‫َس َالٌم َع َلٰى آِل يٰـ س‬

salamun `ala ale yasin

Peace be upon the Household of Yasin.

‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك َيا َداِع َي ٱلَّلِه َو َر َّباِنَّي آَياِتِه‬

alssalamu `alayka ya da`iya allahi wa rabbaniyya ayatihi
Peace be upon you, O caller to Allah and interpreter of His Verses.

‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك َيا َباَب ٱلَّلِه َو َدَّياَن ِد يِنِه‬

alssalamu `alayka ya baba allahi wa dayyana dinihi
Peace be upon you, O door to Allah and applier of His religion.

‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك َيا َخ ِليَفَة ٱلَّلِه َو َناِص َر َح ِّقِه‬

alssalamu `alayka ya khalifata allahi wa nasira haqqihi
Peace be upon you, O viceroy of Allah and backer of His right.

‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك َيا ُحَّج َة ٱلَّلِه َو َد ِليَل ِإَراَد ِتِه‬

alssalamu `alayka ya hujjata allahi wa dalila iradatihi
Peace be upon you, O Argument of Allah and sign of His volition.

‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك َيا َتاِلَي ِكَتاِب ٱلَّلِه َو َتْر ُج َم اَنُه‬

alssalamu `alayka ya taliya kitabi allahi wa tarjumanihi
Peace be upon you, O reciter of the Book of Allah and its interpreter.

‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك ِفي آَناِء َلْيِلَك َو َأْط َر اِف َنَهاِرَك‬

alssalamu `alayka fi ana'i laylika wa atrafi naharika
Peace be upon you at the hours of Your night and the two ends of Your day.

‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك َيا َبِقَّيَة ٱلَّلِه ِفي َأْر ِض ِه‬

alssalamu `alayka ya baqiyyata allahi fi ardihi
Peace be upon you, O herald of Allah on His lands.

‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك َيا ِم يَثاَق ٱلَّلِه ٱَّلِذ ي َأَخ َذ ُه َو َو َّك َد ُه‬
alssalamu `alayka ya mithaqa allahi alladhi akhadhahu wa wakkadahu
Peace be upon you, O covenant of Allah that He has made and confirmed.

‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك َيا َو ْع َد ٱلَّلِه ٱَّلِذ ي َضِم َنُه‬

alssalamu `alayka ya wa`da allahi alladhi daminahu
Peace be upon you, O Promise of Allah that He has assured.

‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك َأُّيَها ٱْلَع َلُم ٱْلَم ْنُصوُب‬

alssalamu `alayka ayyuha al`alamu almansubu
Peace be upon you, O appointed pennon,

‫َو ٱْلِع ْلُم ٱْلَم ْص ُبوُب‬

wal`ilmu almasbubu
poured knowledge,

‫َو ٱْلَغ ْو ُث َو ٱلَّرْح َم ُة ٱْلَو اِس َع ُة‬

walghawthu walrrahmatu alwasi`atu
aid, and expansive mercy.

‫َو ْع دًا َغْيَر َم ْكُذ وٍب‬

wa`dan ghayra makdhubin
This is verily a promise that shall never be belied.
‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك ِح يَن َتقُوُم‬
alssalamu `alayka hina taqumu
Peace be upon you whenever you rise (to undertake the mission).

‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك ِح يَن َتْقُعُد‬

alssalamu `alayka hina taq`udu
Peace be upon you whenever you sit.

‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك ِح يَن َتْقَر ُأ َو ُتَبِّيُن‬

alssalamu `alayka hina taqra'u wa tubayyinu
Peace be upon you whenever you recite and elucidate.

‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك ِح يَن ُتَص ِّلي َو َتْقُنُت‬

alssalamu `alayka hina tusalli wa taqnutu
Peace be upon you whenever you offer prayer and supplicate.

‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك ِح يَن َتْر َك ُع َو َتْسُجُد‬

alssalamu `alayka hina tarka`u wa tasjudu
Peace be upon you whenever you genuflect and prostrate (yourself for Allah).

‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك ِح يَن ُتَهِّلُل َو ُتَك ِّبُر‬

alssalamu `alayka hina tuhallilu wa tukabbiru
Peace be upon you whenever you profess Allah’s Godhead and profess His All-
greatness.

‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك ِح يَن َتْح َم ُد َو َتْسَتْغ ِفُر‬

alssalamu `alayka hin tahmadu wa tastaghfiru
Peace be upon you whenever you praise Allah and implore for His forgiveness.

‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك ِح يَن ُتْص ِبُح َو ُتْمِس ي‬

alssalamu `alayka hina tusbihu wa tumsi
Peace be upon you whenever you begin and end your day.

‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك ِفي ٱلَّلْيِل ِإَذ ا َيْغ َش ٰى‬

alssalamu `alayka fi allayli idha yaghsha
Peace be upon you in the night when it draws a veil

‫َو ٱلَّنَهاِر ِإَذ ا َتَج َّلٰى‬

walnnahari idha tajalla
and the day when it shines in brightness.

‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك َأُّيَها ٱِإل َم اُم ٱْلَم ْأُم وُن‬

alssalamu `alayka ayyuha al-imamu alma'munu
Peace be upon you, O entrusted leader.

‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك َأُّيَها ٱْلُم َقَّد ُم ٱْلَم ْأُم وُل‬

alssalamu `alayka ayyuha almuqaddamu alma'mulu
Peace be upon you, O favored and expected.

‫َالَّس َالُم َع َلْيَك ِبَجَو اِم ِع ٱلَّس َالِم‬

alssalamu `alayka bijawami`i alssalami
Peace be upon you to the ultimate meaning of peace.

‫ُأْش ِهُد َك َيا َم ْو َالَي‬

ushhiduka ya mawlaya
I solicit you, O my master,

‫َأِّني َأْش َهُد َأْن َال ِإٰل َه ِإَّال ٱلَّلُه‬

anni ashhadu an la ilaha illa allahu
to testify to me that I bear witness that there is no god but Allah;

‫َو ْح َد ُه َال َش ِريَك َلُه‬

wahdahu la sharika lahu
One and Only Lord and having no associate,

‫َو َأَّن ُمَحَّم دًا َع ْبُد ُه َو َر ُسوُلُه‬

wa anna muhammadan `abduhu wa rasuluhu
and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.

‫َال َح ِبيَب ِإَّال ُهَو َو َأْهُلُه‬

la habiba illa huwa wa ahluhu
There is no one more beloved by Allah than him and his household.

‫َو ُأْش ِهُد َك َيا َم ْو َالَي‬

wa ushhiduka ya mawlaya
And I solicit you, O my master, to testify to me that I bear witness

‫َأَّن َع ِلّيًا َأِم يَر ٱْلُم ْؤ ِمِنيَن ُحَّج ُتُه‬

anna `aliyyan amira almu'minina hujjatuhu
that `Ali the Commander of the Faithful is His argument,

‫َو ٱْلَحَسَن ُحَّج ُتُه‬

walhasana hujjatuhu
al-Hasan is His argument,

‫َو ٱْلُحَسْيَن ُحَّج ُتُه‬

walhusayna hujjatuhu
al-Husayn is His argument,

‫َو َع ِلَّي ْبَن ٱْلُح َس ْيِن ُحَّج ُتُه‬

wa `aliyya bna alhusayni hujjatuhu
`Ali the son of al-Husayn is His argument,

‫َو ُمَحَّم َد ْبَن َع ِلٍّي ُحَّج ُتُه‬

wa muhammada bna `aliyyin hujjatuhu
Muhammad the son of `Ali is His argument,

‫َو َج ْع َفَر ْبَن ُمَحَّمٍد ُحَّج ُتُه‬

wa ja`fara bna muhammadin hujjatuhu
Ja`far the son of Muhammad is His argument,

‫َو مُوَس ٰى ْبَن َج ْع َفٍر ُحَّج ُتُه‬

wa musa bna ja`farin hujjatuhu
Musa the son of Ja`far is His argument,

‫َو َع ِلَّي ْبَن ُم وَس ٰى ُحَّج ُتُه‬

wa `aliyya bna musa hujjatuhu
`Ali the son of Musa is His argument,

‫َو ُمَحَّم َد ْبَن َع ِلٍّي ُحَّج ُتُه‬

wa muhammada bna `aliyyin hujjatuhu
Muhammad the son of `Ali is His argument,

‫َو َع ِلَّي ْبَن ُمَحَّمٍد ُحَّج ُتُه‬

wa `aliyya bna muhammadin hujjatuhu
`Ali the son of Muhammad is His argument,

‫َو ٱْلَحَسَن ْبَن َع ِلٍّي ُحَّج ُتُه‬

walhasana bna `aliyyin hujjatuhu
and al-Hasan the son of `Ali is His argument.

‫َو َأْش َهُد َأَّنَك ُحَّج ُة ٱلَّلِه‬

wa ashhadu annaka hujjatu allahi
I also bear witness that you are verily the argument of Allah.

‫َأْنُتُم ٱَألَّوُل َو ٱآلِخ ُر‬

antum al-awwalu wal-akhiru
You all are the first and the last.

