Questa nuova accensione Malossi concentra in s il massimo della tecnologia applicata alle competizioni degli scooter cross e velocit.
La nuova accensione a rotore interno nasce dallesigenza di ovviare alle limitazioni tecniche dei gruppi volano-accensione di origine che oltre i
10.000 giri/minuto non garantiscono una costanza di prestazione, provocando notevoli ed a volte insormontabili problemi di messa a punto dei
mezzi da competizione. La Malossi ha optato pertanto per una soluzione radicale del problema fornendo ai propri clienti unaccensione a rotore
interno completa di centralina ad anticipo variabile che assicura una costanza di prestazioni fino a 16.000 giri/minuto, ovviando in questo modo
a tutti i problemi dati dai gruppi di accensione originale.
La centralina dotata di un limitatore di giri regolabile per evitare rotture al motore. Per accedere al limitatore svitare le 4 viti presenti sulla
centralina (Fig. 1). Ruotando il trimmer con un cacciavite possibile spostare il limitatore da 11.600 a 13.000 giri, o escluderlo completamente.
Ogni click corrisponde a 100 giri (vedi Tabella 1 per i settaggi).

The new inner rotor ignition system designed by Malossi is based on the state-of-the-art technology applied to scooter cross and speed racing.
Such a new system resulted from the need to overcome the technical limitations imposed by conventional flywheel ignition, which cannot ensure
consistent performance over 10,000 rpm and causes severe setting-up problems for racing vehicles. After opting for a radical solution of the
problem, Malossi can now offer control units equipped with an inner rotor that provides regular performance till 16,000 rpm and eliminates all
problems associated with conventional ignition units.
The control unit has an adjustable RPM limit function to prevent engine damage. To gain access to the RPM limit unscrew the 4 screws on the
control unit (Fig. 1). Rotating the trimmer with a screwdriver will adjust the rpm limit between a range of 11,600 to 13,000, or exclude the limit
function altogether. Every click corresponds to 100 RPMs (See Table 1 for the settings)

Le nouvel allumage Malossi est un concentr des plus hautes technologies mises en oeuvre dans les comptitions de scooters, cross et vitesse.
Le nouvel allumage rotor interne a t conu pour rsoudre le problme des limites techniques des groupes dallumage dorigine : en effet,
au-del des 10.000 tours/minutes, ceux-ci ne sont plus en mesure dassurer la stabilit ncessaire en terme de performances, posant de gros
problmes de mise au point des engins de comptitions, parfois insurmontables. Pour rsoudre ce problme, Malossi a opt pour une solution
radicale : la mise au point dun botier lectronique rotor interne garantissant une stabilit des performances jusq 16.000 tours/minutes,
liminant ainsi tous les problmes poss par les groupes dallumage dorigine.
Le botier lectronique est dote dun limiteur de tours rglables afin dviter les casses moteurs. Pour accder au limiteur dvissez les 4 vis du
botier (Fig. 1). En tournant le trimmer avec un tourne vis il est possible de dplacer le limiteur de 11.600 13.000 tours ou bien de lenlever
compltement. Chaque click correspond 100 tours (voir Tableau 1 pour le setting).

ISTRUZIONI DI MONTAGGIO
Lavare accuratamente tutto il veicolo e in modo particolare la zona del motore su cui si andr ad operare.
Scollegare e togliere la batteria.
Dopo aver tolto il dado che fissa il volano d'accensione all'albero motore, smontare il volano d'accensione con gli appositi estrattori.
Smontare la flangia di supporto statore / pick-up.
Smontare dal veicolo la bobina di alta tensione e la centralina originale.
Scollegare ed eliminare tutti i cavi che alimentano i restanti servizi elettrici (luci, ricarica, batteria, ecc).

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Thoroughly wash the whole vehicle, especially the engine area where work will be performed.
Disconnect and remove the battery.
After unscrewing the nut locking the ignition flywheel on the crankshaft, remove the ignition flywheel by using special extractors.
Remove the stator-holding flange / the pick-up.
Remove the high voltage coil and the original control unit from the vehicle.
Disconnect and eliminate all cables supplying power to the other electrical devices (such as lights, charger, battery, etc.).

INSTRUCTIONS DE MONTAGE
Lavez soigneusement le scooter et en particulier la zone du moteur sur laquelle devra seffectuer le montage.
Dbranchez et retirez la batterie.
Aprs avoir retir lcrou de fixation du volant dallumage larbre moteur, laide des extracteurs prvus cet effet, dmontez le volant dallumage.
Dmontez la bride de support du stator / le pick-up.
Dmontez la bobine haute tension et le botier lectronique dorigine.
Dbranchez et retirez tous les autres fils dalimentation (clairage, recharge, batterie, etc.).

