The Nolan Group History and philosophy

grandi aziende nascono dalle grandi passioni. E Nolan da sempre "passione per le Due Ruote". La storia di Nolan (acronimo del nome del fondatore) inizia nel 1972 quando Lander Nocchi, imprenditore nel settore degli accessori per moto ed auto, decide di impegnarsi nella fabbricazione di caschi da motociclista pi leggeri e meno costosi di quelli in commercio allepoca. Si procura, cos, dagli Stati Uniti, il Lexan, materiale plastico innovativo, leggero e versatile ed avvia la produzione di caschi in policarbonato. In ben 40 anni di storia si sono susseguite altre significative intuizioni, riconosciute ed apprezzate da milioni di consumatori distribuiti in circa 100 Paesi nel mondo. Lazienda ha fatto delle sue singolari capacit tecnicoproduttive e della continua ricerca dell'innovazione i principi cardine che lhanno portata al successo ed oggi in grado di offrire una vasta gamma di prodotti, destinati ad ogni tipo di motociclista ed in grado di soddisfare i consumatori pi esigenti. Nel tempo Nolan ha, infatti, elevato al massimo le prestazioni dei propri prodotti, assicurandone la conformit alle pi severe normative che regolano la produzione ed impiegando materiali sempre pi sofisticati.

Nel 1998 nasce X-lite. Un marchio nuovo per una seconda azienda, ma anche una vera sfida: il Gruppo Nolan sposta, infatti, i propri confini e le proprie conoscenze al segmento dei materiali compositi. Nel nuovo stabilimento dedicato esclusivamente alla produzione dei caschi in fibre composite le tecnologie industriali pi avanzate convivono e si integrano con la manualit e la cura artigianale che la lavorazione dei materiali compositi richiede. Ma "Gruppo Nolan" sinonimo di tecnologia, sicurezza e design, anche nella ricerca del miglior rapporto qualit/prezzo e Grex ne la testimonianza. Il marchio nasce nel 1993 e viene subito apprezzato per l'elevato livello qualitativo unito al prezzo contenuto dei prodotti. In seguito, la ricerca continua di soluzioni innovative spinge il Gruppo Nolan a sviluppare un sistema di comunicazione specifico per i propri caschi. Nasce cos, nel 2005, N-Com : una gamma completa di interfoni Bluetooth per tutti i motociclisti. I marchi Nolan, X-lite, Grex ed N-Com sono le quattro anime del Gruppo Nolan. companies are born out of great passions. Nolan has always meant "passion for Two Wheels". The history of Nolan (acronym of the founders name) began in 1972 when Lander Nocchi, an entrepreneur in the motorbike and car accessories sector, decided to produce motorcycle helmets that could be lighter and more affordable than those on the market at the time. He purchased, from a company in the United States, an innovative plastic material, Lexan, which was light and versatile, and started producing polycarbonate helmets. In the following 40 years, other important ideas have been put into production, and they proved to be well known and highly valued products by millions of customers in about 100 countries around the globe. The two biggest assets of the Company are its unique technical and production skills and its strive for innovation. This combination brought Nolan to success and the Company now offers a wide range of products, designed for any kind of rider and able to meet the needs of the most demanding customers. Over time, Nolan has been raising the performance level of its products, ensuring at the same time they would comply with the strictest production regulations and using state-of-the-art materials.

X-lite came into being in 1998. A new brand for a second Company and also a real challenge, since the Nolan Group pushed the boundaries of its own experience and knowhow, and moved into the composite materials sector. In the new special plant for the exclusive production of composite fibre helmets, the most advanced industrial technology goes hand in hand with craftsman's care and skills, which are typically associated with the processing of composite materials. The "Nolan Group" is synonymous of technology, safety, and design, also striving to achieve the best quality/price ratio: Grex is the proof. The brand was conceived in 1993 and has been appreciated from the start for the quality of its products combined with their affordable prices. In the following years, the continuous pursuit for innovative solutions led the Nolan Group to designing a dedicated communication system for its helmets. N-Com marketing starts in 2005: a full range of Bluetooth intercoms for all riders. Nolan, X-lite, Grex and N-Com are the four facets of the Nolan Group. One Group for one passion.

Per questo motivo, nella divisione Ricerca e Sviluppo, i tradizionali sistemi di modellazione manuale, tuttora in uso, sono stati affiancati da evolute tecniche di progettazione computerizzata, in grado di perfezionare le diverse fasi del progetto: da quelle preliminari, che presuppongono il confronto con le strategie di marketing aziendale attraverso design ed engineering, fino alla messa in produzione industriale. Tutto ci coordinato da personale qualificato, formatosi per lo pi allinterno dellazienda, al quale affidato il compito di mettere a punto prodotti innovativi, funzionali e dagli elevati contenuti tecnici, in grado di assicurare comfort esclusivo e calzata perfetta. conception of new models with more and more sophisticated designs, along with proper management of the development and design processes, are the most essential and sensitive aspects in the activities of the Nolan Group. All this is coordinated by qualified staff, mostly trained within the Company, whose task is to devise products that stand out; innovation, practicality and high-tech features guaranteeing to provide sublime comfort and a perfect fit.

In tal modo, vengono assicurati la costante evoluzione delle tecnologie di produzione, un servizio adeguato e curato alla clientela e la salvaguardia dei pi elevati standard qualitativi. Tutti i caschi del Gruppo Nolan sono garantiti per 5 anni dalla data di acquisto per qualsiasi difetto di materiali e fabbricazione. the stages in the production cycle of the Nolan, X-lite and Grex helmets are managed within the Company: from the receipt of raw materials to testing the products and their eventual packaging. This is how constant evolution of production technology is ensured, together with an appropriate and thoughtful customer service and the highest quality standards. All Nolan Group helmets are guaranteed for 5 years from the date of purchase against any material or production defect.

The Nolan Group Safety and quality

Sicurezza: il fine ultimo ed il principio alla base di ogni singolo prodotto del Gruppo Nolan, un concetto che viene anteposto ad ogni altra considerazione di carattere estetico, tecnico oppure economico. Un laboratorio interno, riconosciuto idoneo e certificato dal Ministero dei Trasporti Italiano, verifica il soddisfacimento dei test richiesti dalle varie normative vigenti. I caschi vengono successivamente consegnati a laboratori esterni per ottenere le relative omologazioni; vengono poi avviati alla produzione di serie. Al laboratorio interno , inoltre, affidato il compito di effettuare i controlli su materiali, prodotti e processo produttivo, attraverso prove distruttive a campione, al fine di garantire qualit costante. Grazie allattenzione ed alla cura con cui operano, gli stabilimenti Nolan si possono fregiare della certificazione ISO 9001:2008, il sistema di gestione per la qualit dellorganizzazione che consente di migliorare continuamente i vari processi, dalla progettazione, allo sviluppo, alla produzione, alla vendita.

