WHAT’S NEW
The Internet or Web, known as the World Wide Web (WWW), is a collection of
uncounted number of pages of information displayed on the Internet. It is a sharing tool of
information where rating continues to grow.
You can view information of issues, queries that you might have in your mind
and with the help of a “web browser”- a term referring to a window that allows you to view
online content (e.g., Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and Google Chrome). In
some certain points, it will not be easy to get accurately what you are looking for due to
numerous authors, sites and web browsers. To deal with this, we use a web browser to access
a search engine which allows us to search for a particular topic, word, or phrase.
2
WHAT IS IT
A web browser is a program that displays information and images on web sites.
It reads the information on a web page and displays it on your computer screen. Three of the
most popular web browsers are called “Microsoft Internet Explorer”, “Mozilla Firefox”, and
“Google Chrome”. You will be able to use at least one of these browsers at your local places
or even in your own gadgets.
1. Bring the cursor of your mouse to the browser’s icon on the desktop and double-click on
it with the left mouse button (alternatively, left-click once, and then press the “Enter”
key).
2. On the Address/ Search bar, type the URL you wanted to browse example google.com,
youtube.com and etc.

allow you to navigate the Web.
• Navigation Buttons - These buttons are used to go back and forth between

• Address/Search Bar - Use this bar to type in a Web Address or to perform a Web
Search. This is the part of the browser where you will enter the appropriate URL
of the site.
• Web Address - A web address is used to locate a particular webpage. It usually begins
3
with “http://www” or “https://www.” The added “s” means that the website has security
measures to keep others from seeing the information you are accessing or sharing. A
web address is sometimes referred to as a “URL” (Uniform Resource Locator)
