PRESENTAZIONE map S.p.A. ha sviluppato, all’interno di una nuova linea di prodotti ecosostenibili per il controllo
del rumore, una massa viscoelastica fonoimpedente particolarmente qualificata per
comportamento al fuoco, non gocciolante, a bassa emissione fumi e tossicità. E’ riciclabile e
rappresenta l’unica vera alternativa al piombo e alle masse in PVC.

INTRODUCTION map S.p.A. has developed, within a new line of ecosustainable products for noise reduction, a
viscoelastic sound insulator mass particularly qualified in terms of fire behaviour. It’s a no drip ma-
terial, characterized by low flame spread and low smoke density and gas toxicity. It’s recyclable
and it represents the only existing alternative to lead and PVC masses.

CARATTERISTICHE Mapflex® è un isolante acustico e smorzante flessibile di tipo viscoelastico, composto di polimeri
GENERALI plastici arricchiti di cariche minerali. Può essere reso in versione autoadesiva, è facilmente
fustellabile o lavorabile a mano con normali lame da taglio. Può essere finito superficialmente con
tessuto-non-tessuto per aumentarne la resistenza e favorirne l’applicazione su superfici sconnesse,
con tessuti di fibra di vetro, con film di alluminio ed essere accoppiato a fonoassorbenti tessili ed in
resine sintetiche di varia natura.

GENERAL FEATURES Mapflex® is a flexible viscoelastic sound insulator and damper, made of plastic polymers and
mineral fillers. It can be produced in self-adhesive version, it is easy to die-cut and it is hand-
workable with normal blades. Its surface can be finished with Non-Woven Fabrics, in order to in-
crease resistance and to allow application on discontinuous surfaces, also with fibreglass fabrics
and aluminium films. It can be coupled to textile sound-absorbers and various synthetic resins.

GENERALITA’ Mapflex® è una barriera acustica polimerica flessibile con elevate prestazioni di fonoisolamento e
smorzamento, in rapporto al suo spessore di pochi millimetri (1÷5). Le prestazioni tecniche ed
acustiche sono riportate nella nostra scheda tecnica TI 039/04.

INTRODUCTION Mapflex® is a polymeric flexible sound barrier endowed with high sound insulation and damping
properties, in ratio to its thickness of few millimetres (1÷5). Technical and acoustic performances are
described in our TI039/04 datasheet.

AMBIENTE DI Mapflex® è atossico, inodore, riciclabile e pertanto può essere lavorato e manipolato in qualsiasi
LAVORO ambiente di lavoro. Per una maggior maneggevolezza consigliamo di lavorarlo a temperatura
ambiente compresa tra 10° ÷ 25°C.

WORKING Mapflex® is not toxic, odourless, recyclable: then it can be worked and manipulated in any working
ENVIRONMENT environment. For better handling it is suggested to work it at a temperature between 10 and 25 Cel-
sius degrees.

PROTEZIONE Non necessita di alcun tipo di particolare protezione, se non quelle normalmente dovute per materiali

APPLICAZIONE Mapflex® può essere applicato su un gran numero di superfici: acciaio, alluminio, legno, acciaio
inox, vetroresina, ABS, materiali plastici e compositi in genere. Per applicazioni con fissaggi/fermi
meccanici e arpioni non necessita di alcuna particolare cautela. L’applicazione per incollaggio richiede
le attenzioni tipiche di questa tecnologia: asciugatura e pulizia da polveri e grassi delle superfici da
trattare ed evaporazione del solvente prima dell’accoppiamento. Non è solubile in acqua né in
soluzioni acquose, e resiste alla maggior parte degli oli, grassi e comuni fluidi.

APPLICATION Mapflex® can be installed on a wide range of surface-type: steel, aluminium, wood, stainless steel,
glass reinforced plastics, ABS, plastic materials and composites in general. No special caution is re-
quired for mechanical application (hooks, pins, bolts, etc.). Bonding application requires typical cau-
tions of this technology: dry and clean from dust and grease all surfaces to be treated and let sol-
vents evaporate before coupling. It is not soluble in water nor in watery solutions and it resists to the
most part of oils, greases and fluids.

superficie da trattare, di valutare il prodotto adesivo in base al peso per unità di superficie sul quale
deve essere applicato. Vi suggeriamo anche di prendere visione delle relative schede tecniche.

SELF-ADHESIVE Following, some of our positioning adhesives endowed of high performances are listed. However it is
VERSION suggested, after having verified temperature resistance and interface compatibility, to consider im-
portance of surface weight of the mass to be adhesivized. It is suggested also to get information con-
