Il funzionamento della macchina è controllato da una scheda elettronica a microprocessore che realizza le regolazioni
di temperatura, le funzioni di protezione e la gestione degli organi elettromeccanici.
Questo in base alle impostazioni effettuate sul telecomando (da parte dell’utente) e alla temperatura rilevata dalle
sonde presenti nello scambiatore interno (sonda ambiente e ad immersione) e nello scambiatore esterno (sonda
ambiente e ad immersione).
Modalità di funzionamento:
Le modalità di funzionamento previste sono le seguenti:

• Raffreddamento (COOLING);
· Deumidificazione (DRY);
· Riscaldamento (HEATING);
· Funzionamento in sola ventilazione (FAN)
· Funzionamento Automatico (AUTO);
· Funzionamento in modalità collaudo (TEST);
Altri controlli:
· Sleep · Sensore di movimento

· Swing · Sensore ossido di carbonio
· Timer di accensione o di spegnimento · Sensore di luce
· Ricambio d’aria
Protezione del compressore
Nelle modalità di funzionamento <Cooling, Heating, Dry e Auto> è sempre presente la protezione per evitare il ripe-
tersi di cicli ravvicinati di accensione e spegnimento del compressore.
Quando il microprocessore attiva il compressore, esso viene mantenuto in funzionamento per almeno 6 minuti.
Quando il microprocessore ferma il compressore, esso prevede un'attesa di 3 minuti prima della successiva accensio-
ne.Va notato che, appena viene data tensione alla macchina, vi è l'attesa dei 3 minuti.
Protezione dai sovraccarichi
In tutte le modalità di funzionamento la scheda elettronica rileva la corrente assorbita. In caso la corrente superi il valo-
re di sicurezza (13A per RD 7-9-13 e 15A per RD 16) per 3 secondi, il compressore viene fermato e rimane spento
per 3 minuti, passati i quali si riattiva automaticamente. Se questa anomalia viene rilevata per 3 volte consecutive, il dis-
play visualizzerà la scritta E1 e l’unità verrà messa in stand-by. Per ripristinare il normale funzionamento del climatizza-
tore, si dovrà impostare la modalità desiderata con il telecomando
Fresh air (solo per modelli RDF)
La modalità Fresh air permette un ricambio dell’aria all’interno del locale climatizzato grazie ad un collegamento con
una ventola posta nell’unità esterna.
Tale modalità dispone di due funzioni:AIR1 e AIR2, la prima realizza un ricambio continuo d’aria tra l’ambiente interno
e l’esterno, la seconda alterna un’ora di ricircolo interno ed un’ora di ricambio con l’esterno.

The machine operation is controlled by a microprocessor printed-circuit board that adjusts temperature and protec-
tion functions and controls the electromechanical parts of the machine.This occurs on the base of the remote control
settings (carried out by the user) and of the temperature taken by the probes present in the indoor exchanger (room
and immersion probe).
Functioning modes:
The available functioning modes are:

• Cooling (COOLING);
· Dehumidification (DRY);
· Heating (HEATING);
· Fan only (FAN)
· Automatic functioning (AUTO);
· Testing mode functioning (TEST);
Other controls:
· Sleep · Movement sensor

· Swing · CO sensor
· Switching on and off timer · Light sensor
· Compressor protection
Compressor protection
This protection is always present in <Cooling, Heating, Dry and Auto> mode to avoid the too frequent repetition of
the compressor switching on and off cycles.When the microprocessor activates the compressor, it works for 5/6
minutes at least.When the microprocessor stops the compressor, it waits 3 minutes before switching on again.
Overload protection
If the rated current in higher than 13 A for continuos 3 minutes (13A per RD 7-9-13 e 15A per RD 16) the machine
goes into fan mode. 3 minutes later,if it is detected that current is higher than 13 A,the machine goes back to original
state.If it is detected 3 consecutive overloading states within 30 minutes.The machinestops and must be restarted by
remote controller.
Fresh air (only for model RDF)
Fresh air mode supply Fresh air to the air conditioned room through a fan installed in the outdoor unit.
This mode works in two functions: AIR1 continuos working and AIR2 it works one hour and then one hour off.