MONTAGGIO
- Pulire accuratamente tutta la zona interna al carter motore dal lato dellaccensione compreso il
cono dellalbero motore.
- Inserire sulla flangia di supporto statore il paraolio e loring perimetrale forniti nel kit.
- Prima di procedere al montaggio della flangia di supporto statore verificare che sotto le 2 viti di
fissaggio originali siano presenti 2 oring, e se danneggiati sostituirli.
- Montare sul carter motore la flangia di supporto statore Malossi usando le 2 viti in dotazione e
bloccarle a fondo con gradualit.
- Eliminare accuratamente la chiavetta dellalbero motore.
- Montare lo statore in modo corretto sulla flangia di supporto avendo cura di sistemare il cavo

ASSEMBLY
- Thoroughly clean and wipe the inside of the engine casing on the ignition side, including the output
cable.
- Insert the oil seal and O-ring, which are supplied with the kit, into the stator holding flange.
- Before proceeding with the stator holding flange assembly, insure that there is an 0-ring beneath
each of the two original mounting screws. Replace them if they are damaged.
- Fit the Malossi base plate on the engine casing by gradually tightening the 2 screws provided.
- Remove the crankshafts woodruff key.
- Assemble the stator on the holding flange correctly and fit the cable without damaging it.
- Secure the stator by means of the 3 M5 screws supplied without locking it in order to allow a

MONTAGE
- Nettoyez soigneusement toute la partie interne du carter moteur ct allumage, y compris le cne
de larbre moteur.
- Insrer sur la patte de fixation du support de stator le bourrage et loring perimtral fournis avec
le kit.
- Avant de procder au montage de la patte de fixation du support stator vrifier que sous les 2 vis
de fixation orginale sont prsent 2 oring et si ils sont abms les changers.
- Montez la bride de support du stator Malossi en la fixant au carter moteur laide des 2 vis
fournies cet effet en les serrant graduellement fond.
- Enlever mticuleusement la clavette du vilbrequin.

- Fissare lo statore con le 3 viti M5 in dotazione senza bloccarlo, per consentire di effettuare mediante
rotazione manuale dello statore stesso una corretta messa in fase.
- Inserire il rotore sullalbero motore.
- Accertarsi che il rotore giri liberamente senza problemi altrimenti rimuovere gli impedimenti.

MESSA IN FASE DELL'ACCENSIONE (vedi Tabella 2 per i settaggi)

- Ruotare il motore in senso orario fino a raggiungere il punto morto superiore e azzerare il comparatore,
verificando pi volte lesattezza delloperazione.
- Ritagliare la sagoma inserita in Fig. 2 e, aiutandovi con una punta da 6 mm, posizionarla sullo statore
correct timing by manual rotation of the stator.
- Insert the rotor onto the crankshaft.
- Make sure that the rotor turns without problems, otherwise eliminate the causes.
IGNITION TIMING (See Table 2 for the settings)
- Turn the engine clockwise to the top dead centre and zero the dial indicator checking the exactitude of
the operation.
- Cut out the outline in Fig. 2 and use a 6 mm drill bit to locate it onto the stator (Fig. 3).
- Tighten slightly the rotor nut and verify the alignment is correct with respect to top dead centre.
- Tighten the three stator screws.

- Montez correctement le stator sur la bride de support en ayant soin de placer le cble lectrique sans
lendommager.
- Fixez le stator laide des 3 vis de fixation M5 fournies cet effet sans les serrer fond pour permettre
deffectuer une mise en phase correcte par la rotation manuelle du stator.
- Inserez le rotor sur larbre moteur.
- Vrifiez que le rotor tourne sans problme; dans le cas contraire, liminez les causes.
MISE EN PHASE DE LALLUMAGE (voir Tableau 1 pour le setting)
- Tournez larbre moteur dans le sens des aiguilles dune montre jusquau point mort suprieur et mettez
au zro le comparateur, en vrifiant plusieurs fois lexactitude de lopration.

(Fig. 3) e allineare la tacca presente sulla sagoma a quella presente sul rotore.
- Serrare leggermente il dado del rotore e verificare che lallineamento sia corretto rispettando il punto morto superiore.
- Stringere le 3 viti dello statore.
Se disponete di una pistola stroboscopica dotata di display per leggere lanticipo in gradi, potete effettuare un controllo dinamico procedendo
come segue.
Portare il motore al punto morto superiore e usando un pennarello a punta fine o una punta da segni, tracciare sul rotore e sullo statore una linea
(Fig. 4). Togliere il comparatore, rimontare la candela e collegarla al filo di alta tensione, collegare la pistola stroboscopica e avviare il motore
stabilizzandolo sui 5.000 giri al minuto primo. Agire sul rullino collimatore della pistola e far coincidere il segno sullo statore con quello che avete
creato sul rotore. Se tutto stato fatto correttamente si dovrebbe leggere sul quadrante della pistola un angolo di anticipo come quello indicato
in Tabella 2.