Safety: the first and foremost target inspiring every single product by the Nolan Group. This concept is placed before all other considerations, be they aesthetic, technical and economic. An internal laboratory, recognised and certified by the Italian Ministry of Transport, ensures that regulatory compliance testing is carried out. The helmets are then sent to external laboratories for approval. Finally, line production can start. In addition, the internal laboratory oversees and guarantees all checks on materials, products and production processes, using destructive tests on random samples to ensure constant quality. Thanks to the attention and care to production, the Nolan plants have been awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification, the Quality Management System for companies: this entails constant improvement of the different production stages, from product design to its development, production and sale.

il Gruppo Nolan le competizioni sono sinonimo di ricerca e comunicazione. Il singolo prodotto viene, infatti, sviluppato testando le soluzioni suggerite dai piloti professionisti Nolan e X-lite schierati nei Campionati del Mondo. Prende cos forma laffidabile strumento di protezione e sicurezza, pronto per luso in pista come pure per il normale utilizzo su strada. E le competizioni rappresentano lideale banco di prova: i tecnici specializzati del Racing Service hanno, infatti, il duplice compito di fornire assistenza tecnica ai piloti e trasferire allazienda, per la produzione di serie, le preziose esperienze ed informazioni che solo lutilizzo esasperato del prodotto pu fornire. Da sempre il Gruppo Nolan sponsorizza nuovi talenti, che dalla classe 125cc accompagna fedelmente alla MotoGP e alla SBK. E cos che "quattro giovani promesse" sono i nostri Supercampioni: Casey, Jorge, Carlos e Marco.

the Nolan Group, races are synonymous with research and communication. Indeed, every single product is developed by testing the ideas and suggestions of the numerous professional riders lined up by Nolan and X-lite for World Championships. This is how this highly reliable safety device takes shape and gets set for track and normal road use. Races are also the ideal testing ground: our specialised technicians from the Racing Service carry out a double task. They provide technical assistance to our riders, and pick up that valuable know-how and information, which can only be obtained in extreme product use conditions and eventually passed on to our Company for line production. Nolan has always sponsored new talents and coming riders from 125cc class through to MotoGP and SBK class. So, "four of the young talents" are now ours Superchampions: Casey, Jorge, Carlos and Marco.

