1. GENERALITÀ ISO 188; UNI-ISO 188

1.1 La presente normalizzazione fornisce
indicazioni e modalità di esecuzione della
prova di invecchiamento artificiale accelerato
in stufa, che consiste nel mantenere provette
e/o pezzi, per un tempo definito, ad una
temperatura prefissata, con tolleranza di ±2°C
salvo indicazione diversa, in aria alla
pressione atmosferica, nel misurarne le
proprietà fisiche e meccaniche alla fine della
prova, e calcolarne le variazioni rispetto a
quelle dei pezzi o delle provette non
sottoposte alla prova.

1.2 Le provette devono essere quelle

specificate nei metodi di prova delle
caratteristiche da rilevare.

1.3 Nel caso di prove non distruttive la

determinazione delle caratteristiche prima e
dopo il trattamento deve essere eseguita
sulla stessa provetta o sullo stesso pezzo.

1.4 Nel caso di prove distruttive si deve

provvedere a ricavare due gruppi di provette
o di pezzi, di cui uno è destinato alla
determinazione delle caratteristiche dopo il
trattamento.

1.5 L’apparecchiatura di prova è costituita da

stufe a camera unica conformi a quanto
indicato al punto 3 della norma ISO 188
oppure della norma UNI-ISO 188.

2. MODALITÀ’ DI PROVA
2.1 Per eseguire il trattamento si dispongono
le provette e/o i pezzi nella stufa
preventivamente portata alla temperatura di
prova. Provette e pezzi devono essere
sospesi verticalmente, essere esenti da
sollecitazioni salvo quelle dovute al proprio
peso, ed essere posti ad una distanza di
almeno 10 mm fra loro, e di almeno 50 mm
dalle pareti della stufa.

2.2 Al termine del trattamento le provette ed i

pezzi vengono tolti dalla stufa e lasciati
raffreddare su una base cattiva conduttrice di
calore (es. legno), a temperatura ambiente,
per almeno 30’ prima di iniziare le prove.

1. GENERAL NOTES ISO 188; UNI-ISO 188

1.1 Present standard gives information and
method to perform the accelerated artificial
ageing test in stove which consists in
maintaining specimens and/or parts for a
given period of time, at given temperature,
with tolerance of ±2°C if not differently
specified, in air at atmospheric pressure; in
measuring the physical and mechanical
specifications after test and in calculating the
variations respect to those of parts or
specimens which did not undergo the test.

1.2 The specimens must be according to

those mentioned in the test methods for
specifications under consideration .

1.3 In case of non-destructive tests,

specifications before and after treatment must
taken on the same specimen or part.

1.4 In case of destructive tests two sets of

specimens or parts must be obtained; one out
two sets will be used to take the
specifications after treatment.

1.5 Single chamber stoves, make up the test

apparatus; they are according to point 3 of
norm ISO 188 or norm UNI-ISO 188.

2. TEST METHODS
2.1 Specimens and/or parts are placed in the
stove previously brought to test temperature.
Specimens and parts must be suspended
vertically, free from other stresses than those
inherent to their weight and placed at no less
than 10 mm. each other and no less than 50
mm. from stove walls.

2.2 After treatment the specimens and the

parts are removed from the stove and left to
cool at air temperature for at least 30 min. on
a non heat conducting surface, such as
wood, prior to starting the test.
