In italian, to express what time it is we use either sono le
(i.e. Sono le undici- 11) or e` (i.e. E` luna-1)
We use e` only for 1:00, midday and midnight.
Ad esempio:

luna= Its 1 oclock

luna e mezzo= Its 1:30
mezzogiorno= Its midday
mezzanotte= Its midnight

For all other times (2-12) we use sono le...
Ad esempio:
Che ore sono?
Sono le tre= Its 3:00
Sono le undici= Its 11:00
Sono le quattro e mezzo= Its 4:30

EXTRA INFO!
The time is written differently in Italy.
When telling time, we replace colons with commas.
Ad esempio:
5:00 becomes 5,00, 9:00 becomes 9,00, 7:00 becomes 7,00.
