Texts which are chosen to test the achievement of this outcome are
informative in style. As the word suggests, these texts contain a
variety of information. When learning to convey gist of texts and
identify specific information it is important to:
read the questions first as they will help you to develop some
understanding of the content of the passage
look for key words in the questions and in the passage as this
will help you to provide a focussed response