01 IMBOTTITURA INTERNA DI CONFORTO Limbottitura interna, amovibile e lavabile per i modelli e le versioni che lo prevedono, realizzata con un innovativo tessuto con trattamento antibatterico, in grado di offrire elevata freschezza e massimo comfort in ogni stagione ed in ogni condizione di guida. Il comfort del tessuto reso ancora pi gradevole dal design degli interni che, grazie ad innovativi sistemi di ventilazione e nuove canalizzazioni presenti sulla calotta interna, assicurano una temperatura ideale anche per il motociclista pi esigente. Le operazioni di smontaggio e montaggio dellimbottitura interna sono rese particolarmente agevoli dallesclusivo sistema di aggancio a scatto. 02 VENTILAZIONE INFERIORE Convoglia laria esterna sulla superficie interna della visiera per permetterne il disappannamento e garantire il ricambio daria. 03 SCHERMO PARASOLE (VPS) Lesclusivo VPS (Vision Protection System) uno schermo parasole posizionato allesterno o allinterno della visiera, semplice e comodo da utilizzare: basta abbassarlo per renderlo attivo, oppure sollevarlo per escluderlo dal campo visivo. utile in tutte le situazioni, nei lunghi tratti extraurbani o per brevi percorsi cittadini. Inoltre, il sistema di regolazione esclusivo adottato da Nolan Group permette di regolare il tiraggio della visierina Pinlock dallesterno della visiera, senza dovere effettuare lo smontaggio della stessa. 06 SISTEMA DI RITENZIONE NUOVO MICROLOCK 2 e MICROLOCK: Il nuovo sgancio Microlock 2 (patent pending), cos come il tradizionale sgancio Microlock (brevettato) di Nolan, si differenziano da quelli della medesima tipologia oggi presenti sul mercato, grazie al sistema a doppia leva. Tale sistema composto da prima leva di apertura ergonomica in materiale termoplastico ed una seconda, dentata e di tenuta, in alluminio. La leva dentata libera la fascetta micrometrica ed , pertanto, possibile aprire il sottogola solo dopo che la leva di apertura ha effettuato una rotazione molto ampia. Un importante accorgimento che riduce il rischio di aperture accidentali del sistema di ritenzione, senza tuttavia compromettere lergonomia e la facilit duso. Con il Microlock 2 il tutto viene completato da una sensibile riduzione delle dimensioni e del peso dello sgancio rispetto al Microlock, oltre che da una fascetta micrometrica a 10 scatti. 07 SISTEMA DI ESTRAZIONE POSTERIORE Il sistema di estrazione posteriore assicura, di concerto con il sistema di ventilazione, il costante ricambio daria allinterno del casco, favorendo leliminazione dellaria calda e viziata. Il flusso di aria fresca allinterno del casco assicurato dalle canalizzazioni presenti sulla calotta interna e dallimbottitura interna di conforto. 08 VENTILAZIONE SUPERIORE Favorisce limmissione di aria fresca allinterno del casco. Pu essere ad immissione diretta con flusso localizzato (ideale in presenza di temperature elevate) ed efficacia immediata, oppure con canalizzazione diffusa che assicura unottimale climatizzazione interna, evitando fastidiosi raffreddamenti localizzati. 05 ANTIFOG VISOR The Nolan Group was the first to adopt the Pinlock technology to avoid the production of condensation and fog in the visor; today it is the only company in the industry which produces Pinlock anti-fog visors in-house. Over time, this allowed the Nolan Group to acquire an in-depth knowledge of the problems, technologies and materials; today, thanks to this know-how and experiences, the company can guarantee a far superior product, with unmatched performances also in critical conditions of use. Moreover, thanks to the exclusive adjusting system adopted by the Nolan Group, the stretch of the Pinlock visor can be adjusted from the outside, thus making removal unnecessary. 06 RETENTION SYSTEM NEW MICROLOCK 2 AND MICROLOCK: Nolan's new (patent pending) Microlock 2 release, as well as the traditional (patented) Microlock release, differ from all the other releases currently on the market for the double lever system. This system is made of a first thermoplastic ergonomic opening lever, and of a second aluminium toothed holding lever. The toothed lever releases the micrometric strip, thus the chin strap can only be open with a very broad rotation of the opening lever. This fundamental device minimizes the risk of accidental opening of the retention system, making it still ergonomic and easy to use. The Microlock 2 comes together with considerable reduction of the size and weight of the release, compared to the traditional version, as well as with a 10-click micrometric strip. 01 INNER COMFORT PADDING The inner padding, which is removable and washable (for pre-set models and versions), is made by an innovative fabric, with antibacterial treatment, which can offer improved freshness and maximum comfort throughout the seasons and in all riding conditions. The fabric is made even more comfortable by the new design of the interior padding which, due to innovative ventilation systems and new air ducts in the inner shell, ensure a temperature which is ideal even for the most demanding motorcyclist. It can be easily removed and replaced, thanks to the exclusive snap mechanism. 02 LOWER VENTILATION This conveys external air onto the visor, thus ensuring defogging and ventilation inside the helmet. 03 SUNSCREEN (VPS) The exclusive VPS (Vision Protection System) is a simple and practical sunscreen that is positioned on the outside or inside of the visor: just lower or lift to use or exclude. Useful in all sorts of situations, whether its on long journeys out of town, or shorter trips about town. The VPS is easy to remove when it is not needed, or for normal maintenance and cleaning operations. It is moulded out of SABIC Innovative Plastics (former General Electric Plastics) Lexan OQ and is S/R (Scratch Resistant) and F/R (Fog Resistant). 04 WIND PROTECTOR It allows improvement of helmet performance in particular use conditions preventing air infiltration from the chin area. It is easily removable.
07 REAR EXTRACTION SYSTEM The rear extraction system, together with the ventilation system, ensures constant air exchange inside the helmet, promoting the removal of stale and air. The fresh air flow inside the helmet is ensured by the air ducts in the inner shell and the "Clima Comfort" inner padding. 08 TOP VENTILATION This conveys fresh air into the helmet. It may be with direct entry of air (ideal with high temperature) for immediate efficacy, or with a network of channels providing excellent climate control and preventing localized cold spots. Some models feature the JSW (Jet Stream Wing) patented system: thanks to the Venturi effect, the hot and stale air is conveyed away from the inner part of the helmet; local infiltrations of cold air are thus avoided. 09 N-Com is the line of communication systems designed by Nolan Group. Advanced technology and high performances for all the bikers: Bluetooth intercom with the pillion, communication up to 4 bikes, FM radio, management via PC, multiple external connection via cable and via Bluetooth. There are three product lines: the N-Com line, designed for Nolan helmets; the X-Series line, for X-lite helmets; the MULTI line, designed for Nolan and Grex helmets not pre-set for the N-Com communication system. CALOTTA ESTERNA IN POLICARBONATO stampata ad iniezione in policarbonato Lexan EXL, la resina che, a parit di forma, spessore e procedimento, assicura prestazioni superiori (ad altri materiali plastici), soprattutto in termini di resistenza ai forti impatti: durante la prova di resistenza allurto, tale prodotto ha fatto registrare valori pari a 900/1000 J/m, contro i valori massimi di 550/600 J/m della resina ABS. Dal 1972, Nolan utilizza puro policarbonato, anzich ABS, la materia prima impiegata per lo stampaggio della quasi totalit dei caschi da motociclista presenti sul mercato. Grazie ad una maggiore densit, il policarbonato ha propriet di resistenza meccanica ben superiori allABS, come dimostrato dagli scrupolosi test di laboratorio ai quali viene sottoposto: - a 80C (temperatura che il casco Nolan potrebbe sopportare in estate, chiuso in un bauletto), il policarbonato si mantiene stabile, mentre lABS conosce una deformazione; - alla temperatura di 100C, il policarbonato mantiene ancora la sua stabilit dimensionale, mentre lABS si deforma completamente. Lo stesso test svolto a -20C rivela come il policarbonato non presenti rotture alle temperature rigide, a differenza dellABS che diventa, invece, molto fragile. Infine, lABS contiene butadiene, sostanza chimica che nel tempo degrada rapidamente, tanto da cambiarne le propriet meccaniche dopo soli 6-12 mesi. Il policarbonato, al contrario, mantiene la sua struttura originale per molti anni. Inoltre, la resina Lexan EXL, ideata e prodotta dalla societ SABIC Innovative Plastics (gi General Electric Plastics), si contraddistingue anche per la sua resistenza termica: il "range" della resina Lexan EXL di SABIC Innovative Plastics va da -30C a +120C (per lABS: da -20C a +50C). Nolan effettua prove regolari su calotte verniciate e non, sia a temperatura ambiente che condizionate a -20C, attraverso un cannone ad aria compressa sul quale si posizionano calotta e mentoniera. Il test prevede sollecitazione del campione mediante un proiettile sparato allenergia di 400 Joule contro punti di impatto specifici. POLYCARBONATE OUTER SHELL is injection moulded with General Electric polycarbonate Lexan EXL, the resin that, with a defined shape, thickness and procedure, provides superior performance level to other plastics, especially in terms of high impact resistance: during impact testing, this product showed values of 900/1000 J/m, instead of 550/600 J/m for ABS resin. Since 1972, Nolan has used pure polycarbonate instead of ABS, the raw material used for moulding in almost all marketed motorcyclist helmets. Thanks to its higher density, polycarbonate has mechanical resistance properties which far exceed those of ABS, as shown in the thorough laboratory tests it undergoes: - at 80C (temperature to which the Nolan helmet might be exposed in summer, when locked in the top-case), polycarbonate is stable while ABS shows signs of deformation; - at 100C, polycarbonate still shows dimensional stability, contrary to ABS which is completely deformed. The same test run at -20C shows that polycarbonate does not present signs of breaks at very cold temperatures, differently from ABS which becomes very fragile. Finally, ABS contains butadiene, a chemical substance which degrades rapidly, modifying ABS mechanical properties after only 6-12 months. Polycarbonate, on the contrary, maintains its original structure unchanged for many years. Furthermore, the Lexan resin EXL , invented and produced by the company SABIC Innovative Plastics Company (former General Electric Plastics), also distinguishes itself by its superior thermal resistance: the range of SABIC Innovative Plastics Lexan EXL resin is between -30C and +120C (for ABS: -20C and +50C). Nolan regularly tests painted and unpainted shells, at ambient temperature and at temperature of -20C, by means of a compressed air pipe on which shell and chin guard are placed. The test consists of shooting a bullet with a 400 Joule energy towards specific points of impact.

