True EARTH TRANSPARENT FILTERS
I FILTRI TRASPARENTI TRUE EARTH

True Earth TRANSPARENT FILTERS are the most up-to-date resin+resin waterbased
formula.
Inside coloration is a resin too, and not a mineral pigment as all other filters and pig-
ments on the market. Since this resin has the property to being traspassed by light,
their transparency is actually unequalled.
Result : a progressive layering with true Earth TRANSPARENT FILTERS avails re-
ally progressive and subtle effects. They do not overhelm colors, but avail a
natural lighting / shading, not affecting color’s identity.

La colorazione interna è essa stessa una resina, e non un pigmento minerale come per
tutti gli altri filtri e colori sul mercato. Dato che questa resina ha la proprietà di lasciarsi

Risultato : una stratificazione progressiva dei FILTRI TRASPARENTI True Earth per-
mette effetti di grande progressività, ed evita gli errori. Non si impone sui colori,

True EARTH TRANSPARENT FILTERS
I FILTRI TRASPARENTI TRUE EARTH
LOOK
They have a milky apparel, somewhat like thinned oils. They have many attitudes of oils, and
many more that we will discover.
But they are totally waterbased, with a drying time longer them other waterbased products
or paints. They are not acrylics. They do not “dry”, but get progressively denser, which is a very
interesting attitude for our tasks.
ASPETTO
Hanno un aspetto lattiginoso, simile ad olii diluiti. Hanno alcune caratteristiche che li rendono simili
agli olii, ed altre che andremo a scoprire.
Ma hanno un formulazione totalmente basata sull’acqua, con un tempo di asciugatura più lungo
rispetto ad altri prodotti e colori in acqua. Non sono acrilici. Non “seccano”, ma si addensano pro-
gressivamente fino all’asciugatura, il che li rende molto interessanti per i nostri scopi.
TOOLS
You can use True Earth Trasparent Filters with brush for classic filtering, streaks washes and
selctive washes around details.
Or by airbrush to add lightened and shadowed spots on your colors.
ATTREZZI
Puoi utilizzare i Filtri Trasparenti True Earth a pennello per filtri classici, lavaggi, colature, lavaggi
selettivi attorno ai dettagli.
Oppure con l’aerografo per schiarire e ombreggiare i colori.
SAFE
No solvants, they are the most up-to-date waterbased resin formulations. Most raw materials
used are eco-label certified.
Any paint can be used : acryl. enamel...NO PROTECTIVE LAYER NEEDED before True Earth prod-
ucts. They’re absolutely not aggressive with any paint.
SICUREZZA
Nessun solvente, sono esclusive formulazioni di resine in fase acquosa. La maggior parte delle ma-
terie prime utilizzate è certificata ECO-LABEL.
Puoi utilizzare qualunque tipo di colore : acrilico, smalto...
NON SERVONO STRATII PROTETTIVI prima di applicare i prodotti True Earth. Non sono assoluta-
mente aggressivi nei confronti di nessuna vernice.

TRANSPARENT FILTERS by brush

THINNING : DILUIZIONE :
For brush use, thinning is needed just when you want a softer-impact for an overall filter ( Per l’uso a pennello, la diluizione è necessaria solo quando vuoi “alleggerire” l’impatto di un filtro

BASE PAINT & avoid surface tense problems :
For the largest amount of effects, not too gloss, nor too matt paints of any type work better.
Greasy or too gloss surfaces work better when overpainted with a well thinned layer of MATT
LOCK.
For washes, a slightl glossy, or anyway less absorbant paint is a better surface. A thin layer
of well thinned CRYSTAL LOCK, over paints, although not enough to be fully glossy, is the
solution.
COLORI DI BASE ed evitare effetti di tensione superficiale :
Per la maggior parte degli effetti, colori ne troppo opachi ne troppo lucidi danno i migliori ri-
sultati.
Superfici grasse o troppo lucide rendono meglio se sovraverniciate con uno strato sottile di MATT
LOCK, ben diluito.
Per il lavaggi, colori leggermente lucidi o comunque meno assorbenti rendono al meglio. Un sot-
tile strato di CRYSTAL LOCK ben diluito sui colori, anche se non abbastanza per risultare com-
pletamente lucido, è la soluzione.

DROPS !
Ok, you’re painting your filter, maybe it’s heavily thinned because you
wanted to softly see the effect it makes. And now you discover the sur-
face is a bit tricky, and drops occur...
( The more the thinning, the more the “light” formulation of Transparent
Filters takes the properties of the medium you’re using, water. Thus the
surface tense you notice, expecially over “difficult” paints).
No fear, just move your brush back and forth until the Transparent Filter,
getting denser while drying, will adhere evenly. Always use small quan-
tity of filter on the brush, and you’ll have best results.

GOCCIOLINE !
Bene, stai stendendo il tuo filtro, magari è molto diluito perchè volevi deli-
catamente vedere l’effetto che fa. E scopri che la superficie non collabora, e
si formano delle goccioline.
( Maggiore la diluizione, e più la “leggera” formula dei Filtri Trasparenti ac-
quisisce le proprietà del mezzo in cui li diluisci, cioè l’acqua. Ecco il perchè
della tensione superficiale che noti , soprattutto su vernici “difficili” ).
Niente paura, continua a muovere il pennello avanti e indietro finchè il Filtro
Trasparente, addensandosi mentre asciuga, aderirà in modo uniforme. Usa
sempre minime quantità sul pennello, ed avrai i migliori risultati.