MODALITÀ COOLING
Il campo di variazione della temperatura impostabile con il telecomando va da 16°C a 30°C.

Il valore di partenza è di 24°C
La macchina (compressore e ventola esterna) si avvia quando la temperatura ambiente (rilevata dalla sonda ambiente)
supera di 1°C il valore impostato e si arresta quando la temperatura scende di 1°C al di sotto.
Velocità del Ventilatore dell'Unità Interna
FAN "HIGH, M, LOW":

· il ventilatore dell'Unità Interna rimane sempre attivo alla velocità selezionata.
FAN "AUTO":
· quando la temperatura ambiente è di almeno 4°C superiore a quella impostata viene attivata la velocità massima;
· quando la temperatura ambiente è superiore a quella impostata di un valore compreso tra 2 e 4°C, allora viene
attivata la velocità media;
· negli altri casi viene attivata la velocità minima.
Protezione contro il gelo dello scambiatore dell'Unità Interna
Il microprocessore controlla che la temperatura dello scambiatore interno non rimanga troppo bassa, in modo che non
vi sia formazione di ghiaccio.
Dopo 6 minuti di funzionamento continuo del compressore, se la temperatura dello scambiatore (rilevata dalla sonda
a immersione) rimane per 3 minuti sotto 0°C vengono fermati compressore e ventilatore esterno, mentre il ventilato-
re interno rimane attivo alla velocità impostata.
Dopo 3 minuti l'unità esterna viene nuovamente avviata se la temperatura dello scambiatore, una volta eliminata la brina,
supera i 10°C.
MODALITÀ DRY
Il campo di variazione della temperatura impostabile con il telecomando va da 16°C a 30°C. Il valore di partenza é di 24°C.
La macchina (compressore e ventola esterna) si avvia quando la temperatura ambiente (rilevata dalla sonda ambiente) supe-
ra il valore impostato di 2°C e si arresta quando la temperatura scende di 2°C al di sotto.
Il funzionamento in questa modalità prevede cicli alternati di lavoro in raffreddamento (per 6 minuti), in sola ventilazione (per
30 secondi) e stop completo della macchina (per 3,5 minuti): in questo modo lo scambiatore dell'unità interna prima si rico-
pre di condensa, poi è in grado di eliminarla per gocciolamento, senza abbassare molto la temperatura ambiente.
Il ventilatore dell'unità interna e dell’unita esterna rimangono alla velocità minima.
Protezione contro il gelo dello scambiatore dell'Unità Interna
La protezione è la stessa prevista nella modalità Cooling.

COOLING MODE
The variation range of the temperature set with the remote control is between 16°C and 30°C.
The starting value is 24°C.
The machine, i.e. the compressor and the external fan, starts when room temperature, which is detected by
the ambient probe, exceeds the set value by 1°C and stops when the temperature falls 1°C below it.
Speed of the Indoor Unit Fan
FAN “HIGH, M, LOW”

· The indoor unit fan is always active at the selected speed.
FAN “AUTO”
· When room temperature exceeds the set one by at least 4°C the maximum speed is activated;
· When room temperature exceeds the set one by a value between 2 and 4°C, the medium speed is activated.
· The minimum speed is activated in the other cases.
Protection against freeze of the indoor unit exchanger
To avoid icing the microprocessor checks that the temperature of the internal exchanger does not remain too low.
After 6 minutes of continuous functioning of the compressor, the compressor and the external fan will be stop-
ped if the exchanger temperature, which is detected by the immersion probe, is below 0°C for 3 minutes, whe-
reas the internal fan remains active at the set speed.
After 3 minutes the outdoor unit starts again if the exchanger temperature exceeds 10°C after rime elimination.
DRY MODE
The machine, i.e. the compressor and the external fan, starts when room temperature, which is detected by
the ambient probe, exceeds the set value by 2°C and stops when the temperature falls 2°C below it.
The functioning of this mode is characterised by work cycles alternating in cooling (for 6 minutes), in venti-
lation only (for 30 minutes) and complete stopping of the machine (for 3/5 minutes): in this way the indoor
unit exchanger is covered with condensate first, which then is to be eliminated through dripping, without
reducing room temperature.
The fan of the internal and that of the outdoor unit operate at minimum speed.
Protection against freeze of the indoor unit exchanger
The protection is the same as that provided for by the cooling mode.

