Activity: Create face blend end caps

In this activity, you will create a 5.0 millimeter face blend at the left edge of the
conical face. You want to end (or cap) the blend at the placement face of a
countersunk hole.

Open the part and specify the Face Rule

1. Open syn1_face_blend_1.

2. Choose Home tab→Feature group→Face Blend .

3. On the Top Border bar, from the Face Rule list, select Single Face.

Select geometry for the face blend

1. Select the face shown.

The direction arrow should point away from the selected face.

2. Click Select Face Chain 2 .

3. Select the face shown.

The direction arrow should point away from the selected face.

4. In the Radius on-screen input box, type 5 and press Enter.

5. Examine the blend preview.

The top of the blend slants upward to the top of the vertical face. You want to
cap the blend at the planar face where the countersunk hole is located.

Cap the face blend

1. In the Trim and Sew Options group, under Overriding Trim Objects, click
the User Selected Objects check box.
2. From the Limit Object list, select Face.
3. Select the planar face shown.

The direction arrow should point away from the selected face.

4. Click OK.

The blend is now capped at the face you selected.

5. Close the part.
