INSTALLAZIONE / INSTALLATION
1 - POSIZIONAMENTO DELLA SSU - SPLIT SHAFT UNIT POSITIONING
La SSU viene posizionata tra il cambio di velocità ed il ponte posteriore,
interrompendo l’albero di trasmissione il più vicino possibile al cambio.
Normalmente essa viene montata al posto del supporto intermedio dell’albero di
trasmissione. È necessario impiegare elementi elastici (Silentblock). Il disegno sottostante
rappresenta un’esempio di montaggio della presa di forza totale.
The Split Shaft Unit should be located between the gearbox and the rear axle, as near
as possible to the gearbox output flange. If possible locate the Split Shaft Unit in place
of the midship bearing. Elastic suspension elements (Silentblocks) should always be
fitted between the Split Shaft and the truck chassis. The following diagram shows an
example of installation.

2 - FISSAGGIO P.F.T. AL TELAIO - MOUNTING THE SPLIT SHAFT
UNIT TO THE TRUCK FRAME
Non è consentito effettuare saldature sui longheroni o traverse. Gli elementi di supporto
devono essere fissati al telaio mediante viti, impiegando a tale scopo fori esistenti.
Per praticare fori supplementari nei longheroni o nelle traverse del telaio è indispensabile
attenersi strettamente alle istruzioni della Casa costruttrice del veicolo.
Welding to frame beams or cross members is not allowed. All brackets should
be fastened to the truck frame using bolts. Existing holes should be used.
Additional holes should only be made with the approval of the truck Manufacturer.

3 - ALBERI DI TRASMISSIONE - DRIVE SHAFTS 3.3 - FASE - PHASE

Gli alberi impiegati nella linea di trazione devono corrispondere per tipo e qualità
all’albero di trasmissione originale. Lo stesso vale per le flange, le viti ed i dadi. I dadi
autobloccanti non possono essere riutilizzati, ma sostituiti con dadi nuovi.
All shafts used in the vehicle’s drive line should be the same size and quality as the
original ones. The same applies to flanges, bolts and nuts. Self locking nuts should
never be used twice and should be replaced with new ones.
3.1 - EQUILIBRATURA - BALANCE
Tutti gli alberi di trasmissione devono essere equilibrati staticamente e dinamicamente.
All drive shafts should be staticly and dynamicly balanced.
3.2 - ANGOLAZIONE - ANGLES
Per evitare vibrazioni e rumorosità di funzionamento, tutte le flange di trasmissione
devono essere parallele tra di loro. Quindi, poiché il cambio è inclinato rispetto al
telaio, dovrà essere inclinata dello stesso angolo anche la presa di forza totale, così
come tutti i gruppi da essa azionati. L’angolo di inclinazione del cambio (variabile tra
2°30’ e 7° secondo il modello di veicolo) deve essere richiesto alla Casa costruttrice.
To prevent vibration and noise during operation all drive flanges must be parallel.
Therefore it is necessary to incline the Split Shaft Unit and all other driven equipment
at the same angle to the truck frame as the gearbox. This angle varies with the truck
model. Information should be obtained from the truck Manufacturer.

Impiegare alberi di trasmissione muniti di giunti di scorrimento assiale. Nell’assemblaggio
dei due semialberi vanno assolutamente rispettate le frecce di riferimento della fasatura
degli snodi cardanici per assicurare che le due forcelle interne della trasmissione si
trovino sullo stesso piano.
Propshafts with sliding joint should be used. Make sure that enough compensation is
allowed for length changes. When assembling make sure that all U-Joints are correctly
phased by ensuring that index markings are correctly aligned.
3.4 - PROTEZIONI - PROTECTION