MODALITÀ HEATING (escluso i modelli RDT - RDQ)
Il campo di variazione della temperatura impostabile con il telecomando va da 16°C a 30°C. Il valore di partenza è di
24°C.
La macchina (compressore, valvola a 4 vie e ventola esterna) si avvia quando la temperatura ambiente (rilevata dalla
sonda ambiente) scende di 2°C al di sotto del valore impostato e si arresta quando la temperatura lo supera di 4°C.
Velocità del ventilatore dell'Unità Interna

FAN "HIGH, M, LOW":
· Il ventilatore interno comincia a girare (bassa velocità) solo quando la temperatura dello scambiatore interno
raggiunge 22°C, contemporaneamente il motorino alette porta il flap in posizione orizzontale. Nel momento in
cui la temperatura dello scambiatore interno supera 42°C (dopo almeno 2 minuti di lavoro del compressore), il
motorino del flap e il ventilatore interno agiranno nelle modalità selezionate.
FAN "AUTO":
· quando la temperatura ambiente è di almeno 1°C inferiore a quella impostata viene attivata la velocità massima;
· quando la temperatura ambiente è compresa tra -1°C e +1°C della temperatura impostata, allora viene attivata
la velocità media;
· negli altri casi viene attivata la velocità minima.
Velocità del ventilatore dell’unità ESTERNA (solo per modelli RD 9 - RD 13)

Se la temperatura esterna é inferiore a 3°C il ventilatore gira ad alta velocità, in caso la temperatura esterna sia mag-
giore di 3°C gira a bassa velocità.
Resistenza elettrica (solo per modelli RD 7)

La resistenza elettrica aggiuntiva é alimentata nella modalità pompa di calore quando il compressore é attivo, la tem-
peratura ambiente é inferiore a 26°C e la temperatura dello scambiatore interno non supera i 54°C.
La resistenza viene disattivata se il compressore si spegne se la temperatura ambiente supera i 28°C o se la tempera-
tura dello scambiatore interno supera i 56°C.
Sbrinamento dell'Unità Esterna (lampeggia la spia)

La procedura di sbrinamento permette di eliminare la brina che si può formare, secondo le condizioni climatiche sullo
scambiatore dell'unità esterna durante il funzionamento nella modalità HEATING.
La procedura viene avviata e completata in modo automatico, secondo le seguenti modalità:
Lo sbrinamento viene avviato quando, dopo almeno 45 minuti di funzionamento nella modalità Heating, la temperatura
dello scambiatore esterno (rilevata dalla sonda a immersione esterna) scende sotto i - 4°C per 1 minuto.
Durante lo sbrinamento viene disattivata la valvola a 4 vie, in modo che il ciclo frigorifero scaldi lo scambiatore ester-
no. Inoltre vengono arrestati i ventilatori esterno ed interno.
Lo sbrinamento viene concluso quando la temperatura dello scambiatore dell'unità esterna raggiunge i 10°C oppure,
anche se tale temperatura non viene raggiunta, dopo 10 minuti al massimo.
Per tornare alla modalità riscaldamento vengono nuovamente attivate la valvola a 4 vie e il ventilatore dell'unità ester-
na; l'accensione del ventilatore dell'unità interna viene ritardata, come indicato sopra, in modo di evitare l'emissione di
aria fredda.
Durante lo sbrinamento il display visualizza la scritta FA.

HEATING MODE (not for RDT - RDQ)
The machine, i.e. the compressor, the four-way valve and the external fan, starts when room temperature,
which is detected by the ambient probe, falls below the set value by 2°C and stops when the temperature
exceeds it by 4°C.
Speed of the indoor unit fan
FAN “HIGH, M, LOW”