If you have a stroboscope gun with a display to read the spark advance degrees, you can make a dynamic check as follows.
Drive the motor to its top dead centre and, by using a thin tip pen or a drawpoint, mark on the rotor and the stator a reference mark (Fig. 4).
Remove the dial indicator, fit the spark plug connecting it to the high-voltage cable, connect the stroboscope gun and start the engine stabilizing
it at 5,000 rpm. By using the gun collimator align the reference mark on the stator with the mark drawn on the rotor. If you did all the operations
correctly, the gun reading must show an angle as indicated in Table 2.

- Re-couper le modle insr en Fig.2 et en vous aidant dune pointe de 6 mm le positionner sur le stator (Fig 3) et aligner la marque prsente
sur celle du rotor.
- Serrer lgrement la vis du rotor et vrifier que lalignement soit correct en respectant le point mort haut.
- Serrer les 3 vis du stator.
Si vous avez un stroboscope quip dun cran pour lire lavance en degrs, vous pouvez effectuer un contrle dynamique comme suit.
Amenez le moteur au point mort suprieur et laide dun feutre pointe fine ou dune pointe tracer, marquez sur le rotor et sur le stator une
ligne (Fig. 4).
Enlevez le comparateur, remontez la bougie en la connectant au cble de haute tension, connectez le stroboscope et faites dmarrer le moteur
en le stabilisant un rgime de 5000 tours/minutes. A laide du collimateur du stroboscope, faites concider le cran sur le stator avec celui trac
prcdemment sur le rotor. Si toute lopration a t effectue correctement, sur le cadran du stroboscope, on devrait lire un angle comme
indique dans la Tableau 2.

- Montare la nuova bobina ad alta tensione Malossi curando scrupolosamente la messa a massa della stessa e montare il cavo candela.
- Collegare il cavetto nero con terminale ad occhiello e faston piccolo al terminale piccolo della bobina e con l'occhiello alla massa della bobina.
buona norma fissare un unico punto di massa per l'impianto accensione al quale vanno collegate la massa della bobina (filo nero), la massa
della centralina (filo nero con terminale ad occhiello) (vedi schema pag. 16).
- Evitare di posizionare la centralina adiacente alla bobina per evitare disturbi elettrici.
- Montare la nuova centralina elettronica Malossi sul veicolo sostituendo quella originale.
- Allacciare i cavi in uscita dallo statore alla centralina tramite relativi spinotti.
- Collegare il cavo arancione con il faston grande al terminale grande della bobina di alta tensione.
- Collegare il cavo nero della centralina con il terminale ad occhiello sotto la vite comune delle masse del nuovo impianto (vedi schema
pag. 16).

- Insert the new Malossi high voltage coil and carefully ground it. Connect the spark wire.
- The black cable with the eyebolt terminal and the small faston must be connected to the small coil terminal. The eyebolt must be connected
to the coil ground.
It is recommended that a single grounding point for the whole ignition system should be used, where the coil earth wire (black) and the control
unit earth wire (black with eyebolt terminal) should be connected (see diagram pg. 16).
- Do not place the control unit near the coil since this will cause electrical problems.
- Assemble the new Malossi electronic control unit on the vehicle.
- Connect the stator cables to the control unit by means of the cable terminal plug.
- Connect the orange cable provided with the big faston to the big terminal on the high voltage coil.
- Connect the black control unit cable to the common ground terminal of the new system (see diagram pg. 16).

- Montez la bobine haute tension Malossi en veillant bien la raccorder la masse et montez le fil de bougie.
- Le fil noir avec oeillet et faston de connexion doit tre raccord la petite borne de la bobine et loeillet de masse de la bobine.
Il est recommand de fixer un unique point de masse pour le systme dallumage auquel doivent tre raccordes la masse de la bobine (fil
noir) et la masse du botier lectronique (fil noir avec oeillet de connexion) (voir schma pg. 16).
- Eviter de positionner le botier lectronique prs de la bobine haute tension afin dviter les interfrences.
- Montez sur le scooter le botier lectronique Malossi.
- Raccordez les fils du stator au botier lectronique par lintermdiaire des connecteurs prsents sur les fils.
- Raccordez le fil orange grand connecteur faston la grande borne de la bobine haute tension.
- Raccordez le fil noir du botier lectronique la borne commune des masses du nouveau systme (voir schma pg. 16).