It is painted with water-based paints (which are recognized as being "ecological", because they contain a lower percentage of solvents), with Hi-Brite, the protective hard coating assuring a long-term brightness of the colours. The painting process is also tested, by means of a specific climatic chamber. Shells are conditioned with specific thermal cycles of 15 hours, with a relative humidity between 10% and 75% and temperatures between 40C and 80C. An extreme test is also carried out at a 100C temperature. This will ensure the perfect durability of decals in any weather and temperature condition.

CALOTTA ESTERNA IN FIBRE COMPOSITE impiego dei materiali pi pregiati (carbonio, Kevlar, vetro) pu non essere sufficiente a garantire determinate prestazioni. Per tale ragione, continue ricerche e sperimentazioni da parte di X-lite hanno generato nuovi tessuti, nei quali i diversi materiali si combinano in quantit e trame predefinite, in grado di rispondere al meglio durante le varie fasi di lavorazione della calotta. Ma, soprattutto, lequilibrio tra peso contenuto e resistenza agli impatti della struttura in composito ad avere raggiunto valori di assoluta eccellenza, proprio grazie allimpiego di tessuti esclusivi. Il ciclo di verniciatura abbina fasi estremamente automatizzate (come lapplicazione dei vari colori sulla calotta) a procedimenti assolutamente manuali (quali lapplicazione delle grafiche), in grado di garantire un elevato standard qualitativo della finitura superficiale.

This is why X-lite has carried out constant research and experiments to create new fabrics where the single materials are combined in predetermined quantities and patterns, which ensure the best results in the construction stages of the outer shell. This procedure gives the best balance between shell lightness and shock resistance. The painting stage is a combined automatic and manual process, assuring a high quality standard for surface finishing. The shells have the various colours applied in automated phases, and the graphics are applied manually.

VISIERA stampata ad iniezione in resina Lexan OQ di SABIC Innovative Plastics (gi General Electric Plastics) ed offre protezione UV sino a 400 nanometri. conforme alla normativa ECE/ONU 22-05 (il Regolamento europeo introdotto nel 2000), che richiede la verifica delle propriet ottiche: le visiere devono, infatti, garantire una trasmittanza luminosa superiore all80% (es.: visiera neutra); ammessa anche una trasmittanza luminosa superiore al 50% (es.: visiera fum), se la visiera reca la dicitura "daytime use only" o il simbolo relativo. IMBOTTITURA INTERNA DI CONFORTO La ricerca e lo sviluppo presso i circuiti, maturati in stretta collaborazione con i piloti ufficiali del Gruppo Nolan, le prove in galleria del vento e le misurazioni effettuate mediante sofisticati sistemi di acquisizione dati di tipo telemetrico hanno consentito di realizzare interni dalle prestazioni elevate, per quanto concerne lassorbimento, la traspirazione ed il comfort di utilizzo. Completano il quadro i migliori tessuti tecnici, traspiranti ed anallergici, sottoposti a trattamento antibatterico per assicurare igiene e freschezza nel tempo, nonch lintroduzione della termosaldatura in alta frequenza (UHF), a parziale sostituzione delle pi tradizionali cuciture. Il tutto costantemente verificato attraverso prove di durata dei materiali.
INNER SHELL It is injection moulded with foam polystyrene and provides shock absorption. It can be injected in differentiated densities for the various shell areas, in order better to meet the requirements of the international standards.
INNER COMFORT PADDING The research and development at tracks, carried out in close co-operation with the Nolan Group official riders, the tests in the wind tunnel and the measurements taken by means of high-precision data detecting telemetric instruments have allowed Nolan to achieve high performances for their helmets inner padding in terms of shock absorption, breathability and comfort. The final result is achieved by the padding being lined with the best fabrics, hypoallergenic and breathable, which undergo the antibacterial treatment to ensure hygiene and freshness over long periods, not to mention the introduction of high-frequency thermowelding (UHF), partially to replace the more traditional stitching. Once finished, the padding then goes through wear tests.

SISTEMA DI RITENZIONE Il sistema di ritenzione uno degli elementi fondamentali per la sicurezza ed composto da: nastri, staffe, rivetti e sistema di chiusura. Questi componenti sono prodotti da fornitori opportunamente selezionati ed i materiali impiegati sono il risultato di ricerche scientifiche richieste dallazienda. Oltre ai controlli gi eseguiti dai fornitori, questi componenti vengono sottoposti ad una serie di test di routine in fase di accettazione. Tali controlli prevedono: prove di durata del sistema di chiusura (cicli di apertura/chiusura), prove di resistenza meccanica statiche e dinamiche, prove di usura. Tutta questa serie di verifiche si somma ai regolari controlli richiesti dagli standard omologativi internazionali.
ELEMENTI DI FUNZIONALIT I sistemi di ventilazione, i meccanismi laterali di apertura della visiera, gli elementi accessori di funzionalit (paravento e deflettore paranaso) sono sempre il risultato di specifici studi funzionali ed ergonomici, frutto dellesperienza maturata dal Gruppo Nolan in anni di sviluppo del prodotto. Prima di procedere con la produzione, ogni componente sottoposto ad unattenta fase di collaudo, durante la quale viene simulato, con cicli esasperati, il funzionamento del particolare, al fine di escludere debolezze strutturali o malfunzionamenti. Per esempio, la visiera, vincolata ad un braccio meccanico, sottoposta a 15.000 cicli di apertura/chiusura. Sono previste anche prove su strada, effettuate da tester specializzati, particolarmente abili ed allenati nel cogliere anche i minimi dettagli relativi al comportamento del casco durante la marcia. FUNCTIONALITY ELEMENTS The ventilation systems, the visor opening lateral mechanisms, the accessories for increased functionality (wind protector and breath deflector) follow on the policy of specific studies about functionality and ergonomics, springing from the experience in product development the Nolan Group has gathered over the years. Prior to processing, all components undergo a test where extreme use cycles are carried out to simulate the movement of each element, in order to rule out the occurrence of structural faults or malfunction. For instance, the visor, fastened to a mechanical arm, is submitted to 15,000 opening/closing cycles. Then, road tests are performed by specialized testers who are particularly skilled and trained to grasp even the slightest detail regarding the helmet reactions while riding.