· The internal fan starts rotating at low speed only if the internal exchanger temperature reaches 22°C.At
the same time the fin engine brings the flap into horizontal position.When the internal exchanger tem-
perature exceeds 42°C, after at least 2 minutes of compressor working, the flap engine and the internal
fan will run in the selected modes.
FAN “AUTO”
· When room temperature is at least 1°C below the set one the maximum speed is activated;
· When room temperature is between -1 and +1°C of the set speed the medium speed is activated.
· The minimum speed is activated in the other cases.
Speed of the Outdoor unit fan (only for the models RD 7 – RD 9 – RD 13)
If external temperature is below 3°C the fan will rotate at high speed. Is external temperature over 3°C,
then it will rotate at low speed.
Electric resistance
Additional electric resistance is powered in the heat pump mode when the compressor is active, the room
temperature is below 26°C and the internal exchanger temperature does not exceed 54°C.
Resistance is disabled when the compressor shuts down, if room temperature exceeds 28°C or if the inter-
nal exchanger temperature exceeds 56°C.
Outdoor unit defrosting (light flashing)
Defrosting procedure allows the elimination of the rime formed on the outdoor unit exchanger because of
the climate conditions during the operation in the HEATING mode.
The procedure is started and completed automatically in the following way:
defrosting is operated when the external exchanger temperature, which is detected by the external immer-
sion probe, falls below –4°C for one minute after at least 45 minutes of functioning in the Heating mode.
During defrosting the four-way valve is disabled so that the refrigeration cycle heats the external exchanger.
Besides, the external and internal fans are stopped.
Defrosting is completed when the temperature of the outdoor unit exchanger reaches 10°C or after maxi-
mum 10 minutes if this temperature is not reached.
To return to the heating mode the four-way valve and the outdoor unit fan are operated again; the starting
of the indoor unit fan is delayed as indicated above to avoid cold air emission.
During defrosting the display shows the writing FA.

Protezione contro il surriscaldamento dello scambiatore dell'Unità Interna

Il microprocessore controlla che la temperatura dello scambiatore interno non aumenti eccessivamente, in modo che
non vi siano deformazioni della struttura in plastica. Quando la temperatura dello scambiatore dell'unità interna (misu-
rata dalla sonda a immersione) supera i 58°C viene fermato il ventilatore esterno, mentre il ventilatore interno conti-
nua a girare alla velocità selezionata.
Il ventilatore dell’unità esterna viene nuovamente avviato quando la temperatura dello scambiatore interno scende
sotto i 52°C.
MODALITÀ AUTO
Nella modalità AUTO la regolazione sceglie in maniera automatica tra il funzionamento in raffreddamento e in riscal-
damento, secondo il valore della temperatura ambiente:
· il valore preimpostato per la temperatura in raffreddamento è di 25°C;
· il valore preimpostato per la temperatura in riscaldamento è di 20°C;
Il funzionamento è regolato nel seguente modo:
quando la temperatura ambiente scende sotto i 20°C si avvia il funzionamento in riscaldamento, che permane attivo
fino a quando la temperatura non sale sopra i 24°C.
Se la temperatura ambiente sale oltre i 26°C si attiva il funzionamento in raffreddamento, che permane fino a quando
la temperatura non scende sotto i 24°C.
Protezioni attive e velocità del ventilatore in FAN "AUTO"

Secondo la modalità di funzionamento operativa, sono attive le protezioni e le regolazioni relative alla modalità Cooling
o alla modalità Heating.
Funzionamento di emergenza (tastino nell'unità interna)

Nel caso il telecomando non funzioni, abbia le pile scariche o sia stato perso, la modalità AUTO si può attivare anche
premendo il tasto posto sotto al pannello frontale dell’unità interna.
In questo caso si attivano anche le funzioni denominate BODY, DAY/NIGHT, AIR1e CO descritte nel manuale di istru-
zioni in dotazione all’unità.
Sensore di movimento
Se il climatizzatore é acceso ed é stata selezionata la funzione BODY, il sensore di movimento rileva gli spostamenti che
avvengono nei pressi dell’unità interna.
Dopo 20 minuti in cui non vengono rilevati movimenti, il climatizzatore si spegne automaticamente.
L’unità si accende novamente quando il sensore rileva degli spostamenti.
N.B.: in caso nel climatizzatore stia agendo qualche protezione (es. sovracorrente) la funzione BODY viene ritardata di
10 minuti.
Sensore di luce
Quando viene attivata la funzione DAY/NIGHT si attiva il sensore di luce il quale imposta automaticamente la funzio-
ne sleep qualora dovesse calare il buio nel locale climatizzato (ciò non avviene se in precedenza era stata attivata la fun-
zione auto).
Quando nella stanza ritorna la luce, il climatizzatore ripristina i valori di funzionamento precedentemente impostati dal-
l’utente.