Le point de vente autoris Malossi auprs duquel vous avez effectu lachat se chargera de lenvoi, en laccompagnant de toutes les donnes
ncessaires, ticket fiscal compris, ce qui permettra notre dpartement contrle de la qualit, dvaluer lventuelle dfectuosit et de retrouver le
lot de production auquel le produit appartient.

Qualora, invece, la garanzia non fosse riconosciuta, il prodotto in oggetto sar in ogni modo rispedito al ns. punto vendita in porto assegnato,
ovvero con la stessa modalit di spedizione che la Malossi segue anche in caso di riconoscimento della garanzia.
- Non si accettano resi di merce non provenienti da nostri punti vendita.
- La garanzia non riconosciuta sui prodotti manomessi.
- La garanzia si esaurisce nella sostituzione di quei particolari di nostra produzione da noi ritenuti difettosi per errori di lavorazione o altro e
non copre eventuali danni al mezzo, a cose o a persone.
- Decliniamo ogni responsabilit derivante dalluso improprio dei nostri prodotti.
Tutti i nostri prodotti sono destinati ad impieghi sportivi, essendo stati creati per i molteplici Trofei Internazionali, per uso privato e di noleggio.
Come tutti i prodotti destinati alle competizioni, i prodotti Malossi devono essere considerati diversamente dai prodotti destinati allimpiego
stradale e non possono sottostare alle leggi ed ai codici stradali delle diverse nazioni nei quali sono venduti.

Si la garantie est reconnue, seule la partie dfectueuse, que nous garderons chez nous, sera remplace.
Si au contraire la garantie nest pas reconnue, le produit vous sera rexpdi notre point de vente en port d, avec la mme modalit demploi
de Malossi mme en cas de reconnaissance de la garantie.
- Nous nacceptons pas de restitutions de marchandises ne provenant pas de nos points de vente.
- La garantie nest pas reconnue sur les produits manipuls.
- La garantie concerne seulement les pices que nous produisons et que nous reconnaissons comme tant dfectueuses cause derreurs
dusinage ou autre et ne couvre pas les ventuels dommages aux vhicules, aux choses et aux personnes.
- Nous dclinons toute responsabilit drivant de lemploi impropre de nos produits.
Tous nos produits sont destins aux utilisations sportives, puisquils ont t conus pour les divers Trophes internationaux, pour un emploi
priv et la location.

The warranty becomes void if parts manufactured by us which we deem defective due to production errors or other circumstances are
replaced, and does cover any damage to the vehicle or to property or persons.

The end use of all our products is for sports purposes, having been designed for many International Trophies, for private use and for hire.
Like all products for competition purposes Malossi products must be considered differently to those destined for road use and cannot comply
with the laws and highway codes of the different nations in which they are sold.
Malossi products belonging to the MHR competition line, are highly select products, constructed using prestigious materials, and are destined
for the toughest competitions.

I prodotti Malossi appartenenti alla linea competizione MHR, sono prodotti selezionatissimi, costruiti con i materiali pi prestigiosi, e sono destinati
alle competizioni pi esasperate.
Sono pertanto esclusi da ogni forma di garanzia, a meno che non si tratti di un caso rarissimo di un componente sfuggito al collaudo che rechi una
reale difettosit produttiva allorigine e non una rottura per fatica o per grippaggio.
Prodotti riservati esclusivamente alle competizioni nei luoghi ad esse destinate secondo le disposizioni delle competenti autorit sportive.
Decliniamo ogni responsabilit per luso improprio.

Comme tous les produits destins aux comptitions, les produits Malossi doivent tre considrs diffremment des produits destins lemploi sur
route et ne peuvent tre soumis aux lois et aux codes routiers des diffrents pays dans lesquels ils sont vendus.
Les produits Malossi appartenant la ligne de comptition MHR, sont des produits hautement slectionns, construits avec les matriaux les plus
prestigieux et sont destins aux comptitions les plus extrmes.
Ils ne sont donc couverts par aucune forme de garantie moins quil ne sagisse du cas trs rare dun composant qui nait pas t relev en phase
dessai et qui ait un vrai dfaut de production lorigine et non pas une rupture par fatigue ou grippage.
Ces articles sont uniquement destins aux comptitions dans les lieux qui leur sont rservs, conformment aux dispositions des autorits
sportives comptentes. Nous dclinons toute responsabilit en cas d'utilisation abusive.