RETENTION SYSTEM The retention system is among the most important safety elements and includes bands, hangers, rivets, and the fastening system. Selected suppliers are in charge of providing these components and the materials used are the result of scientific research required by the company. Besides the regular checks carried out by the suppliers, these components undergo a series of routine tests upon acceptance. In-house checks include a fastening system duration test (opening/closing cycles), both static and dynamic mechanical resistance tests, and wear tests. All such tests are made in addition to the customary tests required by international homologation standards.
USER MANUAL In consideration of the importance the helmet has in protecting the rider and keeping him safe, the product is accompanied by documents whose preparation has required a lot of time and care, meaning the instructions for use, the cleaning and maintenance tips, and the general information regarding a correct road use of the helmet. A full-face helmet with a flip-up chin guard fitted with a unique elliptical flip-up system which reduces the front section of the helmet to a minimum (even with the chin guard open) and prevents accidental closure. CHIN GUARD OPENING AND VISOR ROTATION MECHANISM The chin guard opening system features a rotation mechanism with an elliptical movement which reduces the helmet front section and prevents accidental closure of the guard/visor when open. The DOUBLE ACTION system, with safety visor lock, prevents the visor accidental opening. X-1002 is fitted with the SMART LIFT system, which has two coupled locking levers with single-handed opening through the left lever. 01 TOP VENTILATION The frontal air intake, which is controlled by a soft touch pressure key, directs the air inside the helmet through a network of channels to provide excellent climate control, and prevents localized cold spots. 01 LOWER VENTILATION The chin guard air intake works with the top vent, and is fitted with a special diffuser that directs the airflow throughout the helmet as well as onto the inside of the visor to prevent misting.

Gi a partire dallinizio della stagione motociclistica 2008, Casey Stoner, Jorge Lorenzo ed altri piloti sponsorizzati dal Gruppo Nolan hanno testato e sperimentato molte delle innovative soluzioni tecniche che sono presenti su questo casco, ora disponibile per i motociclisti pi sportivi ed esigenti. 01 VISIERA La visiera di X-802 completamente nuova, con importanti novit a livello progettuale che si traducono in una notevole ampiezza del campo visivo ed unottima geometria di rotazione di cui beneficiano tutte le operazioni di apertura, chiusura ed applicazione del sistema Pinlock, la visierina interna con profilo siliconato resistente allappannamento (in dotazione). Equipaggia il casco nella sua versione con superficie esterna curva, ma disponibile come accessorio anche nella versione piana, predisposta per lutilizzo delle visierine esterne a strappo (tear-off). In abbinamento alla nuova visiera, troviamo il meccanismo di rotazione che equipaggia ormai da anni tutti i caschi integrali Nolan: leggero, affidabile, con sgancio rapido della visiera senza lausilio di utensili, regolazione (4 mm) della chiusura sulla guarnizione obl, dispositivo DOUBLE ACTION* con la duplice funzione di: A blocco visiera, per impedirne lapertura accidentale, soprattutto a velocit elevate; B disappannamento della visiera, a bassa velocit oppure in caso di sosta, mediante apertura minima della stessa.

is the racing composite fibre helmet of Nolan Group. This design represents the culmination of years of experience in the top levels of motorcycle racing competitions. Each component (shell, visor, liner, and ventilation system) is the product of innovative development, aimed at providing a product with constant quality and perfect performance. Each part was carefully designed considering top performance and developed along an experimental and test scheme in the MotoGP. Already at the beginning of the 2008 motorcycle racing season, Casey Stoner, Jorge Lorenzo, and other riders sponsored by Nolan Group, tested and experimented many of the innovative technical solutions found on this helmet which is now available for the most serious and demanding riders. 01 VISOR The visor of X-802 is completely new, with conspicuous design innovations that result in an impressively wide field of vision and an excellent rotation mechanism, which benefits all movements for opening, closing, and application of the Pinlock system (the standard inner visor with a fog-resistant silicone-sealed profile). The curved outer surface model is equipped with this system, and it is also available in the flat model that is fit for the use of outer tear-off visors. The new visor is flanked by the rotational mechanism that has been fit on all Nolan full-face helmets for a number of years. The mechanism is light, reliable with a tool-free quick release visor, 4 mm adjustment of the air draught between the visor and the window trim, and DOUBLE ACTION* that: A visor lock, to prevent accidental visor opening, especially at high speeds; B visor demisting, at low speeds or during stops, by a minimum visor opening.

Si tratta di una microfibra elasticizzata di nuova generazione, capace di esercitare un controllo attivo della traspirazione, mediante una rapida dispersione dellumidit corporea. I guanciali amovibili ripropongono lormai apprezzata configurazione STEADYFIT a tripla densit differenziata, in grado di fornire un elevato comfort, pur in presenza di una significativa pressione sulle guance, indispensabile per mantenere il casco stabile anche in pista a velocit elevate. 03 ADJUSTABLE STABILITY DEVICE (ASD) Nella parte posteriore della calotta integrato un innovativo spoiler aerodinamico, con profilo variabile. 02 REMOVABLE COMFORT PADDING IN UNITHERM The UNITHERM fabric used to make the padding of X-802 is the top in comfort. It is the most up-to-date elasticised microfibre that actively regulates breathability by rapidly dispersing perspiration. The removable cheek pads offer the greatly appreciated STEADYFIT, essential to maintaining the helmet steady at high speeds thanks to its triple differentiated density configuration, which provides excellent comfort even under conditions of substantial cheek pressure.
03 ADJUSTABLE STABILITY DEVICE (ASD) An innovative aerodynamic adjustable rear spoiler is integrated in the shell. The product of experience and testing in the wind tunnel and on track, the new spoiler optimizes the aerodynamics of the helmet, stabilizing it at high speeds, and assists the extraction of hot air from the interior through outlet vents integrated directly in the spoiler. Its profile, and thus its aerodynamics, can be adjusted to one of the two available configurations to better suit riders different positions and styles.

03 VENTILATION Touring Ventilation System (TVS) X-702's innovative ventilation system (TVS) guarantees ideal comfort in all riding conditions. One air intake in the chin guard directs the air on the inner surface of the visor, while a second air intake directs the air flow on the rider's mouth. Side air intakes have a double function: when open they are extra air intakes facilitating the air flow in the chin area, when close, they direct hot and stale air out of the chin area, guaranteeing optimal comfort in the lower part of the helmet. The ventilation system also includes frontal and upper air intakes. Thanks to the inner air channels, these air intakes distribute air in the upper part of the head. The ventilation system is then completed by rear air extractors, guaranteeing constant and efficient air circulation.
04 REMOVABLE INNER COMFORT PADDING The inner padding of the new X-702 can be easily removed and washed. It is made of highly breathable, soft and fresh fabrics with antibacterial treatment which ensure excellent comfort. The reflective inserts, enriching the comfort padding, improves the rider's visibility at night and, consequently, the rider's active safety.

