In March, former Congressman Joe DioGuardi announced his candidacy for the New York State U.S. Senate seat currently held by Democratic Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. Today Joe is the official nominee of the New York State Conservative Party and a Republican Party candidate facing a three-way primary election on September 14. When I endorsed Joe last spring, I talked about how Joe has spent his life serving the people of Westchester County, the citizens of New York, and the taxpayers of this country. As the first practicing CPA elected to the U.S. Congress and the author of Unaccountable Congress: It Doesn’t Add Up, Joe has been sounding the alarm for almost twenty years about our government's out-of-control spending and deceptive budgeting, accounting, and reporting practices.
