NARRAZIONE PRESEPE

L’ANNUNCIAZIONE
Al tempo di Erode, re della Giudea, l'angelo Gabriele fu mandato
da Dio in una città della Galilea, chiamata Nazaret, da una vergine
chiamata Maria. Entrando da lei, l’angelo le disse che avrebbe
concepito un figlio, lo spirito santo sarebbe sceso su di lei, e colui
che sarebbe nato si sarebbe chiamo “il figlio di Dio”. A queste
parole, Maria, rimase stupita e adorata, mettendosi subito alle
volontà del Padre Eterno. E l'angelo partì da lei.
In the time of King Herod of Judea, the angel Gabriel was sent by
God to a city in Galilee, called Nazareth, by a virgin named Mary.
Upon entering, the angel told her that she would conceive a child,
holy spirit would come upon her, and the one who would be born
would be called "the son of God." At these words, Mary was
amazed and adored, immediately placing herself at the will of the
Eternal Father. And the angel took leave from her.

IL VIAGGIO
In quei giorni un decreto di Cesare Augusto ordinò che si facesse il
censimento di tutta la terra. Così, anche Giuseppe salì in Giudea, a
Betlemme, per farsi registrare insieme con Maria sua sposa, che era
già incinta.
In those days a decree of Caesar Augustus ordered a census to be
taken of the whole earth. So, Joseph also went up to Judea, to
Bethlehem, to be registered with Mary his wife, who was already
pregnant.
LA NASCITA DI GESÙ
Mentre si trovavano in Giudea, si compirono per lei i giorni del
parto. Arrivati a Betlemme, Giuseppe cercò un albergo dove poter
stare con Maria in vista del parto, ma trovarono tutti i posti
occupati, così Giuseppe trovò una capanna abbandonata con una
mangiatoia dove fece riposare la futura moglie incinta, la quale, alla
mezzanotte tra il 24 e il 25 dicembre, diede alla luce il suo figlio
primogenito, Gesù. Lo avvolse in fasce e lo depose in una
mangiatoia.
When they arrived in Bethlehem, Joseph looked for a hotel where
he could stay with Mary in view of the birth, but they found all the
places occupied, so Joseph found an abandoned hut with a manger
where he rested his future pregnant wife, who, at midnight
between December 24 and 25, gave birth to her firstborn son, Jesus.
He dressed him and laid him in a manger.

I DONI DEI PASTORI

In quella regione c’erano alcuni pastori che vegliavano di notte
facendo la guardia al loro gregge. Un angelo del Signore si
presentò davanti a loro e gli disse con grande gioia che era nato il
salvatore, il Messia. Disse loro dove lo avrebbero trovato così da
poterlo ringraziare e pregare. Così i pastori andarono dunque
senz'indugio e trovarono Maria, Giuseppe e il bambino, che
giaceva nella mangiatoia. Lasciati i doni, se ne tornarono
glorificando e lodando Dio per tutto quello che avevano udito e
visto, com'era stato detto loro.

In that region there were some shepherds who, at night, kept

watch over their flocks. An angel of the Lord stood before them
and told them with great joy that the Messiah had been born. He
told them where they would find him so they could thank him and
pray. So, the shepherds went without delay and found Mary,
Joseph, and the child, who slept in the manger. Leaving their gifts,
they returned glorifying and praising God.

L’ARRIVO E I DONI DEI RE MAGI

Alcuni Magi giunsero da oriente a Gerusalemme e domandando
dove fosse il nascituro re dei Giudei, indicato dalla stella, per
lodarlo. All'udire queste parole, il re Erode restò turbato e con lui
tutta Gerusalemme. Così Erode, chiamò segretamente i Magi, si
fece dire con esattezza da loro il tempo in cui era apparsa la stella e
li inviò a Betlemme esortandoli a fargli sapere dove fosse il
bambino così da poterlo lodare anche lui. Udite le parole del re,
essi partirono. Entrati nella capanna, videro il bambino con Maria
sua madre, e prostratisi lo adorarono. Poi aprirono i loro scrigni e
gli offrirono in dono oro, incenso e mirra. Avvertiti poi in sogno di
non tornare da Erode, per un'altra strada fecero ritorno al loro
paese.

Some wise men came from the east to Jerusalem and asked where
the unborn king of the Jews, indicated by the star, was, to praise
him. King Herod was troubled when he heard these words. So,
Herod secretly summoned the Magi, got them to tell him exactly
the time when the star had appeared, and sent them to Bethlehem
exhorting them to let him know where the child was so that he too
could praise him. When they heard the king's words, they
departed. When they entered the hut, they saw the child with
Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshipped him. Then
they opened their caskets and offered him gifts of gold,
frankincense, and myrrh. Warning the angel in a dream not to
return to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.

Alcuni Magi giunsero da oriente, a Betlemme, guidati dalla stella,

segno della nascita del Cristo Signore. Entrati nella capanna,
videro il bambino con Maria sua madre, e prostratisi lo adorarono.
Poi aprirono i loro scrigni e gli offrirono in dono oro, incenso e
mirra. E l’indomani, per un'altra strada, fecero ritorno al loro
paese.

Some Magi came from the east, to Bethlehem, guided by the star, a
sign of the birth of Christ the Lord. When they entered the hut,
they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and
worshipped him. Then they opened their caskets and offered him
gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. And the next day, by
another road, they returned to their own country.
