ptov are frequently described as 8ta"pavg;, "transparent" [...]; we may infer [...]
that the diminutives XvWvtovand Xvtrwvptovrefer to fineness of materialrather
than to shortness of cut<<26; conclusioni ribadite recentemente da LOSFELD: il
termine chitonion >>devrait nous inciter Apenser moins Aune tunique courte qu'a
une tunique fine, delicate, transparente?(p. 247).
Quanto si e appenamesso in evidenza a propositodel presuntoabbigliamento
femminile di Malakos potrebbetrovareindirettaconferma attraversouna nota di
Pomponio Porfirione, il quale, commentando l'espressione Malthinus tunicis
demissis in Hor. sat. 1.2.25, spiega che il nome Malthinus deriva da maltha -
termineequivalente a malacos - e aggiunge che tunicis demissis ambulare eorum
est, qui se molles ac delicatos velint haberi. Sebbene la testimonianzaprovenga da
ambito latino e sia comunque troppocircoscrittaperche se ne tragganospecifiche
indicazioni per l'interpretazionedel mimo di Ossirinco, mi sembra tuttavialecito
