Eames, soprattutto nell’accostamento dei
materiali, ma attualizzato dal rigore di
forme geometriche più squadrate e
rettilinee.

The name brings Franco Albini and his

Concentrandosi sullo studio delle “cellule”
e dei “rami cerebrali”, il designer ha
tentato di creare un modulo che potesse
ripetersi offrendo una vasta gamma di
forme e spazi adatti a crescere
“organicamente” per rispondere alle
mutanti esigenze del consumatore finale.
“Sinapsi”, il nuovo progetto modulare per
scaffalature che si “ramifica” adottando
una varietà di connessioni e relazioni, crea
itinerari e spazi differenti per ospitare gli
oggetti personali. L’aspetto finale verrà
deciso dall’utilizzatore “giocando” con le
forme, i percorsi della vita verranno messi
in scena. Anche la tecnologia utilizzata
per i processi lavorativi è rivoluzionaria:
anziché essere curvato, il legno viene
piegato e pressato fino ad ottenere la
forma desiderata. Questo processo
industriale consente infatti la creazione di
forme organiche, anche complesse, senza
l’utilizzo di costosi stampi.

being bent, the wood is folded and
pressed to obtain the desired form. This
industrial process allows for creating even

I cassettoni di Horm, nati nel 1998, si
arrichiscono di una nuova versione più
preziosa e funzionale ampliando di fatto
le opportunità di utilizzo offerte da questo
classico prodotto. La preziosità è data
dall’inserto di una elegante piccola
porzione della panca Ripples di Toyo Ito
che ne caratterizza l’aspetto estetico
cambiando completamente l’immagine di
Comò che per anni ci eravamo abituati a
vedere. La funzionalità si concretizza con
un raffinato vassoio ricco di ben molti
piccoli scomparti pronti ad accogliere
anelli e collane piuttosto che orologi ed
occhiali. Il nome vuole ricordare le due
origini di questo ulteriore progetto Horm:
COM quale radice di Comò, il padre
tecnico e RI quale rimando a Ripples,
progenitore estetico.

Horm’s line of chests of drawers, born
CO
in 1998, is enriched by a new, more
unique and functional model which also
amplifies the practical uses traditionally
offered by this classic product. The
product is made unique by the insertion
of a small, elegant segment of the
MRÌ
Ripples bench by Toyo Ito which marks
its aesthetic look, completely changing
the imago of the Comò that we were
used to seeing over the years. Elegance
is made functional by the refined tray
adorned with 30 small compartments
ready to receive rings and necklaces
rather than watches and eyeglasses.
The name recalls the two origins of
this latest Horm project: COM from
Comò, the technical father of the piece,
and RI referring to Ripples, its aesthetic
ancestor.

Una porzione di Ripples, la celebre panca
di Toyo Ito che è valsa un Compasso
d’Oro nel 2004, viene utilizzata per
realizzare un nuovo prodotto di Horm.
A sottolineare l’importanza che il
progetto di Ito rappresenta, si è pensato
di racchiuderla in un ponte di vetro
extraclear, curvato e temperato, che
la impreziosisce e la “celebra”. L’intento
è anche quello di dare la possibilità di
avere in casa una “Piccola Ripples” anche
a chi, pur amando la Panca, non ha però
lo spazio per accoglierla degnamente.
Bifronte è completato da un cestone su
ruote che ha suggerito il nome di questo
nuovo prodotto Horm, si presenta infatti,
con un fronte laccato bianco e quello
opposto in Noce Canaletto proponendosi
come un jolly per diverse situazioni
cromatiche.

A segment of Ripples, the celebrated
BI
bench by Toyo Ito that was awarded
with a Compasso D’Oro award in 2004,
is used in the creation of a new Horm
product. To underline the importance
of Ito’s project, the segment was enclosed
in a bridge of curved and tempered extra

clear glass, which embellishes and
“celebrates” it. It was also our intention
to allow those who love the Bench but
lack the space to display it properly to
adorn their homes with a “Small
Ripples”. Bifronte is finished with a
ON
chest on wheels which, as the name of
this new Horm product suggests, has
one side finished in white lacquer and
the opposite side in Canaletto Walnut,
offering itself as a wildcard suited to
varying color schemes.