is the composite fibre helmet designed for riders of motard and street enduro motorbikes. Every detail was designed for a "crossover" use of the motorcycle: choice materials for the layers of the shell, extra comfortable high-tech fabrics for the interior, internal VPS sunscreen, standard ready for the N-Com X-Series communication system ( For further information see page 142) . Its streamlined but "muscular" lines are made even more attractive by the visor (perfectly combined with product design), the large peak and the complete and practical ventilation system. The peak provides adequate protection from sunlight, and is also a guarantee of safety while using the helmet on dirt roads. The X-551 can be used in its full configuration or without the peak or the visor. 01 VENTILATION The innovative ventilation system includes a wide and functional air intake in the chin area that makes even more effective Pinlock fog resistant inner visor FSB system, which is fitted as standard in the new X-551. 01 VENTILATION Air is directed into the helmet via two frontal air intakes and two other vents positioned in the upper part of the shell, which can be individually operated. Two rear spoilers extract hot air from the inside. Air circulation is further optimized by special ducts located in the helmet inner shell. Lower ventilation is managed by a central air intake, positioned in the chin guard, which facilitates direct air input. There are also two side extractors which assure constant air flow.
02 REMOVABLE COMFORT PADDING A new fully removable and washable liner is manufactured exclusively in UNITHERM, an extremely sophisticated and breathable material in stretch microfibre. UNITHERM is thermoregulating: dry and cool in all weather conditions, thanks to its ability to rapidly disperse body moisture. The structure of the padding is designed to improve air circulation and optimize the ventilation. Removing the liner is quick and easy with a new hook and lock retaining system.

The mechanism is light, reliable with a tool-free quick release visor, 4 mm adjustment of the air draught between the visor and the sealing trim. REMOVABLE COMFORT PADDING The padding is made from UNITHERM LIGHT, a special fabric that ensures excellent performance and comfort. It is the most up-to-date elasticised microfibre that guarantees active regulation of breathability by rapidly dispersing perspiration. The special shape of the liner ensures optimum air flow inside the helmet. The removable cheek pads ensure an exact and comfortable fit, which is appreciable both on long road trips and short city jaunts.

03 SCHERMO PARASOLE (Vision Protection System) 01 Un nuovo VPS interno equipaggia X-402 GT e ne completa lallestimento di altissimo livello. Particolare cura ed attenzione sono state prestate nella progettazione di questo componente ed il suo funzionamento molto efficace ed ergonomico. Con semplici ed intuitive operazioni, agevolate dal pratico tasto esterno di comando, il VPS pu essere attivato (abbassandolo) o ritirato allinterno della calotta in modo veloce e sicuro in ogni condizione di utilizzo, anche in presenza di repentini cambi di luminosit esterna. Prevede trattamento S/R (Scratch Resistant-resistente al graffio) e F/R (Fog Resistant-resistente all'appannamento). Pulizia e manutenzione sono agevolate da operazioni di smontaggio e rimontaggio particolarmente facili da eseguire. 04 MENTONIERA PROTETTIVA La nuova mentoniera protettiva permette la rapida trasformazione del casco da jet in integrale e viceversa (casco omologato P/J). Facile da montare, il paravento rende il casco ideale (con mentoniera agganciata) anche per un utilizzo durante i mesi invernali; inoltre, provvede ad unottimale chiusura della parte inferiore del casco, evitando infiltrazioni daria nella zona del mento. Le prese daria, azionabili singolarmente, assicurano un clima gradevole allinterno del casco e rendono ancora pi efficace la visierina antiappannamento Pinlock FSB di cui dotato di serie il nuovo X-402 GT.
03 SUNSCREEN (Vision Protection System) X-402 GT is fit with the new inner VPS which completes its top range equipment. Special care and attention have been given to its design. It is highly functional, efficient, and ergonomic. Operation is simple and intuitive, facilitated by the practical external control button, VPS can be activated (lowered) or stored within the shell rapidly and safely under all conditions, even under conditions of repeatedly changing brightness. It features S/R (Scratch Resistant) and F/R (Fog Resistant) treatment. Maintenance and cleaning are made simple thanks to easy disassembly and reassembly operations.
04 PROTECTIVE CHIN GUARD The new protective chin guard allows to rapidly change the helmet from open-face to full-face and the other way round (P/J approved helmet). Easy to install, the wind protector makes this helmet (with chin guard fastened) the ideal one for use during the winter months; in addition, it ensures optimum sealing in the lower part of the helmet, preventing possible air infiltration in the chin area. By removing the plugs, it is possible to assembly he chin guard and transform X-402 T from open-face to full-face. X-402 T is P/J approved and with chin guard (separately purchasable) fastened passes the homologation tests required by the ECE regulations for full-face helmets.The X-lite range of helmets is now complete with the addition of our innovative X-402 T, the highend jet helmet. Comfort, lightweight, practical to use, and fully equipped, this helmet is unique and practically impossible for other manufacturers to imitate. Each individual part has been designed for tourism and city use of motorcycles (and scooters). The helmet's weight and volume are thus kept to a minimum, proportionate to the rider's size. 02 CHIN GUARD ROTATION MOVEMENT The (patented) chin guard rotation movement with elliptical trajectory makes it possible to keep the total size of the helmet's front section to a minimum, when the chin guard is open. The "sail" effect is consequently highly reduced and riding comfort is still guaranteed, even when the chin guard is lifted. 03 DUAL ACTION CHIN GUARD OPENING SYSTEM The N104 version is fitted with the exclusive (patented) DUAL ACTION chin guard opening system. Positioned in the centre of the chin guard, it allows for easy, one-handed opening. The dual action opening mechanism reduces the risk of accidental opening to a minimum: the chin guard can be opened only operating the first release lever (or safety lock) and then activating the second lever.

