOR BEGINNERS 1/09/2022

Our weekly sessions will include the following parts:

- Preparation before class (according to the previous assignments).
- Revision of the homework and open questions time.
- Explanation of new topics regarding grammar, vocabulary and useful expressions.
- Exercises, in particular grammar, speaking, writing, and reading.
- Assignments for the next class.
Do not hesitate to ask or contact me after class for any specific requests.
The sessions will take place on Teams.

ASSIGNMENTS FOR THE LESSON N.1

1. Please look at the following picture and try to learn by heart the Italian alphabet.

2. Please look at the image and find out the meaning of the words. You can do this by using
Reverso Context. There you can also hear how the words are pronounced.

3. And now the fun part: record yourself while reading the following extract from the book
‘Cion Cion Blu’ by Pinin Carpi (Piemme, Milano 2002).
In Cina vive un cinese vestito di blu e di arancione. I pantaloni sono blu e la giacca è arancione, le
pantofole sono blu e la giacca è arancione, in tasca il fazzoletto è arancione e la pipa è blu. I suoi capelli sono
blu, ma la faccia è arancione. Cion Cion ha un cane arancione e lo chiama Blu perché quando abbaia fa blu
blu blu. Ha un gatto blu e lo chiama A Ran Cion. Quando miagola, il gatto fa miao miao miao e quando fa le
fusa, fa ran ran ran. Poi Cion Cion ha un pesciolino nella vaschetta. Non è un pesciolino rosso, ma è blu. Lo
ha chiamato Blu, perché quando ha fame, il pesciolino fa blu blu blu con le bollicine. Quando chiama il cane,
però, arriva anche il pesciolino che salta fuori dalla vaschetta. Così lo chiama Bluino perché è piccolino.
