‘HB SIN_OF DOUBTING.
Doubting God is e comon ain anong Christiens. Doubt is "hesitation on
our pert to believe God end His Word". But why should a Christian ever
do thie? Sonetines Christiane doubt jheir salvation. They trust to
feelings and not to the ¥ord of God. Another cause of doubting is
fin in the life, this robe one of his peace. If we have accepted
Christ as our Saviour, tured avay from sin, it is UNREASONABLE to
doubt our salvation, does the Saviour's death on the Cross and the
shedding of His precious blood for my sin avail for nothing? Ts
the Lord Jesus not able to save and keep the one who puts hie trust in
Hin? Such doubts are unthinkable! ! :
‘Mt tines, Cnristians are guilty of doubting God's love and care. When
trials come and overvhelu, the child of God is tempted to doubt. He
asks "Has God ceased to love me?". But friend, can it be that God would
forsake the soul for which He Aled? NO! KO! NO! "Y will never leave
thee nor forsake thee” (Heb 13,5). "Ha careth for YOU" 1 Pet.5.7-
Christians sometimes doubt God's promises. When we do this we are
actually doubting God Himself. "God is not a man that He should lie;
neither the son of man that Ho should repent; hath He said and shall
He not do it? or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?"
(iumbers 25.19). Yast a challenge this is to trust God, and not to
doubt His promises! How guilty we are when we doubt! Doubting God
{sa horrible sin! Doubt 1s no friend of the Christian, but rather
hie worst eneay, and we should treat it that way!
Renenber God's promises are AIVAYS TRUB! "He is faithful that
promised". Praise His Nanel “wherefore, Sirs, Be of good cheer,
for I believe Godl* (acts 27.25). (Wext Week ~ Overcoming doubt)
