Posto così in chiaro uno dei significati assunti dalla forma di que-
sti vasi, dobbiamo poterli conoscere sul piano della storia delle civiltà
anche da un punto di vista estetico ; il motivo in questione ebbe sviluppi
puramente decorativi. L'unione di differenti recipienti in un unico vaso
venne inoltre informata di frequente da criteri dichiaratamente estetici,
per quanto si possa ancora parlare molte volte di uso magico-rituale. A
questo proposito bisogna ricordare il vaso cipriota risalente alla mede-
sima epoca dei precedenti, costituito da tre recipienti globulari uniti e
