1. Segreteria Virtuale (SV)

Si ricorda che la procedura di iscrizione agli Atelier si svolgerà all'interno della Segreteria
Virtuale (SV) https://sv.arc.usi.ch (Sezioni / Atelier BSc3/MSc1/MSc2).
Per il login sono necessarie le credenziali SWITCH edu-ID.

2. Anteprima online dei programmi degli Atelier

Da lunedì 5 febbraio fino a giovedì 8 febbraio ore 13.00, gli Atelier caricano online un
PDF contenente l’anteprima del proprio programma semestrale. Le informazioni minime
obbligatorie che devono essere incluse nel file sono le seguenti:
titolo Atelier, sito di progetto, programma di progetto, lavoro individuale/coppia/gruppo,
luogo e data viaggio studi e nominativi dei docenti e assistenti.

3. Pubblicazione delle anteprime dei programmi degli Atelier

A partire da venerdì 9 febbraio ore 9.00 gli studenti potranno visionare i programmi di
Atelier su SV https://sv.arc.usi.ch. (Sezioni / Atelier BSc3/MSc1/MSc2).
Per il login sono necessarie le credenziali SWITCH edu-ID.

4. Preselezione
Prima della presentazione degli Atelier, è facoltà di ogni docente selezionare un numero
limitato di studenti.
Ogni studente ha la possibilità di candidarsi ad un solo Atelier, caricando in SV il proprio
portfolio (formato pdf, max. 20 MB) da venerdì 9 febbraio ore 09.00 a lunedì 12 febbraio
ore 13.00.

Il processo di candidatura/ preselezione prevede le seguenti regole:

• durante i due semestri BSc3, ogni studente può essere prescelto 1 volta;
• durante i tre semestri MSc1/2 ogni studente può essere prescelto 1 volta;
• gli studenti iscritti in Accademia durante il BSc3 che non hanno beneficiato della
relativa preselezione, possono essere preselezionati 2 volte durante i semestri
MSc1/2;
• gli studenti di scambio (EXT1) potranno essere prescelti 1 volta;
• gli studenti che si sono candidati ma non sono stati prescelti possono ricandidarsi
al semestre successivo;
• gli studenti che hanno esaurito le proprie preselezioni possono comunque
candidarsi all'Atelier Miller o all’Atelier Olgiati (pre-selezioni illimitate)

Saranno considerati validi solo i portfolio il cui upload sarà completato entro le ore
13.00 di lunedì 12 febbraio.

Si invitano gli studenti a caricare i propri portfolio con anticipo rispetto all’orario di chiusura,
poiché potrebbero riscontrare problemi nell’upload e non riuscire così a rispettare la
scadenza.

Gli studenti prescelti sono definitivamente assegnati all’Atelier e non possono scambiarlo.
Ai fini della priorità di assegnazione (vedi punto 7), l'essere preselezionato è considerato
come una prima scelta.

4.1 Scelta preselezionati

Da lunedì 12 febbraio ore 13.00 l’Atelier consulta online la lista degli studenti che si sono
candidati, ne visiona i portfolio, e sceglie i preselezionati entro venerdì 16 febbraio, ore
13.00. (scadenza NON derogabile!)

4.2 Risultati preselezione

A partire dalle ore 15.00 di venerdì 16 febbraio, all’interno della SV, lo studente potrà
visualizzare se è stato prescelto o meno.

Tutti gli studenti:

• che non riusciranno a caricare il proprio portfolio entro i termini previsti per la
preselezione;
• che non verranno preselezionati;
• che hanno esaurito le possibilità per essere preselezionati;
• che per propria scelta non parteciperanno alle preselezioni;

si dovranno iscrivere all’Atelier, in occasione delle presentazioni di Atelier - giovedì

22 febbraio.

5. Presentazione degli Atelier

Palazzo Canavée aule C0.62/0.63/0.64 - giovedì 22 febbraio ore 9.00.

Ordine di presentazione
Le presentazioni di Atelier si svolgeranno in presenza; i docenti illustreranno direttamente
agli studenti il programma del proprio Atelier.

6. Scelta dell’Atelier
Da venerdì 16 febbraio ore 17:00 a giovedì 22 febbraio ore 14:30, ogni studente dovrà
esprimere ed inviare le proprie scelte, all’interno di SV, selezionando in ordine di
preferenza cinque (5) Atelier tra quelli presenti.
Gli studenti che non si iscriveranno entro i termini indicati verranno assegnati
d'ufficio all'Atelier con il minor numero di iscritti. Tale iscrizione d’ufficio verrà
considerata come prima scelta (vedi punto 7).

