MEASURING THE FREQUENCY RESPONSE OF THE GENELEC 1030A

MISURA IN ROSSO: effettuata a 3 cm dal diffusore, in posizione intermedia tra Woofer e Tubo di Accordo [misura NON
finestrata]. Ho fatto diverse prove e questa posizione mi è sembrata un buon compromesso.

MISURA IN NERO: effettuata a 80 cm dal diffusore, all’altezza del Tweeter 110 cm [misura FINESTRATA]

ANALISI: ho incrociato le due IR a 300 Hz [barra gialla] che ho ritenuto piuttosto cautelativa perché a 1,14 metri ero
certo di non avere alcuna riflessione significativa [ho usato cuscini in terra ed una coperta doppia che avvolgeva lo stand
in metallo del diffusore che, probabilmente, mi dava alcune diffrazioni alle alte.

CONCLUSIONI: nonostante le inevitabili incertezze, questa misura risulta abbastanza vicina a quanto riportato nelle
specifiche Genelec 1030A, 55Hz - 18KHz, ± 2,5 dB in campo libero ed equalizzazione Flat.

MEASUREMENT IN RED: made 3 cm from the speaker in an intermediate position between woofer and tube Agreement
[NOT windowed measure]. I did several tests and this location seemed a good compromise.

MEASUREMENT IN BLACK: made at 80 cm from the tweeter, at the height of 110 cm [windowed measure]

ANALYSIS: I crossed the two IR to 300 Hz [yellow bar] that I felt rather cautionary because at 1.14 meters I was sure I
did not have any significant reflection [I used a blanket and pillows on the ground that enveloped the double metal stand
of diffuser that probably gave me some diffraction at high frequencies.

CONCLUSIONS: Despite the inevitable uncertainties, this measure is quite close to that specified in the specifications of
Genelec 1030A, 55Hz - 18KHz, ± 2.5 dB in free field and EQ Flat.
