a. Is there really less snow?
b. A very white christmas
c. It´s snowing in the United States!

Snow can be fun. Kids love it! Many older people say it used to snow
much more than it does now. SOME say this proves that global
warming is a very real problem. However, in 2009, the United States
had several blizzards - winter storms with heavy snow and strong
winds. During a blizzard, the wind often blows at 65 Kph, making it very
cold and dangerous. There´s so much snow flying around, you can´t
even see what's right in front of you. The temperature can fall as low
as- 25 degrees Celsius, or colder! Lots of snow falls during a blizzard.

Too much snow can be a problem. Sometimes cars and houses can
disappear in a snow storm. One of the 2009 blizzards hit the East
Coast of the United States a week before Christmas. Some places got
60 centimeters of snow. Then, a few days later, snow started fallingin
eight other states. Some people in these states left their homes early
so they could be with their families for the holidays. They were lucky.
Other people did not leave early enough and could not reach their
families for the holidays. They were lucky. Other people did not leave
early enough and could not reach their families because roads and
airports were closed. At least they had a white christmas in 2009!

Demasiada nieve puede ser un problema. A veces

estaban cerrados. Por lo menos tenían una Navidad
blanca en 2009!