Ricordiamo che gli studenti preselezionati durante la precedente fase (Punto 4) NON
potranno iscriversi nuovamente.

Gli Atelier hanno un numero limitato di posti, la ripartizione di Atelier avviene per semestre
attraverso un algoritmo che divide uniformemente gli studenti in maniera randomica nei
diversi Atelier di progettazione. Avranno priorità gli studenti con un numero di punti più alto.

7. Calcolo dei punti e priorità di assegnazione

All’interno di SV saranno visibili in tempo reale i punti assegnati ad ogni scelta selezionata.

Di seguito trovate illustrate le priorità di assegnazione e gli eventuali bonus/malus che

saranno applicati agli studenti in funzione dell’anno di appartenenza.
Ogni scelta ha un punteggio differente:

7.1 Studenti BSc3

+ 5 punti = prima scelta;
+ 4 punti = seconda scelta;
+ 3 punti = terza scelta;
+ 2 punti = quarta scelta;
+ 1 punto = quinta scelta;
Ai suddetti punteggi si sommano eventuali bonus e si sottraggono eventuali malus:
+ 1 punto agli studenti che non hanno mai frequentato l’Atelier;
- 1 punto agli studenti che hanno già frequentato l’Atelier.
+ 1 punto agli studenti che nell’ultimo semestre frequentato sono stati assegnati ad un
Atelier in IV/V scelta;
+ 2 punti agli studenti che nell’ultimo semestre frequentato sono stati assegnati ad un
Atelier non scelto (Fuori Scelta).

7.2 Studenti MSc1/2

+ 5 punti = prima scelta;
+ 4 punti = seconda scelta;
+ 3 punti = terza scelta;
+ 2 punti = quarta scelta;
+ 1 punto = quinta scelta;
Ai suddetti punteggi si sommano eventuali bonus e si sottraggono eventuali malus:
+ 1 punto agli studenti di MSc1;
+ 3 punti agli studenti di MSc2;
+ 1 punto agli studenti che non hanno mai frequentato l’Atelier;
- 1 punto agli studenti che hanno già frequentato l’Atelier;
+ 1 punto agli studenti che nell’ultimo semestre frequentato sono stati assegnati ad un
Atelier in IV/V scelta;
+ 2 punti agli studenti che nell’ultimo semestre frequentato sono stati assegnati ad un
Atelier non scelto (Fuori Scelta).

7.3 Studenti ospiti da altre università SEMP, Mobilité suisse, etc. (EXT1)
+ 5 punti = prima scelta;
+ 4 punti = seconda scelta;
+ 3 punti = terza scelta;
+ 2 punti = quarta scelta;
+ 1 punto = quinta scelta;
Ai suddetti punteggi si somma:
+ 1 punto agli studenti SEMP studies, Scambi interuniversitari, etc.
+ 1 punto agli studenti che non hanno mai frequentato l’Atelier;

Solo per studenti ospiti annuali:

Al semestre primaverile, per gli studenti che hanno frequentato il precedente semestre in
Accademia, si potrebbero sommare/sottrarre eventuali bonus/malus:
+ 1 punto agli studenti che nell’ultimo semestre frequentato sono stati assegnati ad un
Atelier in IV/V scelta;
+ 3 punti agli studenti che nell’ultimo semestre frequentato sono stati assegnati ad un
Atelier non scelto (Fuori Scelta);
- 1 punto agli studenti che hanno già frequentato l’Atelier.

8. Assegnazione di Atelier
Gli studenti potranno vedere a quale atelier sono stati assegnati, in SV, alle 16.00 di
giovedì 22 febbraio.

Nella maggior parte dei casi, lo studente viene assegnato in un atelier presente nelle sue 5
scelte; è però possibile che venga assegnato ad un Atelier “Fuori Scelta” ossia non
presente nelle proprie preferenze (vedi punto 7 per il calcolo di eventuali Bonus per il
semestre successivo).

9. Scambio Atelier
Alla pubblicazione dei risultati gli studenti in III°, IV°, V° e in Fuori Scelta potranno chiedere
uno scambio a compagni di altri Atelier nelle loro stesse condizioni.