Protection against superheating of the indoor unit exchanger
The microprocessor checks that the temperature of the internal exchanger does not increase excessively, so
that there will be no deformation in the plastic structure.When the temperature of the indoor unit exchan-
ger, which is measured by the immersion probe, exceeds 58°C, the external fan is stopped, whereas the inter-
nal fan goes on rotating at the selected speed.
The fan of the outdoor unit is started again when the temperature of the internal exchanger falls below 52°C.
AUTOMATIC MODE
In the AUTO mode regulation chooses automatically between functioning in cooling and in heating according
to the value of the room temperature:
· The value preset for the temperature in cooling is 25°C;
· The value preset for the temperature in heating is 20°C;
The functioning is regulated in the following way:
when the room temperature falls below 20°C the heating functioning will start, which will be active until the
temperature does not exceed 24°C.
if the room temperature is above 26°C the cooling function will start, which will remain until the tempera-
ture drops below 24°C.
Active protections and ventilator speed in FAN “AUTO”

According to the operating functioning mode the protections and the regulations concerning the cooling
mode or the heating mode are active.
Emergency functioning (key in the indoor unit)

If the remote control does not work because of low batteries or if it has been lost you can activate the AUTO
mode pressing the key under the front panel of the indoor unit.
In this case you operate also the functions called BODY, DAY/NIGHT,AIR I and CO described in the instruc-
tion manual delivered with the unit.
Movement sensor
If the air conditioner is on and the BODY function is selected the movement sensor detects the movements
occurring near the indoor unit.
After 20 minutes during which no movement is sensed the air conditioner stops automatically.
The unit starts again when the sensor detects some movements.
N.B.: if some protections are working in the air conditioner, for example overcurrent, the BODY function will
be delayed for 10 minutes.
Light sensor
When the DAY/NIGHT function is enabled the light sensor will be active.This sensor sets the sleep function
automatically in case it gets dark in the conditioned room, but not if the auto function has been activated
before.
When light returns in the room the air conditioner resets the functioning values adjusted before by the user.

SENSORE DI MOVIMENTO
Se il climatizzatore é acceso ed é stata selezionata la funzione BODY, il sensore di movimento rileva gli spostamenti che
avvengono nei pressi dell’unità interna.
Dopo 20 minuti di assenza di rilevamenti il climatizzatore si spegne automaticamente. L’unità si accende nuovamente
quando il sensore rileva dei movimenti.
N.B.: In caso nel climatizzatore stia agendo qualche protezione (es. sovracorrente) la funzione Body vien ritardata di 10
minuti.
SENSORE DI LUCE
Quando viene attivata la funzione Day/Night, si attiva il sensore di luce che imposta automaticamente la funzione SLEEP
qualora dovesse calare il buio nella stanza climatizzata (ciò non avviene se era stata selezionata la modalità auto).
Il climatizzatore ritorna nello stato precedentemente impostato al ritorno della luce nella stanza.

MOVEMENT SENSOR
If the air conditioner is on and the BODY function is selected the movement sensor detects the movements
occurring near the indoor unit.
After 20 minutes during which no movement is detected the air conditioner stops automatically. The unit
starts again when the sensor detects some movements.
N.B.: in case some protections are working on the air conditioner, for example overcurrent, the BODY func-
tion will be delayed for 10 minutes.
LIGHT SENSOR
When the DAY/NIGHT function is enabled the light sensor will be active.This sensor sets the SLEEP func-
tion automatically in case it gets dark in the conditioned room, but not if the auto function has been selec-
ted before.
When light returns in the room the air conditioner goes back to the status set before.

Il connettrore per l’inserimento del tubo per il ricambio aria ha il diametro esterno di 30 mm. La lunghezza standard
del tubo per il ricambio aria é di 5 metri. In caso venga installato un tubo di lunghezza maggiore, la portata d’aria
sarà inferiore a quella dichiarata.