04 "ULTRAWIDE" VISOR The visor assembled on the new N104 guarantees maximum riding comfort: the large surface makes it, indeed, possible to have a broader view, also lateral, thus highly increasing active safety. It can be removed easily and quickly, without any tools, for maintenance and/or replacement. It is also equipped with* Pinlock anti-fog visor with silicone-sealed profile (FSB). 05 ANTI-FOG VISOR The N104 is equipped* with Pinlock anti-fog visor with silicone-sealed profile (FSB). The exclusive shape of the visor offers a considerably broader field of vision, eliminating any interference in the upper part of the visor. 06 VISION PROTECTION SYSTEM (VPS) The internal sunscreen on the new N104 is easy to activate, thanks to the innovative and intuitive (patent pending) activating system. It allows automatic and immediate retraction of the screen in the standby position, thus simplifying and speeding up the retraction process (e.g. when entering a tunnel). The internal sunscreen (VPS) is S/R (Scratch Resistant) and F/R (Fog Resistant) treated. 07 VENTILATION system. The ventilation of the helmet's upper part uses the It ensures optimal ventilation where the rider's head most requires it avoiding any dispersion: the air is, indeed, extracted and forced into the most critical areas to guarantee maximum comfort also in extreme riding conditions. The new N104 innovative ventilation system is also equipped with an air intake in the chin guard, an air intake in the frontal area and two rear extractors recycling air inside the helmet. 08 INNER COMFORT PADDING It is made up of removable cheek pads, inner liner, neck roll and wind protector. The inner padding of the new N104 is easily removable and washable and it is made of highly breathable, soft and fresh fabrics which ensure excellent comfort also in long rides. The fabric used also undergo antibacterial treatment.
07 VENTILAZIONE che assicura La ventilazione superiore sfrutta lesclusivo sistema unottimale aerazione laddove la testa del pilota necessita maggiormente, evitando possibili dispersioni: laria viene, infatti, prelevata e condotta forzatamente nelle zone pi critiche, al fine di garantire il massimo comfort anche in condizioni di guida estreme. Linnovativo sistema di ventilazione del nuovo N104 completato da una presa daria mentoniera, una presa daria posizionata nella zona frontale e due estrattori posteriori che provvedono ad un costante ricircolo daria allinterno del casco. 08 IMBOTTITURA INTERNA DI CONFORTO composta da guanciali, cuffia, paranuca e paravento amovibili. Facilmente smontabile e lavabile, limbottitura interna del nuovo N104 realizzata in tessuti altamente traspiranti, morbidi e freschi, in grado di assicurare eccellente comfort anche nei lunghi tragitti.

I tessuti impiegati per la confezione sono, inoltre, sottoposti a trattamento antibatterico. La conformazione dellimbottitura interna favorisce lalloggiamento degli occhiali. Linserto rifrangente, posizionato al centro del paranuca, favorisce maggiormente la visibilit del motociclista nelle ore notturne, incrementando conseguentemente la sicurezza attiva dello stesso. Il paranuca facilmente amovibile per aumentare il comfort nei mesi pi caldi. 09 NUOVO SISTEMA DI RITENZIONE MICROLOCK N104 equipaggiato con il nuovo sistema di ritenzione con regolazione micrometrica Microlock 2. Il nuovo sgancio Microlock 2 (patent pending), cos come il tradizionale sgancio Microlock (brevettato) di Nolan, si differenziano da quelli della medesima tipologia oggi presenti sul mercato, grazie al sistema a doppia leva. Tale sistema composto da una leva di apertura ergonomica in materiale termoplastico ed una seconda, dentata e di tenuta, in alluminio. La leva dentata libera la fascetta micrometrica ed , pertanto, possibile aprire il sottogola solo dopo che la leva di apertura ha effettuato una rotazione molto ampia. Un importante accorgimento che riduce la possibilit di aperture involontarie del sistema di ritenzione, senza compromettere lergonomia e la facilit duso. Con il Microlock 2 il tutto viene completato da una sensibile riduzione delle dimensioni e del peso dello sgancio rispetto al Microlock, oltre che da una fascetta micrometrica a 10 scatti. 10 PREDISPOSIZIONE N-COM N104 predisposto per essere equipaggiato con il sistema di comunicazione N-Com B4, appositamente studiato per questo nuovo modello. Inoltre, N104 omologato con il sistema di comunicazione installato e risulta, pertanto, conforme al regolamento ECE/ONU 22-05. 11 OMOLOGAZIONE Il nuovo N104 omologato P/J nel rispetto della normativa vigente ECE/ONU 22-05. Lomologazione P/J permette al motociclista di condurre il motoveicolo sia con mentoniera chiusa che con mentoniera aperta.

The shape of the inner comfort padding facilitates eyeglass wearing. The reflective insert at the centre of the roll neck further improves the rider's visibility at night and, consequently, the rider's active safety. The neck roll can be removed easily, for more comfort in the warmer months.
09 NEW MICROLOCK RETENTION SYSTEM2 The N104 version is equipped with the new Microlock 2 The new (patent pending) Microlock 2 release, as the traditional (patented) Microlock release by Nolan, differ from all other releases currently on the market for their double lever system. This system consists of a thermoplastic ergonomic opening lever, and of a second aluminium toothed and holding lever. The toothed lever releases the micrometric strip, thus the chin strap can only be open with a very broad rotation of the opening lever. This important device minimizes the possibility of unintentional opening of the retention system, making it still ergonomic and easy to use. The Microlock 2 comes together with considerable reduction of the size and weight of the release, compared to the traditional version, as well as with a 10-click micrometric strip.
10 SET UP FOR N-COM The N104 is set up to be equipped with the N-Com B4 communication system, designed expressly for this new version. The N104 has been approved with the communication system installed and, therefore, complies with the UN/ECE 22-05 standard. 11 HOMOLOGATION STANDARD The new N104 is P/J approved, in compliance with the legislation currently in force UN/ECE 22-05. P/J approval allow the motorcyclist to ride the vehicle both with open and closed chin guard.

04 SISTEMA DI APERTURA DELLA MENTONIERA N90 dotato del sistema di apertura DUAL ACTION che, posizionato al centro della mentoniera, ne consente lapertura utilizzando una sola mano. Tale sistema stato concepito per assicurare la massima praticit; il meccanismo a doppia azione evita aperture accidentali della mentoniera, garantendo in tal modo la massima sicurezza. N90 omologato P/J, ovvero ha superato i test omologativi previsti dalla normativa ECE sia in configurazione integrale (con mentoniera chiusa) che in configurazione Jet (con mentoniera aperta), con una specifica leva di controllo che assicura la mentoniera in posizione sollevata. Si caratterizza, infine, per i famosi ed apprezzati dettagli Nolan : sistema di ritenzione Microlock, trattamento antibatterico per il rivestimento interno, sistema Nolan Fog Resistant (NFR). Lapertura della mentoniera avviene attraverso un particolare punto di rotazione che riduce larea frontale con la mentoniera in posizione aperta.
04 CHIN GUARD OPENING SYSTEM N90 is fitted with the DUAL ACTION opening system: positioned in the centre of the chin guard, it allows for easy, one-handed opening. This opening system was designed to ensure ultimate practicality. The Dual Action mechanism prevents the chin guard from opening accidentally, thus guaranteeing maximum safety.
N90 is P/J approved, that is it has successfully passed the type-approval tests required by the ECE regulations, both for the full-face configuration (with closed chin guard) and Jet configuration (with open chin guard), thanks to its particular control lever holding the chin guard when it is lifted. The new N90 is also characterized by Nolan famous, highly valued details: Microlock retention system, antibacterial treatment for the inner lining and Nolan Fog Resistant (NFR) system. The chin guard is opened by means of a special rotation point, which reduces the frontal area when the chin guard is open.