Regole per lo scambio:

• inoltrare la richiesta in SV dalle 16.00 alle 17.00 di giovedì 22 febbraio

• è necessario essere studenti in III°, IV°, V° e in Fuori Scelta:
• è possibile inoltrare la richiesta solo ad atelier con studenti in III°, IV°, V° e in Fuori
Scelta
• gli atelier con studenti solo in I° e II° scelta non saranno visibili nella lista per lo
scambio
• lo scambio (match) si attiva solo se esiste corrispondenza da entrambe le parti
• se non esiste corrispondenza lo scambio non avviene e lo studente dovrà restare
nell’Atelier assegnato
• nel caso in cui due o più studenti indicassero le stesse preferenze di scambio per
una sola disponibilità, sarà l’algoritmo in modo randomico a scegliere il “match”.
• maggiore sarà il numero di Atelier che lo studente selezionerà tra quelli disponibili,
maggiore sarà la probabilità di trovare un “match” per scambiare Atelier.

10. Liste finali

A partire dalle ore 17.30 di giovedì 22 febbraio, all’interno della SV, saranno disponibili le
liste finali e definitive degli iscritti agli Atelier.

11. Inizio Atelier

Gli Atelier di progettazione avranno inizio venerdì 23 febbraio, secondo le modalità e gli
orari comunicati dai singoli Atelier ai propri studenti.
La presenza in Atelier è obbligatoria.
Attenzione: il semestre accademico avrà inizio ufficialmente lunedì 19 febbraio con le
materie teoriche.

1. Virtual Secretariat (SV)

Please note that the application procedure for the Ateliers will take place through the Virtual
Secretariat (SV) https://sv.arc.usi.ch (Sections / Ateliers BSc3/MSc1/MSc2).
SWITCH edu-ID credentials are required for login.

2. Online preview of Ateliers programs

From Monday 5th February until Thursday 8th February at 1 p.m., the Ateliers will
upload online a PDF preview of their semester program. The minimum compulsory
information that must be included in the file is as follows:
Atelier title, project site, project program, individual/pair/group work, place and date of study
trip and names of teachers and assistants.

3. Publishing previews of Ateliers programs

From Friday 9th February at 9 a.m., students will be able to view the Atelier programs on
SV https://sv.arc.usi.ch (Sections / Ateliers BSc3/MSc1/MSc2).
SWITCH edu-ID credentials are required for login.

4. Pre-selection
Prior to the presentation of the Ateliers, it is up to each teacher to select a limited number
of students.
Each student has the opportunity to apply for only one Atelier, by uploading their portfolio
(pdf format, max. 20 MB) to SV from Friday 9th February at 09.00 to Monday 12th
February at 1p.m.

The application/preselection process involves the following rules:

• during the two BSc3 semesters, each student may be selected once;
• during the three MSc1/2 semesters, each student may be selected once;
• students enrolled at the Academy during BSc3 who have not benefited from the
relevant pre-selection may be pre-selected twice during the semesters of the
MSc1/2;
• exchange students (EXT1) may be pre-selected once;
• students who have applied but were not selected may reapply for the following
semester;
• students who have exhausted their pre-selections may still apply to Atelier Miller or
Atelier Olgiati (unlimited pre-selections)

Only portfolios successfully uploaded by 1 p.m. on Monday 12th February will be

considered as valid.

Students are invited to upload their portfolios in advance of the closing time, as they may
encounter problems uploading and thus miss the deadline.

Selected students are definitively assigned to the Atelier and cannot change it.
For the purposes of assignment priority (see point 7), being pre-selected is considered as a
first choice.

4.1 Pre-selected candidates

From Monday 12th February, 1 p.m., the Atelier will consult the list of students who have
applied online and choose the pre-selected students by portfolio within Friday 16th
February, 1 p.m. (Deadline CANNOT be postponed!)

4.2 Pre-selection results

From 3 p.m. on Friday 16th February, within the SV, students will be able to see whether
or not they have been selected.

All students:
• who fail to upload their portfolio by the preselection deadline;
• who will not be pre-selected;
• who have exhausted the possibilities to be pre-selected;
• who by their own choice will not participate in the pre-selections;

will have to register to the Atelier presentations taking place on Thursday 22nd
February.

5. Presentation of Ateliers
Palazzo Canavée Classrooms C0.62/0.63/0.64 - Thursday, 22nd February at 9.00 a.m.

Order of presentation
The Atelier presentations will take place in presence; the lecturers will directly illustrate to
the students the program of their Atelier.

