vivifica in noi.
sperimentatori.
Esso ci porta dall’ontico (contenitore, forma esteriore, apparenza) all’ontologico (contenuto, significato,
L’inconscio è arazionale per definizione, e per comunicarci, disdegna la parola, chiusa ontologicamente;
integro, vivo e attivo, e pur restando velato a livello conscio, lavora dentro, sottoterra, portandolo
In
silenzio e con calma.
Digeriti.
pochi altri linguaggi mostrano.

The Symbol
1. Introduction
We see the first symbol in mathematics and, through it, we try to understand its
cognitive moment.
When we write 1, in its geometric form, i.e. the sign "1", it conveys to us the idea
of the unity that comes alive in us. "1" that is, the sign is the first perceptive
experience which then, only in a second moment, through our associative path,
will lead us to the abstract concept of unity.
Now in these 3 moments, the symbol speaks to us and shows us different things,
and to everyone it often shows different things.
First of all there is the perception of the symbol starts from the senses (sight -
hearing - touch etc..), and this gives the same information to every man. The sign
results and is read in the same way by everyone.
The symbol therefore has an objective moment for everyone in an indistinct way,
from the perceptive point of view. And this is fundamental to create a basis of
common language. The symbol is equal and fair... to the king and the beggar it
shows itself in the same form.
This is a fundamental premise to constitute a universal language for every man, in
time and space. And few languages have this power as much as the symbol.
Surely the word is devoid of it.
This has led to the use of the symbol to communicate important messages, in
space and time since ancient times. Thus, the first point of the cognitive path
already has in itself a fundamental value in understanding the power of the
symbol.
The cross, the Tao, or the ∞ or the eye of Horus; depending on the people,
latitudes and historical periods, we find multiple meanings, sometimes
contradictory to each other, yet all consistent and sustainable.
The symbol is therefore, at a deep analysis, a journey within ourselves, and in such
a journey, the important thing is not so much the final decoding, but the inner
associative process.
Since the symbol speaks to us twice: in practice it indicates a message hidden in
it, and this has an operative aspect; but in the path itself, it becomes a catalyst, to
help us develop associations within us that speak to us, in turn, of what we are as
beings and where we are heading; and this is the speculative-introspective aspect.
The symbol therefore opens the one who experiences it, puts it into action and
stimulates it on all levels, even the unconscious ones.
Repulsions and attractions towards certain symbols or geometrical figures are not
explained except from the point of view of the movement that the symbol
stimulates in our being.
This is also why the unconscious speaks to us, in our dreams, through symbols.
The unconscious is arational by definition, and in order to communicate with us, it
disdains the word, closed ontologically; instead, it resorts to symbolic language, a
more open and suitable language, in its blurred forms, to convey heterogeneous
and profound meanings.
It is precisely here, in the unconscious, that this second moment finds its most
fertile ground.
Because in the dream, if we are ready to look inwardly, in a neutral way, we can
grasp the path that takes place in our mind and how it dresses the concepts of
particular symbols; the interesting aspect of the dream is that it is covered with a
very particular symbol: in function exactly of how we reason and see the
experience.
This is why interpreting dreams not only has the value of telling us what is
contained in our unconscious, but also of showing us how we live-structure both
the external world and our inner self.
The symbol, as a signifier, is also a protective dress for meanings.
In the person, if it is not yet the right time for the work of symbolic decoding,
especially in dreams or visions, the message covered by the symbol, as a
protective dress, remains intact, alive and active, and while remaining veiled on a
conscious level, it works inside, underground, bringing it into our path; the
unconscious-symbolic message becomes speaking and leads us to action.
The symbols, all of them, not only those of the dream, must therefore be lived
inwardly, in time and in the body. In silence and calmly. Digested.
They must not be discovered, revealed, burned...to generate they must be in the
dampness of the earth, like a root; only in this way can they continuously generate
infinite potentiality.
That's why symbols should never be crystallized... to rationalize them is to kill
them.
One must never fall into this easy temptation.
The third moment of the symbolic path is finally the resulting concept that appears
to our consciousness.
It is the resultant between the subjective stimulus and the internal path, and it is
our conscious relationship with the symbol. It tells us how we place ourselves in
relation to it and the relationship we have with the whole underlying sphere.
This result can be rational, emotional, animic, aesthetic, mnemonic, it can be a
mixture of all these paths.
Whatever it is, the concept is a voice that gives us direct knowledge, passing from
form to concept often without using logical superstructures.
And in this last step the concept is protected and adapted to the user in order to
make it usable and relevant to the world of the receiver. Also in this, the symbol
has a unique intrinsic strength that few other languages show.
From this point of view, the symbol possesses an inner intelligence that no
manipulator can ever scratch. The content within the Symbol is defended, hidden
and unassailable. And it can only be used by the one who has the correct key to
open and activate it.
For others it will remain simple background noise, sometimes even mute, but
without ever causing any harm to those who are not ready to use it.
In the symbol the message will travel intact and pure through time, space and
humanity in complete safety, without disfigurement and when the time comes it
will show its fruit with the right strength regardless of whether only one day has
passed or endless ages.
-------
Of the symbol there would be many other aspects to deal with...like when listening
to Rachmaninoff's 13 Preludes for Piano...each one interesting in itself...but only all
together can give us the complete picture.