AIRBRUSHING TRANSPARENT FILTERS
AEROGRAFARE I FILTRI TRASPARENTI
THINNING :
For small spots sharp airbrushing , i personally prefer to use them as pure as possible.
Should you like or need thinning,, use water. Only for airbrush uses, water + best brands
acryl thinners, to bypass any surface tense (drops) problem over some paints. ( Transparent
filters are not acrylic formulations, but they were made compatible to these thinners to ac-
complish thinnest airbrushing tasks ).
AIR PRESSURE :
First of all must be pointed that each airbrush has it’s own preferencies. When you use pure
or almost pure Transparent Filters, higher pressures work better.
Like for any other new product, a few minutes try and you will see what fits better for your
style.
DILUIZIONE :
Quando lavoro su piccole zone, personalmente preferisco utilizzarli il più puri possibile.
Se necessita, o se vuoi diluirli, usa acqua. Per il solo uso ad aerografo, acqua + diluenti per acrilici
delle migliori marche, per superare eventuali problemi di tensione superficiale (goccioline) aero-
grafando sopra a colori difficili. (Le formule dei Filtri Trasparenti non sono acriliche, ma sono rese
compatibili con questi diluenti per ottenere gli effetti più precisi e delicati ).
PRESSIONE :
Prima di tutto dobbiamo notare che ogni aerografo ha le sue preferenze. Quando utilizzi i Filtri
Trasparenti puri o quasi, pressioni più alte danno risultati migliori.
Come per ogni nuovo prodotto, un paio di minuti di prove basteranno per scoprire cosa funziona
meglio per il tuo stile.

AVOID EXCESS !
As soon as you see a foggy-wet reflex where you’re airbrushing (use light incidence to help), stop and proceed to the
following spot. Work on one area at a time, with a minimal amount of filter.
As soon as you have treated all spots, filter will be dry over the whole model. Looking at the result of this first layer, you
will decide for a heavier effect with more layers or not. Remember these are filters, done for clean progressive effects. So
do not expect a paint-like coverage ! Should you overdo, just tap with absorbant paper.

3- EVITA GLI ECCESSI !

Appena vedi una nebbiolina, o il riflesso umido dove stai aerografando (usa l’incidenza della luce per vedere bene), fermati e
procedi nella zona successiva. Tratta una zona alla volta con una quantità minima di filtro.
Quando avrai trattato tutte le zone del modello. il filtro sarà già asciutto. Guardando al risultato di questa prima velatura, de-
ciderai se vuoi accentuare l’effetto con ulteriori passaggi o no.
Ricordati che questi sono filtri, fatti per effetti puliti e progressivi. Quindi non aspettarti una capacità coprente come i colori !
Hai esagerato ? Tampona delicatamente con carta assorbente.

Guarda come resta pulito l’aerografo dopo una sessione di filtri... basta una goccia d’acqua per la pulizia !

LIGHTS
LUCI

To lighten high spots and center panels is easier with PAINT FADING Filters.
They avoid you to create many color mixes, but to easily add lights and high-
lights over color.
A multi-layering method, availed by the low impact of any layer both in color
then in thickness, due to the peculiar resin formulation.

Schiarire le zone alte ed il centro delle pannellature, è molto più facile con i Filtri
DECOLORAZIONE.
Ti evitano di creare e stendere miscele diverse di colore, ma di illuminare e schiarire
progressivamente i colori.
Un metodo multi-strato permesso sia dal basso impatto che ogni strato ha sui colori,
sia dagli spessori infinitamente inferiori a quelli dei colori da modellismo, grazie alla
particolare formulazione in resina.

LIGHTS - NATURAL ENVIRONMENT ATTITUDE
LUCI - VERSO UNA LUCE NATURALE
And when you have to deal with camouflages, it’ s much easier-faster-realistic to use
single self-adaptable filters, regardless of the various paints, but working on panels and
shapes.
Did you notice that there are three PAITN FADING tones ?
Well, this is why they do not have to correspond to kit’s colors, but come from a long
study of natural lighting. This way you will add subtle and realistic environment lights,
also adding to chromatic richness, instead of “artistically” lightening each color with it’s
lighter shade. (this way you also spare a lot of paint mixes...)
TRUE EARTH = OBSERVE NATURE AND HER HABITS

E quando c’è una mimetizzazione, é molto più facile-veloce-realistico utilizzare filtri auto-
adattabili, senza curarti dei vari colori, ma lavorando sulle pannellature e sulle forme.
Hai notato che ci sono tre toni di FILTRI DECOLORAZIONE ?
Questo perchè non devono corrispondere ai colori applicati, ma provengono da approfon-
diti studi sulla luce ambientale. In questo modo applicherai al modello delicati effetti di
luce naturale, invece di schiarire “artisticamente” i colori con i loro corrispondenti più chiari.
(in questo modo ti risparmi anche un sacco di miscele di colore...)

SELECTIVE WASHES

Further advantage : in case of errors all filtering can be removed within one hour or more with water or soapy water.
Later instead, they will be permanently fixed.

Ulteriore vantaggio : in caso di erroi tutti i filtri possono essere rimossi entro un’ora o più con acqua o acqua saponata.
Lasciandoli invece asciugare, si fisseranno permanentemente.