6. Students’ registration to the Atelier

From Friday 16th February 5.00 p.m. to Thursday 22nd February 2.30 p.m, each student
must express and send their choices, selecting five (5) Ateliers in order of preference from
those listed.
Students who do not register by the indicated deadline will be automatically
assigned to the Atelier with the lowest number of enrolled students. This ex officio
registration will be considered as first choice (paragraph 7).

Please note that students pre-selected during the previous phase (paragraph 4) will NOT
be able to register again.

The Ateliers have a limited number of places, students are assigned to the Ateliers through
an algorithm that evenly divides students randomly into the different Ateliers. Students with
a higher number of points will have priority to enter the desired Atelier.

7. Calculation of points and priority allocation

In SV, the points allocated to each selected choice will be visible in real time.

Please find here below the allocation priorities and any bonus/malus that will be applied to
students according to their year. Each choice has a different priority:

7.1 BSc3 students

+ 5 points = first choice;
+ 4 points = second choice;
+ 3 points = third choice;
+ 2 points = fourth choice;
+ 1 point = fifth choice;
any bonus is added to the above scores and any malus is subtracted:
+ 1 point to students who have never attended the Atelier;
- 1 point to students who have already attended the Atelier;
+ 1 point to students who, in the last attended semester, were assigned to an Atelier of
IV/V choice;
+ 2 points to students who, in the last attended semester, were assigned to an Atelier not
chosen (Out of Choice).

7.2 MSc1/2 students

+ 5 points = first choice;
+ 4 points = second choice;
+ 3 points = third choice;
+ 2 points = fourth choice;
+ 1 point = fifth choice;
any bonus is added to the above scores and any malus is subtracted:
+ 1 point to MSc1 students;
+ 3 points to MSc2 students;
+ 1 point to students who have never attended the Atelier;
- 1 point to students who have already attended the Atelier;
+ 1 point to students who, in the last attended semester, were assigned to an Atelier of
IV/V choice;
+ 2 points to students who in the last semester attended were assigned to an Atelier not
chosen (Out of Choice).

7.3 Visiting students from other universities SEMP, Mobilité suisse, etc. (EXT1)
+ 5 points = first choice;
+ 4 points = second choice;
+ 3 points = third choice;
+ 2 points = fourth choice;
+ 1 point = fifth choice;
to the above scores are added:
+ 1 point to students SEMP studies, Inter-University Exchange, etc.
+ 1 point to students who have never attended the Atelier;

For annual guest students only:

To the spring semester, for students who attended the previous semester at the Academy,
following bonus/malus could be added/subtracted:
+ 1 point to students who, in the last attended semester, were assigned to an Atelier of
IV/V choice;
+ 3 points to students who, in the last attended semester, were assigned to an Atelier not
chosen (Out of Choice);
- 1 point to students who have already attended the Atelier.

8. Atelier allocation
students can see which Atelier they have been assigned to in SV on Thursday 22nd
February at 4 p.m.

In most cases, the student will be assigned to an atelier of his/her 5 choices; however, it is
possible that he/she will be assigned to an Atelier "Out of Choice", i.e. not present in
his/her preferences (see point 7 for the calculation of any bonus for the following
semester).

9. Atelier exchange
Upon publication of the results, students in III, IV, V and Out-of-Choice will be able to
request an exchange to fellow students in other Ateliers in the same condition as them.

Rules for the exchange

• submit your request in SV from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday 22nd February

• you must be a student in III, IV, V and Out-of-Choice:
• it is only possible to apply to ateliers with students in III, IV, V and Out-of-Choice
• ateliers with students only in I and II choice will not be visible in the exchange list
• the exchange (match) is only activated if there is a match on both sides
• if there is no match the exchange does not take place and the student must remain
in the assigned Atelier
• if two or more students indicate the same exchange preferences for a single place,
the algorithm will randomly choose the "match"
• the greater the number of Ateliers the student selects from those available, the
greater the probability of finding a "match" to exchange Ateliers.

10. Final lists

At 5.30 p.m. on Thursday 22nd February, the final and definitive lists of Atelier participants
will be available in the SV.

11. Start of Ateliers

The Ateliers will begin on Friday 23rd February, according to the procedures and times
communicated by the individual Ateliers to their students.
Attendance at the Atelier is compulsory.
Please note: the academic semester will officially begin on Monday 19th February with
the theoretical lectures.
