More than twenty years after the launch of the original project,
the Tate family of chairs and stools by Jasper Morrison has been
completely renewed in its look and finishes to g ive a touch of
freshness and innovation to one of the bestselling products of the
Cappellini catalogue.
Three different seat models, three different base options and a
wide range of colors and finishes make t he Tate a n extremely
versatile object, capable of adapting to the most various contexts,
be it a residential space or a hospitality project.

JASPER MORRISON

Londinese di nascita, Jasper Morrison si laurea al Royal College of Art e apre il suo primo studio nel
1986 per iniziare, subito dopo, una lunga e fertile collaborazione con Cappellini. Questo fortunato
incontro ha portato ad accogliere nella collezione Cappellini più di 30 progetti di successo, tutti
connotati dalla cifra distintiva di Morrison, che pone sempre un’estrema attenzione ai dettagli, ai
materiali, alle forme, all’ingegnerizzazione del prodotto, al comfort e alle finiture. Oggi Jasper
Morrison vive e lavora fra Londra e Tokyo ed è considerato uno dei più importanti designer
industriali degli ultimi decenni. I suoi prodotti sono presenti al MoMA di New York e in altri importanti
musei di tutto il mondo. Morrison dona ai suoi progetti un’eleganza minimalista che li rende
estremamente moderni, pur ponendosi come una sorta di archetipo essenziale legato al passato,
anteponendo sempre la funzione all’espressione.

Born in London, Jasper Morrison graduated from the Royal College of Art and opened his first studio in
1986, when he also began a long and fruitful collaboration with Cappellini. This fortunate encounter led to
the introduction of more than 30 highly successful products as part of the Cappellini collection, all
defined by Morrison’s distinctive design, as well as by his rigorous attention to details, including materials,
shapes, engineering, comfort, finish and color. Today, Jasper Morrison lives and works in London and
Tokyo and he is considered as one of the most successful industrial designers of the past few decades.
His designs are represented in the MoMA in New York and other prominent museum collections around
the world. Morrison infuses his projects with a minimalist elegance that makes them extremely modern,
though they can also be considered essential archetypes with roots in the past, whereby function always
comes before form.