‫َو َأَّن َر ْج َع َتُك ْم َح ٌّق َال َر ْيَب ِفيَها‬

wa anna raj`atakum haqqun la rayba fiha
And (I bear witness) that your (promised) Return is undoubtedly true

‫َيْو َم َال َيْنَفُع َنْفسًا ِإيـَم اُنَها‬

yawma la yanfa`u nafsan imanuha
“On the day when its belief avails not a soul

‫َلْم َتُك ْن آَم َنْت ِم ْن َقْبُل‬

lam takun amanat min qablu
which theretofore believed not,

‫َأْو َك َسَبْت ِفي ِإيـَم اِنَها َخْيرًا‬

aw kasabat fi imaniha khayran
nor in its belief earned good by works,”

‫َو َأَّن ٱْلَم ْو َت َح ٌّق‬

wa anna almawta haqqun
death is true,

‫َو َأَّن َناِكرًا َو َنكيرًا َح ٌّق‬

wa anna nakiran wa nakiran haqqun
and Nakir and Nakir are true.

‫َو َأْش َهُد َأَّن ٱلَّنْش َر َح ٌّق‬

wa ashhadu anna alnnashra haqqun
And I bear witness that the Raising for death is true,

‫َو ٱْلَبَع َث َح ٌّق‬

walba`tha haqqun
the Resurrection is true,

‫َو َأَّن ٱلِّص َر اَط َح ٌّق‬

wa anna alssirata haqqun
the Discriminating Bridge is true,

‫َو ٱْلِم ْر َصاَد َح ٌّق‬

walmirsada haqqun
the Watchtower is true,

‫َو ٱْلِم يَز اَن َح ٌّق‬

walmizana haqqun
the Balance (of deeds) is true,

‫َو ٱْلَح ْش َر َح ٌّق‬

walhashra haqqun
the Gathering is true,
‫َو ٱْلِحَس اَب َح ٌّق‬
walhisaba haqqun
the Reckoning is true,

‫َو ٱْلَج َّنَة َو ٱلَّناَر َح ٌّق‬

waljannata walnnara haqqun
Paradise and Hell are true,

‫َو ٱْلَو ْع َد َو ٱْلَو ِع يَد ِبِهَم ا َح ٌّق‬

walwa`da walwa`ida bihima haqqun
and the promise of Paradise and the threat with Hell are true.

‫َيا َم ْو َالَي َش ِقَي َم ْن َخ اَلَفُك ْم‬

ya mawlaya shaqiya man khalafakum
O My master! Certainly wretched is he who opposes you

‫َو َسِع َد َم ْن َأَطاَع ُك ْم‬

wa sa`ida man ata`akum
and certainly happy is he who obeys you.

‫َفٱْش َهْد َع َلٰى َم ا َأْش َهْدُتَك َع َلْيِه‬

fashhad `ala ma ashhadtuka `alayhi
So, testify to me all that which I have besought you to testify.

‫َو َأَنا َو ِلٌّي َلَك‬

wa ana waliyyun laka
I am verily an ally of you

‫َبِر يٌء ِم ْن َع ُد ِّوَك‬

bari'un min `aduwwika
and denouncing your enemy.

‫َفٱْلَح ُّق َم ا َر ِض يُتُم وُه‬

falhaqqu ma raditumuhu
The truth is only that which you accept,

‫َو ٱْلَباِط ُل َم ا َأْسَخ ْطُتُم وُه‬

walbatilu ma askhattumuhu
the wrong is only that which you disallow,

‫َو ٱْلَم ْعُروُف َم ا َأَم ْر ُتْم ِبِه‬

walma`rufu ma amartum bihi
the good is only that which you enjoin,

‫َو ٱْلُم ْنَك ُر َم ا َنَهْيُتْم َع ْن ُه‬

walmunkaru ma nahaytum `anhu
and the evil is only that which you forbid.

‫َفَنْفِس ي ُم ْؤ ِم َنٌة ِبٱلَّلِه‬

fanafsi mu'minatun billahi
My soul is thus believing in Allah;

‫َال َش ريَك َلُه‬ ‫َو ْح َد ُه‬

wahdahu la sharika lahu
One and Only Lord and having no associate,

‫َو ِبَر ُسوِلِه َو ِبَأِم يِر ٱْلُم ْؤ ِمِنيَن‬

wa birasulihi wa bi'amiri almu'minina
and also in His Messenger, in the Commander of the Faithful,
‫َو ِبُك ْم َيا َم ْو َالَي َأَّو ِلُك ْم َو آِخ ِرُك ْم‬
wa bikum ya mawlaya awwalikum wa akhirikum
and in you all, O my master, from the beginning to the end.

‫َو ُنْص َرِتي ُمَع َّد ٌة َلُك ْم‬

wa nusrati mu`addatun lakum
I have prepared myself to back you

‫َو َمَو َّد ِتي َخ اِلَص ٌة َلُك ْم‬

wa mawaddati khalisatun lakum
and my love is sincerely dedicated to you.

‫آِم يَن آِم يَن‬
