Prayer Bulletin No. 33b THE GLORTOUS PRESENCE OF GOD. "In Thy presence there is fulness of joy; and at Thy right hand pleasures for evermore" (Psalm 16,11) Have you ever experienced that? Christian, do you habitually enjoy it? It is renarkable that so few Christians can answer in the affirmative. To many "the presence of God" is but a religious phrase used without any personal knowledge of what it actually is. They say it is some- thing we know "oy faith", Right! But true feith has a resulting exper ience. We are told that we should not seek "subjective experiences" but rather be objective. Well, God expects us to be both. A Soript- ural objective Christianity 18 most necessary - but it ean be but @ creed, a thing of the mind - but it should be accompanied by the subjective - the creed eaten, digested and transmuted into the blood and fibre of the soul. The creed must be made alive! God's presence should be experienced by every born-again, consecrated child of God. ‘HE FIRS? REQUIREMENT IS THE DESIRE POR SUCH AN EXPERIENCE - for a heart-bunger and thirst for the Living God. "As the hart panteth after the watertrooks, so panteta my soul after Thee, Oh God. Ny soul thirsteth for dod, for the living God..."(Paalm’42.1-2; 27443 65.1; 84.2. Oh, the néed the Church has today for heart-hungry, thirsty Christians! This ie probably our greatest lack(Rev 3.1520) ‘THE NEXT STP IS A DEPINITS TINE to be set aside each day for comm union with our living Saviour. The Christian who will spend say 30 minutes each day alone with God, will experience @ spiritual revolut- ion in thoir life, We mist have’"an enjoyed fellowship" with the Source of Life and Blessing. We mst first drink of the Living Waters for our ovn refreshment before the blessing can flow out to others. THEN FAITH MUS? EB EXERCISED - in realising the wonderful truth that GOD IS PRESEND! HE IS RIGHT HERE! He surrounds us, fille us. We are being admitted to the inner tenple of the Saviour's heart ~ the greatess privilege and blessing ve can know thie side of glory! VERY FACULTY MUS? EB ALERTED! "Be still and know thet I an Goa" (Pain 46.10). We have spiritual eyes, spiritual ears, spiritual hands - if we ask,the Holy Spirit will activate then. GOD WAITS 70 COMS’IN IN ALL HTS PULNESS! (Rev 3.20; Bph.3.19) "that you might be filled with all the fulnese of God" (But you may say, "That is 700 MUGE to expect’ ~ well, read the next verse V20 ‘The Lord Jesus illustrates the reception of thie fulness in John 7. WW37-59 and in John 4.14., as drinking LIFE-GIVING WATERS. "Drink", Ho says, and in John 20.22 He illustrates the reception of the Holy Spirit by suggesting (by implication) that His disciples breathe-in His own life-giving breath. Many have foundthata great help tofaith ie to - first meditate prayer fully on these Scriptures, and then BREATHE IN DEEPLY. This paysical act aide our faith in drinking of the spiritual draught. Tae writer has employed this physical aid to faith frequently over the years and can testify ae to ite help in fulfilling the command of Ephesians 5.18 - "Be filled with the Spirit". If the spiritual act of arinking accompanies the physical, it usually results in a thrilling inflow of joy and peace. Just waiting in such an atmosphere one is refreshed and rested. You cannot sit with the God of all faith and Jove for half an hour each day, in such an experience, without breath- ing in His quickening life, new hope, love, strength, together with @ fresh snointing. Out of a full and overflowing heart, praise adoration and worship of our glorious God, become a veritable relief for the pent-up soul. From that blessed trysting place, one rises to face the world with @ holy boldness, and with the very fragrance of the Lord Jesus Hin- self pervading the person. Gipsy Smith was once asked how to start s revival. "Go hone, locs yourself in your room, knosl down in the middie of your floor. Draw a chalk mark all around yourself and ask God to start the revival inside that chalk-nark. When He has answered your prayer, the revival will be on". "Dear Lord, Let it start in me!”