Ogni dettaglio stato progettato pensando alle massime prestazioni e sviluppato seguendo un lungo percorso di sperimentazione e collaudo presso i circuiti della MotoGP. Gi a partire dallinizio della stagione motociclistica 2008, Casey Stoner, Jorge Lorenzo ed altri piloti sponsorizzati dal Gruppo Nolan hanno testato e sperimentato molte delle innovative soluzioni tecniche che sono presenti su questo casco, ora disponibile per i motociclisti pi sportivi ed esigenti. 01 VISIERA La visiera di X-802 completamente nuova, con importanti novit a livello progettuale che si traducono in una notevole ampiezza del campo visivo ed unottima geometria di rotazione di cui beneficiano tutte le operazioni di apertura, chiusura ed applicazione del sistema Nolan Top Fog Resistant, la visierina interna con profilo siliconato resistente allappannamento (in dotazione). Equipaggia il casco nella sua versione con superficie esterna curva, ma disponibile come accessorio anche nella versione piana, predisposta per lutilizzo delle visierine esterne a strappo (tear-off). In abbinamento alla nuova visiera, troviamo il meccanismo di rotazione che equipaggia ormai da anni tutti i caschi integrali Nolan: leggero, affidabile, con sgancio rapido della visiera senza lausilio di utensili, regolazione (4 mm) della chiusura sulla guarnizione obl, dispositivo DOUBLE ACTION* con la duplice funzione di: A blocco visiera, per impedirne lapertura accidentale, soprattutto a velocit elevate; B disappannamento della visiera, a bassa velocit oppure in caso di sosta, mediante apertura minima della stessa.

is the racing composite fibre helmet of Nolan Group. This design represents the culmination of years of experience in the top levels of motorcycle racing competitions. Each component (shell, visor, liner, and ventilation system) is the product of innovative development, aimed at providing a product with constant quality and perfect performance. Each part was carefully designed considering top performance and developed along an experimental and test scheme in the MotoGP. Already at the beginning of the 2008 motorcycle racing season, Casey Stoner, Jorge Lorenzo, and other riders sponsored by Nolan Group, tested and experimented many of the innovative technical solutions found on this helmet which is now available for the most serious and demanding riders.

01 VISOR The visor of X-802 is completely new, with conspicuous design innovations that result in an impressively wide field of vision and an excellent rotation mechanism, which benefits all movements for opening, closing, and application of the Nolan Top Fog Resistant system (the standard inner visor with a fog-resistant silicone-sealed profile). The curved outer surface model is equipped with this system, and it is also available in the flat model that is fit for the use of outer tear-off visors. The new visor is flanked by the rotational mechanism that has been fit on all Nolan full-face helmets for a number of years. The mechanism is light, reliable with a tool-free quick release visor, 4 mm adjustment of the air draught between the visor and the window trim, and DOUBLE ACTION* that: A visor lock, to prevent accidental visor opening, especially at high speeds; B visor demisting, at low speeds or during stops, by a minimum visor opening.

Si tratta di una microfibra elasticizzata di nuova generazione, capace di esercitare un controllo attivo della traspirazione, mediante una rapida dispersione dellumidit corporea. I guanciali amovibili ripropongono lormai apprezzata configurazione STEADYFIT a tripla densit differenziata, in grado di fornire un elevato comfort, pur in presenza di una significativa pressione sulle guance, indispensabile per mantenere il casco stabile anche in pista a velocit elevate. 03 ADJUSTABLE STABILITY DEVICE (ASD) Nella parte posteriore della calotta integrato un innovativo spoiler aerodinamico, con profilo variabile. 02 REMOVABLE COMFORT PADDING IN UNITHERM The UNITHERM fabric used to make the padding of X-802 is the top in comfort. It is the most up-to-date elasticised microfibre that actively regulates breathability by rapidly dispersing perspiration. The removable cheek pads offer the greatly appreciated STEADYFIT, essential to maintaining the helmet steady at high speeds thanks to its triple differentiated density configuration, which provides excellent comfort even under conditions of substantial cheek pressure.
03 ADJUSTABLE STABILITY DEVICE (ASD) An innovative aerodynamic adjustable rear spoiler is integrated in the shell. The product of experience and testing in the wind tunnel and on track, the new spoiler optimizes the aerodynamics of the helmet, stabilizing it at high speeds, and assists the extraction of hot air from the interior through outlet vents integrated directly in the spoiler. Its profile, and thus its aerodynamics, can be adjusted to one of the two available configurations to better suit riders different positions and styles.

The result of accurate volumetric tests, this helmet is equipped with a perfectly integrated sunscreen (VPS) inside the shell. The quick-change/tool-free visor mechanism operates only with the visor in the open position avoiding accidental opening whilst riding. N85 is fitted with a removable, washable inner comfort padding. 01 TOP VENTILATION SYSTEM The air intake located on the front part of the shell allows the conveyance of air into the shell, no matter if the VPS sunscreen is lowered or lifted. There are two versions of upper air intakes according to the helmet model range: in addition to the two standard (open/closed) positions for all versions, the "top of the line" versions are also equipped with an air extraction position. The extractor recessed into the rear of the shell, under the spoiler, ensures optimal dispersion of inner heat.
02 LOWER VENTILATION SYSTEM The air intakes, with their perforated cover plates with metal finishing, ensure ventilation of the lower part of the helmet. The innovative lower ventilation system is controlled by a convenient, easy to handle device that, located on the bottom of the chin guard, allows conveying air directly to the visor to limit fogging and formation of condensation. 03 VPS (Vision Protection System) Internal sunscreen easily operated from the outside: it can be disassembled for cleaning or replacing. The N33 is an absolutely versatile product, due to the various possible combinations for visor/VPS. 01 - The top ventilation system consists of one frontal air intake and two direct air intakes. The two slide-over side extractors allow warm and stale air to flow out, ensuring a constant change of air. The ventilation system has also a rear hot air extractor that covers the entire length of the helmet.
02 - The "extra long" visor is convex and provides excellent air protection. N20 TRAFFIC is equipped with a removable and washable comfort padding. The retention system is Microlock. The Made in Italy raised to the second power for this line of helmets that brings together Nolan and Fiat, both historical brands. The 500 version evokes the legendary car, faithfully reproducing the front and back. The 500 EMOTICON version can be customised using the stickers provided, while the RACING version proposes the Fiat logo, which for some years has been filling with colour the MotoGP racetracks. The Italian flag is present on all versions, an important detail that emphasizes the uniqueness of this Collection.

The RF2 full-face flip-up model offers a particularly extended range of standard features, including: internal sunscreen, scratch resistant visor with protection up to 400 nanometres and ready for Nolan Fog Resistant (NFR) system, chin guard Dual Control Lift system (for single handed opening).
